So convenient for Cardiff and exploring South Wales. Feels tucked away whilst being close to everything you need. Cabin itself is great. Quirky and cosy.

Comfortable, we'll equipped, quirky and in a convenient location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay. Rachael was very welcoming of us and our two small dogs. The cabin was warm, clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the coffee machine and found the cabin convenient for getting the train into Cardiff (station is a 5 minute walk away). Would definitely stay there again when we visit Cardiff. Thanks, John and Emma

Good for location

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is what it is. Quite cute and cosy and in a great location right on the Taff Trail. We were using it to go into Cardiff for the rugby then planned to go walking on Saturday and Sunday with our dog. Our plans went out the window when we read "dogs must not be left alone in the cabin at any time". Those of us that have dogs leave them on their own for periods as it's not practical to take them everywhere so having "rules" like that don't work for dog owners. Other than that the cabin was warm, and well equipped. The double mattress was a bit hard and the sofa beds had seen better days (for sleeping on)

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, I am so sorry about the info left & received by yourselves -totally my fault for not updating the info- we do now since late 2016 (& have allowed) dogs to remain for short amounts of time in our cabin & I have recently contacted those with intention to bring their pet with the correct & updated message(we had an incident last year with a dog causing significant damage - which was when we implemented the rule, but we have since revised it, as absolutely agree, it is impractical to take your dog everywhere.) We do however expect dog owners to be responsible, clean & tidy & ensure us that their dogs are well trained & behaved so that this type of damage does not re occur On this occasion - I will contact you & compensate you as a gesture of good will.

Lovely little cabin perfect for a girls weekend

  • 5 of 5

Me and 5 of my friends rented this property for a girls weekend for my birthday in February. Whilst the cabin is relatively small it has everything you need and we were happy to use the bunks and pull out beds. Everything was clean and Rachael came to help us straight away when we accidentally blew the fuse and the power went out which was very nice of her. The cabin is nestled in the woods and so you do feel away from it all but only 20 minutes from Cardiff so we managed to go on a night out there easily. We were gutted we didn't have time to go on the taff's trail walk which we had heard about. Would definitely recommend this property!

cabin if cardiff

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here, lovely place to visit, local's was friendly, pub called Fagin's down the road was lovely and cosy, we went to the recommend Indian restaurant down the road too and the food was lovely. Exterior needs a makeover though, if i hadn't read the reviews i would never have gone in there. The cabin itself was lovely, although i must say i'm disappointed that it wasn't in the woods at all, shop directly next door, house behind it, public trail in front of it, road with local houses right outside. This picture must be very old before the shop was built or very cleverly taken, as it looks like it is in the middle of no where, which is exactly what me and my husband was looking for, but its not. Would recommend a new sofa inside, as it was hard and not comfy at all, after a long walk down the public trail, wanted to slouch in sofa with a cuppa, no such luck , like sitting on a dining chair. But don't get me wrong the cabin was lovely overall, clean and very warm. We was also very grateful for the lovely welcome basket including wine, tea, coffee sugar and scones, and a pint of fresh milk in the fridge. Also the owner was extremely quick in responding to our request to stay which we appreciated with helpful directions to the cabin as well. A lovely break away from home.

Thank you

Fantastic quaint cabin x

  • 5 of 5

On first sighting we were a bit disappointed because the pictures make it look like it's secluded in the woods and not on a public trail, saying that we have had a fantastic new year with such a friendly welcome from Rachael and family nothing was to much trouble. The cabin itself is amazing and caters for all your needs for the time away. It's cosy, warm and clean with plenty of crockery and utensils. We used the fire pit although said rusty by others it worked well. The Taff's trail is great for walking or bike riding and the cabin is close to the trains but not a nuisances for noise. easy walk through the trail to reach the train station. With regular trains into Cardiff. A must is a visit to Fagans bar very friendly and allowed the dogs in. We will love to come back again but with are bikes. Thank you again for the wine on arrival. We hope everything was in order when we left xx
