Casa Mezzodì is a spacious farmhouse situated in the main square of the quaint Gozitan village of Kercem. This substantial property has recently been elegantly renovated in quiet good taste and to the highest standards and now is an impressive residence with a beautiful mature garden and pool area. Casa Mezzodì consists of a welcoming entrance hall leading to a large staircase that serves three bedrooms and the roof terrace. Moving on you come to a sitting room with working fireplace, dining room leading onto a brand new fully equipped kitchen and a small courtyard with a pantry and a further outdoor staircase that serves the rest of the bedrooms. The ample accommodation offers 7 air-conditioned bedrooms, with most having their own terraces and balconies overlooking the property's extensive garden and courtyards. The large windows and glazed doors bring light into the whole of the property. The gardens and outdoor spaces include a fantastic entertainment area with a barbecue, mature fruit trees and beautiful greenery, and a stone pathway set under a tunnel of grape vines which leads onto a stunning swimming pool and deck area. Casa Mezzodì has been furnished with a blend of contemporary fittings and traditional antique furniture offering a unique experience and includes many charming architectural features typical of a Maltese farmhouse, exterior staircases, dry stone walls, archways and timber beams, which are all intact and in excellent condition.

Great house for family's

We stayed in this house with 8 adults and 7 children. Everyone enjoyed it a lot. Great rooms, kitchen, location and cleaning. Everything is really convenient for big company's. The caretaker and the owner is really helpful.

Beautiful! Highly recommend.

I almost don't want to share how good this place is, because I want to keep it a secret for myself!! It's truly stunning. We stayed for a week with 12 adults and 1 infant for our wedding, we couldn't have hoped for a more magical place to stay. Our guests were literally speechless when we arrived! To start with, the location is ideal. It's in a quiet hamlet of Kercem with 2 supermarkets and a bakery in walking distance. Victoria is less than 1 mile, we walked there - it took about 15 mins, but we also hired cars so we could get around the island. There is plenty of on road parking. The bedrooms are beautiful, with French style furniture, the beds are huge and so comfortable - even the bed linen is good quality! The kitchen is well equipped with additional fridge space in the pantry and a dishwasher and washing machine. The outside dining/BBQ area is just magical!! The pool is clean, the sunbeds are comfortable. The roof terrace gives wonderful views, especially at night when all the churches are lit. We had Claire Borg (private chef) to cook for us one night, which I highly recommend. The food was delicious and Claire is so friendly and accommodating!! And it was great to be able to eat at the villa and not have to wash up!!

The description of the villa provided on the website is 100% accurate (although it's more beautiful than described!). I spoke to a couple of locals who know the owner, he has a great reputation for fitting out quality villas and constantly re-investing in them, which I understand is quiet rare in Gozo. The villa is clean, new, well maintained and well equipped. Alex the owner was delightful - so helpful, quick at responding to emails.

The island of Gozo is beautiful, easy to get around, all the locals speak English and are so friendly, very relaxed! Places I recommend to see - The Citadel (walled city), the Azure Window (at sunset). We visited the spa at Ta Cenc. Restaurants I recommend: Il Kantra (Ta Cenc), Ta Philip (Harbour), The Boat House (Xlendi). The food throughout Gozo is delicious!!

We will be returning as soon as we can!

Stunning!!!!!

What an absolute stroke of luck finding this villa. On arrival you are greeted by a lovely little courtyard that really doesn't prepare you for what your going to see inside, the pictures are lovely however really do not show the true reflection on how lovely this villa is, or how big it is as well, don't be put off by the small entrance area (only small in comparison to the rest of the villa I assure you) the stunning stone, lovely fresh feel to the place really does set this villa apart from others I have rented in the past. All the bedrooms are beautifully appointed with ac and fans in all rooms. Kitchen is modern and stocked with anything you will need to create some beautiful local meals, should you so wish and the dining area inside has a lovely period feel to it when the candles are lit and you congregate with the family and friends. Outside you are greeted by a beautifully well kept garden area with a good sized outdoor dining table and BBQ area, then a lovely walk through the lemon grove brings you to a beautiful pool area, pool area is fantastic little sun trap, or if not the sun type the parasol provided are more than upto the task of keeping you well shaded. All in all this villa is absolutely stunning, extremely well appointed and has an amazing authentic feel to it that will astound you. The owner of the villa was a pleasure to deal with, courteous, helpful and extremely amiable. I cannot recommend this villa enough and will certainly look forward to visiting it again should I return to Gozo.

Kercem: Casa Mezzodì is situated in the rural and tranquil village of Kercem, which lies only a short distance from the capital Victoria (1km). The countryside surrounding both these villages is breathtaking, and there are many countryside walks to be enjoyed. The area was once known for its fresh water springs and it is still the most lush area of Gozo. One can still see the remains of an aqueduct built by the British in 1839 which carried water to Victoria, and the nearby Lunzjata valley was once a hunting ground for the Knights of Malta.

Food and Drink: Gozo is particularly strong on traditional foods. Gozitan cheese (usually made from sheeps’ milk) is delicious, and served as Gbejniet (small, round, mini-cheeses) either fresh (like a tasty ricotta), dried, or marinated and peppered. The cheese is also used to fill home-made ravioli and pastizzi. Pastizzi are Malta’s favourite savoury snack – miniature pasties filled with cheese or peas. A glass of local wine in a village bar comes with a dish of olives and maybe zalzett (coriander-flavoured Maltese sausage), bigilla (broad bean paste) and galletti (Maltese crackers) or crusty Maltese bread and olive oil. A Summers day at the beach means hobz biz-zejt, a popular snack made from a thick slice of crusty Maltese bread, rubbed with juicy, red tomatoes and topped with mint, a little onion, sheep's cheese and anchovies all soaked in delicious green olive oil; a taste of sunshine, a taste of Malta.

Gozo is rich in good restaurants and relaxing cafes, the delicious food often enhanced by a delightful view or historic setting. You will be spoilt for choice in Ir-Rabat , Mgarr and the resort towns of Marsalforn and ix-Xlendi, and there are some wonderful surprises tucked away in even the quietest parts of the island.
