About the property

“Villino Iris” is located in a scenic position just 3 km away from the center of Florence.

You can enjoy a spectacular view of the city of Florence and the surrounding hills from the Villa. It hosts a 190 sq. m apartment which comprises 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 2 bathrooms (one equipped with a shower and the other with a bathtub), a large 50 sqm living room with a typical Florentine-style fireplace and a fully-furnished 30 sqm kitchen equipped with a fridge, oven, dishwasher and washing-machine.

You can eat your lunch or dinner on the large terrace-garden, which is equipped with tables and chairs, while enjoying a charming view in total privacy . The terrace-garden can be accessed from both the main entrance and the kitchen.

The terrace also leads to the neighboring park and olive yard, which globally extend over an area of approx. 3.5 ha.

This is, by all means, the ideal place for a nice walk and a full immersion in the wilderness and vegetation typical of the hills around Florence.

In order to ensure guests the highest standard of comfort, the Villa provides a large private parking for customers arriving by car, as well as air-conditioned rooms, LCD TV and free WI-FI internet access.

The center of Florence can be easily reached in 15 minutes (no driving required) by catching a city bus (line no. 25), which stops right in front of the Villa gates.

A bar, a minimarket, a postal office and a gas station can be found 300 meters from the main entrance.

Spacious Villa with beautiful view of Florence!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week long stay at this villa. There were six of us and the home had enough space for us to be very comfortable hanging out together on the patio (which has an amazing view) or having dinner together inside the large kitchen. Nice living room area as well, easy to relax there. The owners were so welcoming to us - really went the extra mile to make us comfortable. They also helped us later in the week with problems I was having with our boarding passes!

We did not have a car and found the villa well located for using the bus to and from Florence. It was about a 15 minute ride on the bus to downtown Florence and the bus tickets are about 1.2 Euro each. If you are going to take the bus, it is helpful to get a good idea of the bus schedule or you can end up waiting 20 min. Also, the road to Florence is narrow and parts do not have any sidewalks - so it is not a good idea to try walking to Florence from this location.

Overall, I did really enjoy this villa. It was relaxing to come back after a day of sightseeing and have a glass of wine on the patio. The location is also very quiet, you really feel removed from the city noises looking out over a Tuscan landscape!

If you are looking for an out of town villa with a quiet atmosphere and a wonderful view.

Beautiful views and the house has everything you need. A little challenging to take the bus into town. The host is very nice and speaking English was no problem. Felt very safe and really enjoyed the quiet and fresh air away from the city.

Peace of the country while viewing the city!

  • 5 of 5

Along with family and friends we had a fantastic two-week vacation and loved having this property as our home base! The description was right on, the property was clean and had everything we needed - we cooked often, had many people to sleep and shower. The owner and manager were always available but not intrusive. We enjoyed walking down the hill to La Lastra and having the bus drop us off right at the driveway after a long day in Firenze! The bus was easy to catch and we came and went all hours of the day and night! The amazing thing about this property was how removed the bedrooms were from the kitchen and other parts of the house - it was easy to sleep even when many were up and loud in other parts of the property. The place had everything you could need - full kitchen - nicely stocked, 2 bathrooms, a clothes washer, 3 bedrooms, 3 couches, many extra blankets, TV, wifi, air conditioning and a fabulous patio with retractable awning from which the city view is amazing! I am fairly confident that anyone who stays will have a fantastic time here!

vacation of a lifetime!!! our Villa was incredible

  • 5 of 5

Our stay Andreas' and Alessandro's villa could not have been more heavenly! Every evening we sat on the veranda with a glass of wine and fabulous treats from the day out, overlooking the beautiful town of Florence! I dont beleive that any of us have experienced the hospitality that these 2 offered us! From suggestions to delightful restaurants, small villages to visit, travel info, luscious wines, to assiting us with moving our big rental car when we got stuck :) From the moment we got there, we felt at home~ the rooms were so spacious, the decorating was beautiful and the kitchen was much larger than we had expected! The airline had lost one of friends luggage. Alessandro was kind enough to accept it for us and put it by our door. He let us know that there would be fireworks on the Wednesday night of our stay so we were sure to come home in time to enjoy it from our PERFECT view from the veranda~ The restaurants they suggested were fabulous and exactly what we were looking for! We had 6 people in our party and it was so wonderful to have 2 full baths! I would ABSOLUTELY re-rent this villa next time i come ( fell in love, hope to be back!). I would recommend this villa to anyone! It was clean, had a fully equipped kitchen, and the veranda even had an electronic shade in case the sun was too strong! I cant think of one thing that we wanted /needed that wasnt there~ OUR THANKS TO ANDREAS AND ALLESANDRO FOR MAKING OUR STAY TRULY MEMORABLE~ thank you! Tammy, Steph, Annie, Alyse, Josh and Maria! Our sincerest gratitude!

Charming, warm, and very comfortable villa

  • 5 of 5

This was a charming villa just outside the main city area of Florence, but far enough away that you felt like you were in the country. The house is charming, warm, and very comfortable. Our family of five stayed here for four nights in June. While there was an extreme heat wave during our visit we were very comfortable between the air conditioning and fans that were provided. The back patio area is lovely and there is an electric awning to keep it from getting too hot during the day time hours. The property has a gated keyed entry off the road and has another house on the property where one of the owners lives, which is handy in case you have a problem. The house is at the bottom of a steep driveway which leads up to the gated entry. The gardens on the back patio are beautiful and well kept. The patio looks out onto the olive garden and Florence in the distance. The house is lovely, and while some parts are a little dated, it only adds to its patina. It is a wonderful space to relax and spread out in. It is all on one floor so while you will be climbing lots of stairs on your visit in Florence you won’t be doing them at the villa! There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a small shower and the other has a tub with shower attachment. Both baths are adequate for what you would need. One suggestion I would make to anyone who, like us, is driving a rented car in Florence is to get a GPS with your car rental. Florence can be difficult to navigate without one. Our hosts were very helpful in helping us obtain one during our stay and we were very grateful for the help. We did take the bus from the villa down into Florence when were where exploring the city and it was convenient and runs all hours of the day and night so there shouldn’t be a problem getting back. We used the villa as a home base to also take day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, and Fiersole. We didn’t make it to Pisa but could have easily done that as well. We would definitely consider another stay if we were to be staying in the area in the future.
