This beautifully decorated log cabin is located on a rural mountaintop and surrounded by forests, laurel thickets, and many varieties of wildlife. Enjoy many outdoors activities such as hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the wild horse colonies of Grayson Highlands State Park (called the 'sweetest miles of the AT [Appalachian Trail]' by Backpacker Magazine, August 2007), or taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are stocked trout streams and many historical places in the surrounding areas to explore.
The kitchen is well equipped and all linens are provided. Relax on the big wrap around porches as dusk falls or as the sun rises over the crest and enjoy nature at its finest as the turkeys fly over the ridge, or the deer emerge from their resting places in the laurels. Don't forget your camera!

My sister and I live in two distant cities in North Carolina. We have always been great friends growing up, but owning this house together has made us even closer.
We hope this house will bring your and your family closer together too.
My sister and I inherited this house from my mom and dad not long after they built it.
We have some great family memories of this log cabin retreat, and hope you will soon too!
It is wonderful to get away from it all. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of urban life, this is the place to come to rest and restore your soul. Our guests often tell us it is one of the most refreshing vacations they have ever had. We know it will be the same for you.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cabin! We have had a wonderful time visiting Damascus and doing the Virginia Creeper Trail as well as seeing the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands! It was nice to come “home” in the evening and unwind, watch TV, play games, and spend quality family time. We also appreciated the responsiveness by you and the property managers with the heat issue the first night. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home! We had a great time!
My family loved the cabin. There is plenty of room for a large group to enjoy. Although there was a minor issues, management was very diligent. Definitely will recommend it. Thanks!!
We live in Nashville, but my sister and her family live in Pennsylvania. We wanted to find a place somewhere in the middle that would have enough room for both our families to spend Thanksgiving together without either of us having to drive 12+ hours. This cabin was the perfect solution! There was plenty of room for both our families, including 7 kids and 4 adults. The house was very clean and well supplied with a beautiful view and yard for the kids to play in. Dianne was so nice and answered all our questions quickly. Even when my sister's car battery died the day after Thanksgiving, the property manager called a friend who was at the house in 10 minutes to fix it. It was a perfect vacation and a wonderful chance to get the cousins together. We may have to make this a family Thanksgiving tradition! Thank you!!!
Great stay. Pictures on website did not do justice to this perfect cabin. Will definitely consider for future getaway. We especially enjoyed day hike at Grayson Highlands
We stayed in this area to be close to a family reunion and genealogy trip. Very secluded log cabin. Located in Troutdale VA. This cabin is very clean, well furnished, roomy and comfortable. The wrap around deck was bonus. We were able to relax and spread out. Our stay was in the middle of Aug. , the air conditioning was quite comfortable. We loved being in this beautiful area. We will stay here again.
Stayed in Troutdale with friends this past weekend for friends' wedding in Sugar Grove. We considered hotels in nearby Marion and Adkins but are so glad we stayed here. This place exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, well-equipped and felt like home. We really appreciated the help from the property manager when the men in our group couldn't get in while the ladies were grocery shopping! Beds are super comfortable, it's very roomy for a large group or family, linens were provided and sufficient, and well equipped. I recommend it to anyone for any reason - we will go back just to get away!
Dianne was great to work with, allowing my retired husband and I to rent the "Little Sister" -- the full basement apartment of this property for two nights while I was working in Independence and Marion -- it is perfectly located between the two locations. The apartment was clean and comfortable and nicer than the pictures showed. The cabin was close enough to Grayson Highland Park that my husband spent a day there hiking!
Two Sisters, Troutdale, VA is minutes away from many state and national parks with great fishing, amazing bike trails, and some of the finest hiking trails in the south. The changing of the seasons makes every day a new and different experience in these amazing mountains.
Even though it is located in such a remote area, it is still very close to many urban attractions such as the Bristol Motor Speedway (1.5 hours), the Lincoln Theatre in Marion (.5 hours), and Galewinds Amusement Park in Wytheville (1 hour).
Other Activities: hiking, exploring civil war historical sites
