IT'S STILL WINTER AT THE FARM!
O'KELLEY'S FARMHOUSE IS AN EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION TO GATHER AND ENJOY THE COMPANY OF FAMILY & WONDROUS BEAUTY OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS. WE ARE LOCATED JUST AT THE FOOT OF MOUNT PISGAH & THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY. A SHORT 20 MINUTE DRIVE TO DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE.
A memory making vacation is awaiting you nestled in the heart of the upper hominy valley where you will find an 'antique retreat' at the O’Kelley farm house. Renovated in 2008, the farm house is over 100 years old. Situated on 16 acres, the home is adorned with memorabilia from the O’Kelley family along with interesting novelties and antique accents.
Our home is located just moments from the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville, where you can find just about anything to do that your heart desires. Or, you can simply enjoy the farm for its own unique charm. May we suggest passing your time by: rocking on the porch, sitting under the outdoor pavilion watching wildlife, building a bonfire and toasting marshmallows, listening to the nearby creeks, or just enjoying the magnificent view of Mount Pisgah. Walking trails are also located nearby.
To add to the unique charm of the home, we have updated the matresses, but kept the original iron beds and many other pieces of the history that have made this home so special. We have tried to renovate in a way that adds modern conveniences and comforts with old time charm. The home, complete with a large kitchen and a spacious dining room that will seat up to 10 people, is a perfect place for an old fashioned family gathering.
This old farm house is so dear to our family. We hope that you and your family will come here and spend time making memories of your own. E-mail us today to plan your old fashioned family vacation.

About Julie Burnette
Barbara O'Kelley Burnette & Dan O'Kelley
Julie Burnette purchased this Farmhouse in 1900
Why Julie Burnette chose Candler
This home belonged to our Grandparents Frank and Texie O'Kelley. It has been in our family for over 100 years. We wanted to be able to share it and let others enjoy a little bit of history.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We are very convenient to Asheville & The Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to access but still far enough out to get away from it all. 16 acres of pasture to roam around in.

House was perfect for a weekend getaway. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and everywhere else. We loved the views and the back patio area was really nice for grilling out!
Nostalgic and Charming
We all loved this house!!!! You could tell that the owners take great pride in this charming house! Our favorite part was the upstairs bedroom. My kids loved it and will remember it forever. The owners were extremely helpful and neighbourly. We would definitely stay here again. The owners even were gracious enough to look for a necklace I had left behind and mail it to me. Thank you so much Julie!!!!
Lovely, Rustic Charm, Farmhouse Chic in the Smoky Mountains
Very Classy ,well-maintained, rustic farmhouse with modern conveniences. Owners are very responsive and as charming as the house....two thumbs up!!
Charming, clean farmhouse. Easy drives to get to hiking spots. Kids enjoyed the upstairs. Thanks for sharing your home!
What a perfect little farm house with character and charm. Absolutely perfect!!
We had such a wonderful time. The house was perfect, the beds were perfect, the kitchen had everything we needed and some. I highly recommend bringing an old blanket to throw on the ground next to the fire pit, and lay there and look up at the stars. That's what this house is, a place to take a breath, enjoy the beauty and relish the past. When we were leaving, of course everyone had to use the bathroom before our 6 hour ride home, we ran into Dan. Oh my!!! What a sweet man!! As we waited for the children, we chatted with him. It was so awesome to have some questions we had about the history of the house, answered. What a perfect way to end our stay!! We truly enjoyed our stay and will definetly be coming back!!
So unique and fun! Will definitely stay again!
Loved the unique country charm of O'Kellys farmhouse. We have stayed several times with groups of friends and always have a great time.
We are at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. 15 - 20 minutes to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Cradle of Forestry and many other inviting attractions located on the Parkway. Also, we are about 20 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, or downtown Asheville.
