O'KELLEY'S FARMHOUSE IS AN EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION TO GATHER AND ENJOY THE COMPANY OF FAMILY & WONDROUS BEAUTY OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS. WE ARE LOCATED JUST AT THE FOOT OF MOUNT PISGAH & THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY. A SHORT 20 MINUTE DRIVE TO DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE.
A memory making vacation is awaiting you nestled in the heart of the upper hominy valley where you will find an 'antique retreat' at the O’Kelley farm house. Renovated in 2008, the farm house is over 100 years old. Situated on 16 acres, the home is adorned with memorabilia from the O’Kelley family along with interesting novelties and antique accents.
Our home is located just moments from the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville, where you can find just about anything to do that your heart desires. Or, you can simply enjoy the farm for its own unique charm. May we suggest passing your time by: rocking on the porch, sitting under the outdoor pavilion watching wildlife, building a bonfire and toasting marshmallows, listening to the nearby creeks, or just enjoying the magnificent view of Mount Pisgah. Walking trails are also located nearby.
To add to the unique charm of the home, we have updated the matresses, but kept the original iron beds and many other pieces of the history that have made this home so special. We have tried to renovate in a way that adds modern conveniences and comforts with old time charm. The home, complete with a large kitchen and a spacious dining room that will seat up to 10 people, is a perfect place for an old fashioned family gathering.
This old farm house is so dear to our family. We hope that you and your family will come here and spend time making memories of your own. E-mail us today to plan your old fashioned family vacation.

Barbara O'Kelley Burnette & Dan O'Kelley
Julie Burnette purchased this farmhouse in 1900
This home belonged to our Grandparents Frank and Texie O'Kelley. It has been in our family for over 100 years. We wanted to be able to share it and let others enjoy a little bit of history.
We are very convenient to Asheville & The Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to access but still far enough out to get away from it all. 16 acres of pasture to roam around in.
Will recommend to anyone. Easy and pleasant drive to it, and close to groceries. Comfortable, super clean, quite, has the essentials, and super cute. Just walking around the inside of the house and then the land could be an attraction by itself if you like to explore. The horses, the goats, the creek, the sound of the creek!!!, the mountains surrounding the farm. It was just awesome. Drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was beautiful! When I mentioned comfortable, we are a family of 7 and did not had issues whatsoever with the space. Just loved it! Thank you O'Kelleys!
Our family had a great time at the O'kelley's Farmhouse! very cool old house with lots of history to it and I had no idea it was so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway! just pull out of the driveway and go up the winding road to the top of Mt Pisgah and your on the parkway in just a couple of minutes ! it is also very close to downtown Asheville, River art district and Maggie Valley, beautiful area with plenty of sites to see and great people too! we will be going back in the future
This is the best place we've ever rented with VRBO. It is very relaxing and a throwback to slower days, yet has the modern amenities to make it comfortable and easy to use (meaning - cable tv, central heat, gas grill!). It was far enough from town to be peaceful, yet close enough for us to easily go in for shopping and groceries. The drive from Asheville is very easy, not curvy or hilly like some other locations we've rented. We are already looking at a second trip with this as our home base to explore the area. Highly recommended!
Our family of 3 adults and 1 child (10 year-old grandson) thoroughly enjoyed staying 3 nights at your unique family farmhouse in the Asheville area. The location was excellent--close to Asheville restaurants and special sites and, of course, the beautiful mountains. It was awe-inspiring to look out the windows to see the top of Mt. Pisgah and the rolling pastureland of your property. We have a real appreciation of memorabilia from bygone years so all the interesting items placed so cleverly in your home really caught our eye! The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for our needs. The home itself was clean and well-maintained. The bedding was more than adequate since the home could actually sleep 6-8 comfortably. Having snow flurries late one night and continuing the next morning really was a highlight for our grandson. He made the biggest snowball and hated for it to melt. Feeding the pregnant goat Princess was another rare threat. By the way, Princess loves bagels but not English muffins with cheese. The owners were extremely accommodating and helpful, especially with such a late booking. I would definitely recommend this quaint, eclectic farmhouse for anyone just wanting to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It was very reasonable for all it offered. Our family would very much like to visit there again. This is a gem anyone would appreciate!
The Enis Family from North Carolina
Four of us--3 adults and 1 child--visited the Asheville area and stayed in a very quaint farmhouse filled with memorabilia from bygone years for 3 nights on 1/15-1/18/16. It was a wonderful stay--very clean, well-stocked, cozy, and perfectly located for our adventures. It snowed late one night and into the next morning much to the delight of our 10-year-old grandson. He also was thrilled watching three horses run in the pasture and then being able to feed a very friendly pregnant goat named Princess bagels. I would highly recommend this rental without reservation. The owner was extremely helpful and very gracious especially with such short notice. The price was also extremely reasonable as well. It is our hope to return to this rental again and enjoy the area.
Took my daughters for a getaway after Christmas. We had a great time. Only thing we really missed was a fire in the fire place. If some how they could make this happen it would be awesome!
We are at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. 15 - 20 minutes to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Cradle of Forestry and many other inviting attractions located on the Parkway. Also, we are about 20 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, or downtown Asheville.
