Luxurious 2 Bedroom 2 bathroom Town House in the heart of Fontevraud village.

Plantagenet Place is a stylish town house in the very centre of the medieval Abbey village of Fontevraud –final resting place of the Plantagenet Kings Henry II and Richard the Lion Heart.

The house is situated in a quiet road off the main Square and village shops and restaurants are only a few short steps away whilst the entrance to the 35 acre Royale Abbaye is just across the road. There is no parking on site but there is access for unloading/loading and safe, easy parking can be found within a hundred metres.

The ancient house has been newly renovated (2014), retaining much of its original character with many exposed tuffeau stone walls and oak beams complemented by high quality furniture and luxurious fittings. It provides the ideal base to explore the Chateaux and sites of the Loire Valley.

The main entrance opens directly into the bright lounge/dining room with access to the fully fitted kitchen. Stairs to the first floor landing lead to a large bedroom and newly fitted spacious ensuite bathroom. A second oak staircase leads to the top floor with a characterful chateau style open plan bedroom and bathroom (the staircase has some high steps which may mean it is not suitable for the very young or elderly or infirm).

The village has pretty seating areas and the Abbaye Gardens are very nearby and there are beautiful country walks –and picnics –from your doorstep.

Small polite pets are welcome.

A Wonderful Home Base for Exploring the Loire Valley

This home is well-appointed, very clean and nicely maintained, and proved to be our favorite VRBO property out of the four rentals we experienced during our recent 3-week trip to France. Lucy was the consummate host, from the fresh French bread and scones, jam, sel-de-mer butter, to a chilled bottle of local cremant sparkling wine upon our arrival. She also was very good at keeping in touch and helping us plan our trip, even assisting us in developing a daily itinerary based on what we told her we wanted to see during our stay. The restaurant recommendations proved to be useful, as well. Lucy, thank you for being so welcoming and friendly! Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend Plantagenet Place as a lovely location to explore the many chateaux, wineries, and other beautiful sites of the Loire Valley.

Très bon week-end, toute la famille est ravie !

Très bon week-end passé en famille. Très jolie petite maison de village, décorée avec goût, agréablement meublée et très propre. Tout est neuf et fonctionne très bien. Très bien située proche de l'abbaye et de la place du village (boulangerie, restaurants parc pour les enfants )

Cette maison est agréable pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants pour s'y reposer et pour visiter. L'accueil a été très chaleureux avec de petites attentions délicieuses.

Short stay breaks are available Tuesday arrival to Saturday departure and arrival to Tuesday departure.
On arrival the deposit is automatically converted to a refundable security deposit against damage to property or contents. This deposit will be returned in full within 14 days of departure providing that there are no damages or breakages.

Additional Services must be paid in full on receipt of invoice in advance of arrival.

Payment may be made by bank transfer or alternatively by credit/debit card online (a service charge of 3.4% applies to these payments)

In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your holiday we will try to be as flexible as possible. However, if it is not possible to re-let the property, we reserve the right to charge on the following scale:

More than 90 Days Notice Full refund less a handling charge of €50

30-90 Days Notice We will attempt to re-let the property and where this is possible, we will refund all payments to you less the handling charge of €50 and the costs of any additional marketing or discounts. If we are unable to re-let the property, then we will be unable to refund any payments for rent, but your security deposit will be returned
