This 3,100 sq foot home exudes warmth and comfort. The striking architectural details include a 20 foot high brick barrel ceiling, natural stone, and panoramic views both day and night from the custom 30-ft retractable glass patio door which allows the living area to be blended with the beautiful outdoors. The views encompass the Bay of La Paz, the Magote peninsula, the city lights and the mountains beyond. To the back of the home is a desert paradise, where you can hike, explore by foot or ATV and bird watch to your heart’s content.

This home is located on a hill-top in El Centenario, one of the few areas in La Paz and Southern Baja where guests can enjoy views of the downtown city lights. Enjoy panoramic views from the living room, outdoor decks, 8-person hot tub and infinity pool. A peaceful get-away, a perfect tranquil sanctuary for extended family and friends, while enjoying convenient access to outdoor and ocean activities and city life centered around La Paz. 12-minute drive to beautiful, pristine secluded beaches on the Sea of Cortez. Private luxurious master bedroom (separate from main house) with it's own jacuzzi tub. Property includes an additional private casita which includes one of the 4 bedrooms, a second fully-equipped kitchen, bath, living area and a separate patio with panoramic views.

Other services are available at a reasonable fee: daily maid service, cook/housekeeper, massage therapy, salon services, private yoga classes and more.

This is our future retirement home and we put a lot of care and thought into the architectural design, selection of amenities, and furnishings.

Why Bev Durvin chose Baja California Sur

After touring many cities in Mexico, we decided that La Paz was the perfect place to build our future retirement. Ensconced along the largest bay on Baja’s Sea of Cortez coast, La Paz is noted for a beautiful malecon (waterfront walkway) backed by palm trees, pastel-colored buildings, spectacular sea-side sunsets, easy-going pace and it’s proximity to uncrowded beaches and pristine islands. La Paz has the perfect blend of a beautiful historic city set against a tranquil desert and a pristine, turquoise ocean abundant with marine life. We think La Paz offers a great blend of an old world city with friendly people yet also provides all the amenities of a large city without the big city feel. Beware! Legend has it that once a traveller visits La Paz, he leaves a piece of his heart there, and is always drawn feeling complete again when returning to this wonderful place.

What makes this house unique

People who have stayed at our property consistently tell us that once they arrive they are content to just relax in our inviting great room, cook up a sumptious meal in our fully-equipped kitchen, and enjoy their family and friends in a luxurious getaway from it all. You can pamper yourself in the large, private infinity pool overlooking the ocean; enjoy a margarita as you recline on the sunken bar stools. Both the pool and the 8-person hot tub provide the perfect backdrop to view the stunning sunsets and watch as the La Paz cities lights blink on. La Paz is only 15 minutes away and offers a wide range of restaurants from Italian, to high-end Mexican fusion, to delicious tacos and sumptious seafood cocktails. Previous guests have let us know that fishing in the Sea of Cortez, whale watching, kayaking, wind-surfing, snorkeling and wandering along pristine beaches are some of the favored activities.

Guestbook comments from the manager

From the moment I walked into what was to be home for a week, I was constantly delighted by each expression of architectural thought and design. It started outside with the use of stone walls which continued to the inside and repeated the pattern through to the master suite.

All this after walking under the awesome barrel shaped brick ceiling. The use of beautiful marble and onyx, in the kitchen and bathrooms fit in perfectly. My thrill continued as I observed the furniture of wood which has the feeling of age and so many of pieces reflect the wonder of nature - especially the spectacular dining room table.

All of this is to say, as an artist who sculpts in stone, thank you for sharing your home. It has been a delight.

We had a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 teenagers, we gave the kids the main house and the adults had the other buildings. It is a very quiet place the house was bigger then expected and the views are amazing. Bev ' S recommendations on restaurants was great, all good food and service. Clean and stunning interior and exterior with gorgeous architectural details tones and materials!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about the property is wonderful including the managers who assisted us with any questions we had about the property or local area. The pool and hot tub are stunning along with the views surrounding them. It was very nice to be in a quiet secluded section of town while still being just a brief drive from the main parts of La Paz. From stunning sunsets to endless starry nights, this is a gem in a wonderful baja town! The whale sharks are just up the road, everything in town is less than 10-15 min away, I would highly recommend this property to anyone from couples to families or large groups as it can easily accommodate any of the above.

Awesome pool and great home!

  • 4 of 5

As a group of six (3 couples) our stay here was wonderful and the property manager was extremely accommodating with lots of helpful information and recommendations for good restaurants close by and in town. We took her advice and booked a trip to Isla Espiritu Santo to dive and snorkel with whale sharks and sea lion pups through Red Travel and we were not disappointed. The trip was amazing and our three guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. The food at all the restaurants we dined at was excellent as was the in home meals prepared by our cook, Miriam. La Paz is a beautiful city rich in history and culture and the locals are very friendly and helpful. We loved the fact that there's plenty of good shopping, places to eat, and fun things to see and do while not bei g over run with tourists. Loved every minute of our visit and can't wait to go again!!

Wonderful family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful - just like the photos. The pool was a perfect place to cool and relax in the afternoon. Bev, the manager was wonderful. She was so helpful throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is a drive from La Paz centro but all in all, we had a great and memorable family vacation.

Fell in love with La Paz and this casa

  • 5 of 5

First time visiting La Paz, and so thankful we picked this property. It's architecture and feel is very warm and inviting. The views are incredible and the pool divine. Bev was especially helpful in helping us gringos navigate and had a warm welcome for us after a day of travel. Her recommendations on many things were spot on and we do feel extremely fortunate to have found this gem. It's outside of La Paz in a residential neighborhood which makes it very private. We toured Baja Expeditions to snorkel with sea lions, whale sharks, and saw humpback whales, an adventure of a lifetime- loved how La Paz is so NOT Cabo. Worth mentioning- the Master bedroom is detached from the casa that has 2 bedrooms, so if you have children you feel that might be uncomfortable sleeping apart from you it's worth it to know.
