This small village with its narrow streets, traditional townhouse and pleasing modern urbanizations is dominated by the Montgo Mountain and National Park Area. It is hidden amongst the beautiful woodlands and flat valley that spreads towards the sea with orange, almond and olive trees.
This village has many Fiestas, and a wonderful Sunday market where local traders and farmers sell their food , drink and other artisan products with a background of song and dance in the Valencian style. On the 9th of October (the day of the Valencians) you will enjoy a wonderful Village party and music well into the late evening.

The Javea area
Javea can be divided into three main areas, the Old Town, the Port and the Arenal. Old Town: This is the ancient town centre steeped in medieval history which has largely been preserved throughout the centuries. You can wander through the maze of narrow streets and small plazas. The Gothic fortified church of San Bartolome dominates the centre of the town. This building dates back to the 15th century, half religious half military. At the side of the church is a beautiful Neo Gothic building which houses the indoor market where you can buy local fresh produce daily. The colourful outdoor market takes place every Thursday in the market place. Traditional Spanish cafe’s and tapas restaurants are found here, in the streets just off the church square, affordable amazing Mediterranean food where all the locals flock to. Heading towards the hills you can visit the lighthouse, high up on the Cabo San Antonio, with fantastic sea views, on a clear day you can see the island of Ibiza, The Port: This was originally a fishing community but has now become one of the main tourist centres of the town. Here amongst the modern buildings you will find the ancient quarters of narrow streets with the simple whitewashed fisherman’s houses. It is a lively bustling area with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants serving the freshest seafood you will have ever tasted! Just the place to sit and sample the local wines whilst watching the fishing boats bringing in the day’s catch. From the heart of then port rises the majestic structure of the church of Our Lady of Loreto with a roof which imitates the hull of a ship. The modern Nautical Club at the marina has facilities for all forms of water sports. The Arenal: Javea’s blue flag beach where the shore gently slopes into the warm sea. The promenade has a number of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants providing a variety of food to suit all tastes. During the evening in the Summer months, you will find a various stalls here selling a variety of handmade crafts. Many of the bars have live music and there are several discotheques for those that like to dance the night away. There are several scenic coves nearby. Grandella , with its crystal clear waters is a favourite for scuba diving and snorkelling as is Portichol. There is even a naturist beach at Ambolo. Nearly every kind of watersport is catered for in Javea, and for those who don’t want to get their feet wet there is golf, bowls, tennis, cycling, horse riding and hiking to name but a few.

Good location, beautiful gardens & pool - well equipped
Los Lagos is a beautifully maintained small complex with lovely gardens & pool. This particular apartment was spacious & well equipped with a small balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and distant mountains. The kitchen was very well equipped for our needs, there was a linen change during our 2 week stay and there were ample towels etc. provided.
We did have a problem with the oven & toaster, but these things happen and it certainly didn't spoil our holiday.
If you are hiring a car this makes a great base to explore from and we certainly enjoyed our 2 weeks here very much.
Nice and pleasant
Nice and pleasant place, quiet, good location, beautiful pool and recreation area. All what you can expect is given ..... recommended.
The picturesque village of Jesus Pobre is only a 15 minute walk away.
