Suggested improvements at Kercem
1/. The cast iron door handles are too heavy for the catch mechanism and some doors are difficult to keep shut.
2/. Notices above toilets should consider children of visitors. The wording could say ‘toilet paper only, other materials in bin please, rather than tampons etc.
3/. Instructions on using the washing machine and oven would be very helpful.
4/. A larger safe is needed.
5/. A microwave would be most useful.
Thank you for an absolutely fantastic stay in your idyllic villa, it truly is a slice of paradise! Georgia was wonderful and we knew she was around if we needed anything. The perfect villa for a relaxing break! See you again soon I am very sure.
Lovely house located centrally in Gozo. Big house which was perfect for us. Very comfortable beds.
We had a lovely week in the house. Plenty of space for all 11 of us. Central location. Kitchen well equipped. Bathrooms all perfect. A proper wooden cot and a high chair were provided which was a lovely touch. Good BBQ outside. Georgia the housekeeper was very helpful. We had a great week thank you.
Only 2 things I would change is there is no comfortable outside seating and we had a few problems with the pool where we couldn’t open our eyes under water and the children’s hair now feels like rubber (very strange).
We were travelling from the Uk and Australia for a family get together. The house was so comfortable and peaceful. The bedrooms and en-suites we’re spacious , clean and very luxurious. They were also air conditioned which was absolutely necessary in the summer heat.
The outdoor spaces were plentiful and the pool was a welcome retreat after a hot day sightseeing. We loved the BBQ area for long lazy evening dinners. The kitchen is really user friendly with a great collection of equipment. We were 11 adults and never ran out of anything.
The house is located just outside of Victoria so we could easily walk 20 minutes into the Citadel, or town or you can navigate the maze of streets to some great swim spots and lovely restaurants.
We have all loved our stay .
Re: Casa Mezzodi’, Gozo We had a marvellous week at Casa Mezzodi’ – a family group of 8 adults an
Excellent - met all our requirements.
The description of Caza Mezzodi is totally accurate. Luxurious, grand, abundant lemon trees, rose arches and an immaculate swimming pool. not only is the house beautifully decorated but spotlessly clean. we were 9 ladies all showering at the same time in the well fitted ensuite bathrooms and never once ran out of hot water! Georgiana, the caretaker/housekeeper is a treasure. Take advantage of paying her to come in each day. Also ask the owner for Claire Borg's contact details, a private chef who will come to you and serve the most delicious meals in the garden or house. quality abounded from towels to kitchen knives. Stay here if you can.
Kercem: Casa Mezzodì is situated in the rural and tranquil village of Kercem, which lies only a short distance from the capital Victoria (1km). The countryside surrounding both these villages is breathtaking, and there are many countryside walks to be enjoyed. The area was once known for its fresh water springs and it is still the most lush area of Gozo. One can still see the remains of an aqueduct built by the British in 1839 which carried water to Victoria, and the nearby Lunzjata valley was once a hunting ground for the Knights of Malta.
Food and Drink: Gozo is particularly strong on traditional foods. Gozitan cheese (usually made from sheeps’ milk) is delicious, and served as Gbejniet (small, round, mini-cheeses) either fresh (like a tasty ricotta), dried, or marinated and peppered. The cheese is also used to fill home-made ravioli and pastizzi. Pastizzi are Malta’s favourite savoury snack – miniature pasties filled with cheese or peas. A glass of local wine in a village bar comes with a dish of olives and maybe zalzett (coriander-flavoured Maltese sausage), bigilla (broad bean paste) and galletti (Maltese crackers) or crusty Maltese bread and olive oil. A Summers day at the beach means hobz biz-zejt, a popular snack made from a thick slice of crusty Maltese bread, rubbed with juicy, red tomatoes and topped with mint, a little onion, sheep's cheese and anchovies all soaked in delicious green olive oil; a taste of sunshine, a taste of Malta.
Gozo is rich in good restaurants and relaxing cafes, the delicious food often enhanced by a delightful view or historic setting. You will be spoilt for choice in Ir-Rabat , Mgarr and the resort towns of Marsalforn and ix-Xlendi, and there are some wonderful surprises tucked away in even the quietest parts of the island.
