About the property

5 Bedrooms, 3 Full Bathrooms, 1 Half Bathroom, sleeps 12

Come visit beautiful Deep Creek Lake and stay at 'Mountain Lodge'. This chalet-style home has community lake access for swimming and boating, a picnic pavilion and Bath House. You can enjoy the convenience of a boat slip within walking distance (about a 5 to 7 minute walk). With wildlife, beautiful scenery and room for your whole family, you cannot go wrong by choosing 'Mountain Lodge'.

Mountain Lodge is located on peaceful Beckman's Peninsula and is surrounded by Deep Creek Lake. This 4000-plus square foot home was completed in 2004. It is centrally located to all activities/restaurants and is within walking distance of Deep Creek State Park. The house is only a short drive (8 miles) from the Wisp Resort and the brand-new white-water rafting facility at the top of the mountain.

There is always something to keep you occupied at Mountain Lodge. Play pool, air hockey, darts and numerous board games. Take a nice quiet walk to the lake, relax in the hot tub, sit on the deck and watch the sunset and roast marshmallows in our fire pit.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to THANK you so much for allowing the Turner Livsey and Smalls family to get together with our kids at the end of the summer and ENJOY your fantastic HOME. It was great from top to bottom with so much to do. We even enjoyed Kick Ball in the front yard, the gas grill was easy to use and the Black Bear came past for a Visit. The deer also visited daily and we felt right with Nature, deep creek has alot too. Thanks so much for accomodating all our needs." - karen t., , 08/21/2014

Comfy, relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is our 5th time staying in this wonderful home. It's a great house for a large family and friends. Between the hot tub, pool table, multiple tvs, games and now the new outdoor fire pit, there is plenty to keep everyone busy. If you're lucky, on a clear night, the sunset is beautiful. The house is always clean and ready for our arrival. Thanks for another great vacation.

superb atmosphere, would stay again.

  • 5 of 5

A very lovely home! sadly the weekend ended up having constant thunderstorms so I did not get to enjoy the lake, but we were able to still have a great time because of the hot tub, pool table, air hockey table and great atmosphere set by the fireplaces. The location also seemed good for lake activities based on what we say driving in, but can't say first hand due to thunderstorms. I was a little wearing with the $200 deposit being handled outside of VRBO, but Ed mailed me a check the same day we left and was quick to communicate.

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at this home for the past two years.

We have been going to Deep Creek/WISP for our family ski weekend for the past 10 years - this house is by far our favorite. A short drive to the slopes but the lay out of the house is what works for us the most. The living/dining/kitchen area has plenty of seating for all 12 of us. The teenagers love the downstairs. Plenty of sleeping space too!

Ed is a pleasure to work with - very accommodating!

Perfect Winter Escape

  • 5 of 5

This house was truly better than imagined. We went with 11 women and the house was comfortable and spacious. The pricing is extremely fair. We are already looking at dates to return!

Highlights:

-Beautiful house with an open floorplan, conducive for hosting large groups

-Clean, comfortable, spacious but cozy

-Wood paneling and ceilings gives it an authentic "cabin" feel

-10 comfortable beds plus a roll away bed

-Tucked away on a long driveway so it feels secluded

-Plenty of parking

-Hot tub was amazing!

-Good amount of bathrooms, and the half bath off the kitchen was a great feature

-Kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, coffee maker, plates, silverware. etc.

-Ed was extremely responsive

Things to note:

-There is only one oven and its rather small. It worked out but it would have been helpful to have 2 ovens or more racks when cooking for a group of 11

-The driveway is long and not paved in the winter. The house is at the bottom of a mildly steep hill. It snowed the whole time we were there and 3 of the cars didn't have 4wd and were fine, but if there is heavy snow this might be an issue.

-The house was very cold the first night. We called Ed in the morning and he answered right away, and told us its a new thermostat so we had to play around with it. We eventually got it working and it was the perfect temperature the rest of the weekend

-We had difficulty with the keypad lock when leaving the house - the key code works but you also have to turn the knob to activate the deadbolt, and it didn't always work. We figured it out, but it was more trial and error. It might be good to get better instructions from Ed before arriving.

Makin' Memories

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been coming to Deep Creek for our family ski weekend for 9 years and we were all in agreement this weekend that this was the best home we have ever rented. It is really spacious which allows everyone their own space. The kitchen/living/dining area is laid out perfectly with seating for everyone. The home is really clean and is equipped with every appliance, utensil, and bedding - there was nothing we needed - this house had it all!

We were there for skiing which was a short drive (7 miles) to Wisp Resort.

We will be back to Mountain Lodge and will continue to make memories in Deep Creek!

Deep Creek State Park
Car: recommended

Deep Creek Lake is a great place to come and relax. But if you want activity, there is plenty to do. There is boating and personal watercrafting in the summer and skiing in the winter. There are tours and white water rafting, ATV rides through the woods, golf and mini golf, go carts, bumper boats, arcades, horseback riding, and much more. Try a new activity like dogcarting or dogsledding when you're here! At least 8 movies are playing at the Garrett 8 Cinemas at any given time. State parks such as Swallow Falls and Savage River dot the area. At a state park or on a private trail you breathe of fresh mountain air as you see nature up-close and personal. Our home is central to all of these activities.
