A memory making vacation is awaiting you nestled in the heart of the upper hominy valley where you will find an 'antique retreat' at the O’Kelley farm house. Renovated in 2008, the farm house is over 100 years old. Situated on 16 acres, the home is adorned with memorabilia from the O’Kelley family along with interesting novelties and antique accents.
Our home is located just moments from the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville, where you can find just about anything to do that your heart desires. Or, you can simply enjoy the farm for its own unique charm. May we suggest passing your time by: rocking on the porch, sitting under the outdoor pavilion watching wildlife, building a bonfire and toasting marshmallows, listening to the nearby creeks, or just enjoying the magnificent view of Mount Pisgah. Walking trails are also located nearby.
To add to the unique charm of the home, we have updated the matresses, but kept the original iron beds and many other pieces of the history that have made this home so special. We have tried to renovate in a way that adds modern conveniences and comforts with old time charm. The home, complete with a large kitchen and a spacious dining room that will seat up to 10 people, is a perfect place for an old fashioned family gathering.

Barbara O'Kelley Burnette & Dan O'Kelley
Julie Burnette purchased this farmhouse in 1900
This home belonged to our Grandparents Frank and Texie O'Kelley. It has been in our family for over 100 years. We wanted to be able to share it and let others enjoy a little bit of history.
We are very convenient to Asheville & The Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to access but still far enough out to get away from it all. 16 acres of pasture to roam around in.
We decided to go to NC to get away from the heat and the beached in FL. After looking at several properties around the Asheville area we deiced to rent O'Kelley's Farmhouse. We liked to old look, the open green fields and over course the kids were excited about the goats. Upon arrival everything was as described and pictured. It felt like we stepped back in time and O'Kelley's Farmhouse is like a mini museum. You can spend quite some time just walking around the house and explore the interior. The house is just a couple of minutes form the Blue Ridge Parkway, with spectacular views of the mountains. The kids woke up every morning running outside to feed the goats and just explore the area. We had friends that stayed at a hotel downtown Asheville and they regretted not staying with us in the Farmhouse. O'Kelley's Farmhouse definitely made our vacation feel even more special. I would recommend this property to anyone that want to visit the Asheville area.
We had a great time at this property... Enjoyed the beautiful scenery, horses and goats... Not too far from downtown! Would definitely come back
My husband and I met our Son and two grandchildren here for a long Memorial Day weekend. I cannot say enough great things about this place. WE LOVED IT! The house is wonderful and fit our needs perfectly. The yard, fire pit and the lovely goats were a huge hit! We played ball and played and feed the goats in the great yard and had a campfire everynight catching fireflies and enjoying the sounds of the creek. It was a great house, a great location and wonderful folks to work with. I cannot wait to come back for another visit.
We enjoyed our stay at O'Kelley's Farmhouse. We liked that it was away from the city (Asheville), but still close enough to go there in a short period of time. We also liked that it was easy to find. It was fun meeting the goats (Princess and her 3 babies). With the 2 of us and our 2 grown children, it was good to have room to have our own beds and then to be together to watch TV or play games before settling down for the night. It's hard to find such in a hotel or B&B.
This old farmhouse is like stepping back in time, all the decor is amazing to look at. Even the kids (actually teenagers) were impressed by all the "cool" stuff. Great location near Asheville!
Will recommend to anyone. Easy and pleasant drive to it, and close to groceries. Comfortable, super clean, quite, has the essentials, and super cute. Just walking around the inside of the house and then the land could be an attraction by itself if you like to explore. The horses, the goats, the creek, the sound of the creek!!!, the mountains surrounding the farm. It was just awesome. Drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was beautiful! When I mentioned comfortable, we are a family of 7 and did not had issues whatsoever with the space. Just loved it! Thank you O'Kelleys!
We are at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. 15 - 20 minutes to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Cradle of Forestry and many other inviting attractions located on the Parkway. Also, we are about 20 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, or downtown Asheville.
