Happy times

  • 5 of 5

We were happy to spend a week in this wonderful house. It is located along a quiet road, surrounded by big trees. Foxes, turkeys and deer strolling by. Hillsdale is ideally situated for visiting the Dutch Country of New York (very appealing for us Dutchies), with Kinderhook and its famous Martin van Buren, as well as the Berkshires of Massachusetts, with Great Barrington and Stockbridge (Norman Rockwell Museum). A bit to the North (North Adams) is the utterly brilliant MassMoCA, for those of us who like modern art. The Appalachian Trail is close by (don’t forget to bring your insect repellents) and many, many other great things to do. Thank you, Bill and Eileen!!

Perfect for our trip to the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

Loved the cottage, it had all that we needed, great furniture, convenient to Great Barrington & an easy drive to Stockbridge, MA. We used the washer/dryer, the air hockey game, the kitchen (saved on eating out a lot), & enjoyed the fireplace/heater in the living room during a chilly evening. Nice peaceful setting, too. The only tiny improvement (to echo another review) would be to have the cleaning person dust the bedroom blinds. Minor complaint, the rest of the cottage was fine.

Loved the log home in the country

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property while attending the wedding of a dear friend about 15 minutes away. The home is lovely with lots of rustic accents. The bedrooms all have window AC units, so we were comfortable despite the heat. Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well-appointed. Beds were comfy, and I especially enjoyed sunning on the deck. We would definitely return.

Relaxing and quiet place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two nights to attend an event at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day Weekend. The house was perfect for three couples and was located only 25 minutes away from the track in the quiet town of Hillsdale, NY. The house was clean and had plenty of towels, blankets and extra pillows. The kitchen had updated appliances, all the utensils you would have in your own home, pots and pans, paper products and enough dishes to serve 8 people. The dining table was large and allowed us the room to sit and chat after dinner. The gas grill was clean and extra gas bottle was provided. On our first night, we turned on the gas fireplace to take the chill off. The second night we sat outside and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. The area had enough seats for everyone and was peaceful and relaxing.

We had lunch at the O’s Hillsdale Country Dinet. The service was quick and the food was good. For our other meals we shopped at Hillsdale Super Market for supplies and even though the store is small we were able to find what we needed. The drive to Lime Rock was beautiful with horse farms on both sides of the road and hardly any traffic lights. We found the property was exactly as it was described and photographed, clean and well maintained. Bill and Ellen the owners were responsive when we inquired about the home and were helpful with area information and providing us with final details prior to check-in. They left us a box of chocolates which was a nice touch and much appreciated.

I would recommend this property for anyone who is looking for peaceful and relaxing getaway!

We stayed here for two nights while visiting relatives nearby. The home is very cozy and and has everything you need for comfort. The house was very clean and very well kept. Beds were also very good condition and comfortable. Owners made themselves readily available if needed. Will definitely stay here again.
