This is our future retirement home and we put a lot of care and thought into the architectural design, selection of amenities, and furnishings.

After touring many cities in Mexico, we decided that La Paz was the perfect place to build our future retirement. Ensconced along the largest bay on Baja’s Sea of Cortez coast, La Paz is noted for a beautiful malecon (waterfront walkway) backed by palm trees, pastel-colored buildings, spectacular sea-side sunsets, easy-going pace and it’s proximity to uncrowded beaches and pristine islands. La Paz has the perfect blend of a beautiful historic city set against a tranquil desert and a pristine, turquoise ocean abundant with marine life. We think La Paz offers a great blend of an old world city with friendly people yet also provides all the amenities of a large city without the big city feel. Beware! Legend has it that once a traveller visits La Paz, he leaves a piece of his heart there, and is always drawn feeling complete again when returning to this wonderful place.
People who have stayed at our property consistently tell us that once they arrive they are content to just relax in our inviting great room, cook up a sumptious meal in our fully-equipped kitchen, and enjoy their family and friends in a luxurious getaway from it all. You can pamper yourself in the large, private infinity pool overlooking the ocean; enjoy a margarita as you recline on the sunken bar stools. Both the pool and the 8-person hot tub provide the perfect backdrop to view the stunning sunsets and watch as the La Paz cities lights blink on. La Paz is only 15 minutes away and offers a wide range of restaurants from Italian, to high-end Mexican fusion, to delicious tacos and sumptious seafood cocktails. Previous guests have let us know that fishing in the Sea of Cortez, whale watching, kayaking, wind-surfing, snorkeling and wandering along pristine beaches are some of the favored activities.
First time visiting La Paz, and so thankful we picked this property. It's architecture and feel is very warm and inviting. The views are incredible and the pool divine. Bev was especially helpful in helping us gringos navigate and had a warm welcome for us after a day of travel. Her recommendations on many things were spot on and we do feel extremely fortunate to have found this gem. It's outside of La Paz in a residential neighborhood which makes it very private. We toured Baja Expeditions to snorkel with sea lions, whale sharks, and saw humpback whales, an adventure of a lifetime- loved how La Paz is so NOT Cabo. Worth mentioning- the Master bedroom is detached from the casa that has 2 bedrooms, so if you have children you feel that might be uncomfortable sleeping apart from you it's worth it to know.
Our family of 9, children and grandchildren, had a wonderful time here. There was plenty of space to spread out yet tables big enough to come together for meals. Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and there was lots of splashing and laughter coming from it. We had adventures swimming with whale sharks and sea lion pups, absolutely beautiful beaches, whales, dolphins and too many birds to mention. It was a unique experience and this was the house where it was possible for our family group.
Thank you so much for making our family vacation an amazing one. We had 9 of us in the house over the New Year's Holiday and couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The house is more beautiful than the photos make it seem. The moment you walk into the house you have a feeling of a grand arrival. We had chips and guacamole and beer the moment we arrived. Bev, the property manager, was a delight! She did some grocery shopping and arranged for us to have some meals prepared along with a cooking lesson! She came by often to check on us, but was never in our hair. She had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do.
We did get lost driving here from Cabo so I would suggest flying into La Paz directly. Or make sure you have a GPS because the roads don't have signs and it is very confusing. The house is about a 20 minute drive from downtown La Paz, but it was a nice little Oasis.
When we come back to La Paz we will for sure stay here. Thank you!
We had our family of 10 in this great spacious house, it is secluded and with a great view. It was winter time so we really enjoyed the Jacuzzi!
This is a beautiful, contemporary, spacious, and private property several miles south of urban La Paz. The property is serene and safe, surrounded by Sonoran desertscape. The quiet is interrupted only by the birds bathing on the edge of the infinity pool, and the sounds of the woodpeckers tapping the glass of the doors. Drinks in the evening on the patio near the pool and spa, under the large patio covering, or around the fire pit is very easy to become addicted to. The patio overlooks the Bay of La Paz and has a magical view of the lights of the city across the water, and the moon rising over the hills behind the city. The home is modern, within a rural setting of widely separated properties. Still, you are only an 8 minute drive from major grocery shopping, and about a 25 minutes to the Malecon and central La Paz. Beautiful unspoiled beaches lie another 10 minutes away.
The property is professionally managed and maintained. Bev, the property manage, is a font of information and suggestions for all maters La Paz. Take her advice. She is spot on. The kitchen is fully equipped. You can even try your hand at making tortillas (we didn’t). The cable service works reliably as does the internet. You need a car. The property has 2 that can be contracted separately. I always seem to judge house rentals by the quality of the provided towels. This property passed the test. I wish I hadn’t wasted precious luggage space with my own towel.
LaPaz is a jewel. If you are sick of all the Cabo tourists and the inflated Cabo prices, La Paz is for you. It's Mexico - not just So Cal with cheap beer. The people are kind, interactive, and laid back. The food is amazing! The seafood is shockingly fresh. Oh, BTW, my damage deposit was refunded in full before I woke up the morning after returning home. This property is a winner.
Our party of 6 had a great time at the home. It definitely lives up to its billing. Fantastic locale. Isolated for privacy if wanted, close enough to the sights and sounds of La Paz, Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. Quiet beaches north and south of home and lots of local restaurants from the roadside taco stand to downtown upscale restaurants. Our week was a full one with a great mix of entertainment, golf, fishing and sightseeing. Bev the property manager did a great job of orienting our stay so that we did not waste time finding places. she quickly pointed out the ins and outs of the area. Property is extremely well maintained. A great vacation was had by all.
