A memory making vacation is awaiting you nestled in the heart of the upper hominy valley where you will find an 'antique retreat' at the O’Kelley farm house. Renovated in 2008, the farm house is over 100 years old. Situated on 16 acres, the home is adorned with memorabilia from the O’Kelley family along with interesting novelties and antique accents.
Our home is located just moments from the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville, where you can find just about anything to do that your heart desires. Or, you can simply enjoy the farm for its own unique charm. May we suggest passing your time by: rocking on the porch, sitting under the outdoor pavilion watching wildlife, building a bonfire and toasting marshmallows, listening to the nearby creeks, or just enjoying the magnificent view of Mount Pisgah. Walking trails are also located nearby.
To add to the unique charm of the home, we have updated the matresses, but kept the original iron beds and many other pieces of the history that have made this home so special. We have tried to renovate in a way that adds modern conveniences and comforts with old time charm. The home, complete with a large kitchen and a spacious dining room that will seat up to 10 people, is a perfect place for an old fashioned family gathering.
This old farm house is so dear to our family. We hope that you and your family will come here and spend time making memories of your own. E-mail us today to plan your old fashioned family vacation.

Barbara O'Kelley Burnette & Dan O'Kelley
Julie Burnette purchased this farmhouse in 1900
This home belonged to our Grandparents Frank and Texie O'Kelley. It has been in our family for over 100 years. We wanted to be able to share it and let others enjoy a little bit of history.
We are very convenient to Asheville & The Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to access but still far enough out to get away from it all. 16 acres of pasture to roam around in.
The farm house provided a wonderful place for our family to stay during our visit to Asheville! The house was full of antiques, stories and pictures of the O'Kelley family. It brought back memories for my mother of her great aunt's home and great grandparents, fond memories for sure!
O'Kelley's Farmhouse was the perfect place to stay and explore the Asheville area antique stores. We explored during the day and came back to the farmhouse to relax, cook on the outside grill and sit on the farmhouse front porch. The property is beautiful and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. Since the blue ridge parkway was just minutes from the house, we saw some wonderful views of the mountains. The upstairs hide- a- way was a perfect place for our grown daughter to have a space for herself. Our side-trips included Asheville, Waynesville, Hendersonville, and Chimney Rock...all were close and made for enjoyable days. The House was decorated with antiques but still had all the modern conveniences...We so want to return some day.
Very comfortable, owners were friendly and easy to work with. Only negative, white towel were clean, but stained.
The beds were a bit too small for both of us and my wife had to sleep upstairs..........A little uncomfortable for her to go up stairs but, it was a nice experience, regardless..........l
Nice place for a little nostalgia........
We decided to go to NC to get away from the heat and the beached in FL. After looking at several properties around the Asheville area we deiced to rent O'Kelley's Farmhouse. We liked to old look, the open green fields and over course the kids were excited about the goats. Upon arrival everything was as described and pictured. It felt like we stepped back in time and O'Kelley's Farmhouse is like a mini museum. You can spend quite some time just walking around the house and explore the interior. The house is just a couple of minutes form the Blue Ridge Parkway, with spectacular views of the mountains. The kids woke up every morning running outside to feed the goats and just explore the area. We had friends that stayed at a hotel downtown Asheville and they regretted not staying with us in the Farmhouse. O'Kelley's Farmhouse definitely made our vacation feel even more special. I would recommend this property to anyone that want to visit the Asheville area.
We are at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. 15 - 20 minutes to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Cradle of Forestry and many other inviting attractions located on the Parkway. Also, we are about 20 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, or downtown Asheville.
