We absolutely love Southern Oregon and all it has to offer throughout the year. We are located on 10 beautiful acres with 2 houses. With so many friends and family who have stayed with us on their way through the area, especially since we are only 15 minutes off the I-5 interstate, we decided to share this jewel with others who are visiting the Rogue Valley. Staying here means you will get the chance to meet Larry King...Live! He's not the guy on CNN, but a fantastic mechanic and Automotive Technology instructor who LOVES to ride quads throughout our mountains. Kat has worked in the healthcare documentation industry for over 40 years and is currently pursing her Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration and Medical Coding/Billing Certificate. We're animal lovers with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a horse.
Kat and Larry King purchased this cabin in 2002
Whether you are a family and need to spread out or a couple who desires a quiet, romantic getaway, our comfortable and pet-friendly cabin is the perfect destination. We are located between Josephine and Jackson counties, and central to so many activities throughout the Rogue Valley. A short, beautiful drive off the I-5 will provide the much-needed relief from the fast pace of the city. Removed from the city lights makes star-gazing second to none and at 2000 feet above sea level, we tend to get snow in the winter. Come and create your own memories in our cabin in the woods.
This was our second time visiting the cabin and it won't be the last. If I only had a 7 letter limit my comment would be "AWESOME", but since I get 3000...here goes! The cabin has everything you need or want. Fully furnished, I felt like I was at home. The property, well...spectacular. The now doe, same fawn as our first visit had returned to snack on some corn. Rusty has a new playmate and the cats think they're dogs! Cricket had an apple or two. I can't decide if the 10 mile quad ride to the towers or the 25 mile ride to Uranus was better! The endless views of mountains will mesmorize you, the smell of the pines will enhance you and you'll want to make this your forever vacation spot.
Kat & Larry are the "hostests with the mostest" and without them the cabin in the woods, would just be a cabin. Thanx again...see ya next trip, maybe our 2 year anniversary party!!

We stayed three nights. It was advertised as a cabin, but in reality it was a trailer that had been covered in wood. It did have a well equipped kitchen and a large tv. It could have had directions to use the vcr as all machines are a little different. It wasn't a scenic lot/location. It was on the same lot as the owners which was well kept, but the rental's landscape was messy It was approximately 17 miles out of Rogue River. The owners were friendly and helpful. It was clean and neat. We wouldn't recommend it. We chose the site because our son-in-law wanted to go fishing. It wasn't comfortable to be outside because the temperature was in the high 90s.
Kat and Larry are wonderful people. The cabin is well decorated, secluded, yet only 10 minutes from town. We plan to stay here again.
Over the course of our four day stay, we found the landscape beautiful and enjoyable. Our hosts Kat and Larry were wonderful people. The cabin was a great value, and we have no regrets, and would very much like to visit again.
Beautiful location, comfy house in a quiet setting. Wonderful hosts. Would be more roomy with less clutter and more comfy with a little more TLC cleaning.
I realm enjoyed getting to the (later than expected) to find all the lights on it was warm and inviting. I slept great and Kat And Larry are very friendly, had no problems letting their animals enjoy two young ladies spoiling them. They also had a christmas tree up and decorations were left so my girls could decorate. In my favorite country christmas style.my only complaint would be heat was inconsistent( colder than normal temps). And main bathroom lighting was dark and made it hard to see makeup and stuff and it was a little too far out of the way, but overall good value top notch service.
We had a great weekend at the house in Rogue River! The property is beautiful and the animals were very sweet! Thanks for accomodating us for a last minute trip!
