Comfortable home away from home just 4 miles from the Sugarloaf access road, 2 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and right out the door to gigantic snowmobile trail system. Pretty Stratton Brook stream right out the back deck, with the Bigelow mountains rising just beyond that. In the fall, there are trout to be caught in the brook, partridge in the brush as well as deer and moose. Stone fireplace in the main room with sleep sofa for extra guests snowed-in. One bedroom downstairs with full over twin bunk bed. Bunk room upstairs with 4 bunks and master bedroom with balcony porch and large sliding glass window for spectacular view of the Bigelows. Great floor plan for Apre ski entertaining and relaxing. It's an easy house to feel at home in, comfortable, stocked with puzzles, games, video movies and books. So much more private and quiet than staying on the condo-packed mountain.
Great family camp. Our family farms and lobsters in the summer and skis in the winter
The description of the property was accurate, however needed more detail as Wi-Fi and TV with Netflix was available. Everything needed for cooking was on site. While the water had high Iron content, owner provided plenty of bottled water for our needs. Firewood was conveniently provided. The property could use less clutter. Very was very close to Sugarloaf!
Great place to stay if you're looking for a quite beautiful place to stay. It's about 10
Min. Drive to sugerloaf. Beautiful view outside. I highly recommend this place Overall, I had a fun weekend and will definitely come back to this place.
4 miles from the access road to Sugarloaf Mountain, the camp is located on Stratton Brook on a quiet road that enjoys stunning views of the Bigelow Mountain range. There is abundant fishing and hunting just out the door, all kinds of opportunities to see wildlife up close, snowshoe hares, fox, partridge, grouse, deer, moose, bears. There is a snowmobile trail from the driveway that leads to a snowmobile trail system that continues to and into Canada. It is a one hour drive to the Canadian border and the big sugar shacks. Flagstaff Lake is a 26 mile long lake just 7 miles from the camp with a sandy public beach on the lake. Lots of great ice fishing spots in every direction. And of course- the best skiing in the East at Sugarloaf Mountain, over 4,000 foot vertical drop, skiing for every level skier and a great ski school program for kids. Also at Sugarloaf, miles of groomed cross-country skiing, a big ice skating rink and the largest indoor climbing wall and swimming pool.
