Every season at the lodge is beautiful and the fall colors are spectacular. Abundant wildlife provides an opportunity to view a large variety of song birds and woodpeckers at established feeders right outside the windows. Watch bald eagles, ospreys and hawks soar at eye level over the meadows below where whitetail deer, wild turkeys and sand hill cranes forage.

Biddy's is family built, owned, and operated: The lodge features:

'It is the desire of our hearts that friends, family and couples who are guests at Biddy's Lodge truly get away from it all, enjoy the beauty of Gods creation, draw closer together and return home feeling rested and refreshed. So open the windows and listen to the leaves rustle in the wind, enjoy the sounds of song birds, woodpeckers, chipmunks, wild turkeys, nesting cranes and more. Listen to the fire crackle in the fireplace while big snowflakes fall and blanket the country side.'

May God Richly Bless you,

The Thachenkary Family

Very peaceful retreat.

We had a great time at Biddy's Hill Top Lodge. Authentic log cabin in a beautiful peaceful location. Located near Frankfurt, Onekema and Manistee. Great hiking trails and beaches. We will be back. Thanks Ted.

Totally cool! Rent this place!

  • 5 of 5

We drove up from Champaign, Illinois for a quick, quiet getaway with our three teenage boys. This cabin is AMAZEBALLS! When you open the front door, you'll think the place was built for a giant! The ceilings are high, the stone fireplace is massive, and the dining room table is enormous! It's soooo comfortable! Hats off to the cleaning crew, too. Everything was SPOTLESS! And as a mom, I really appreciated the washer and dryer.

I wish we'd had more time to explore Crystal Lake and Bear Lake. We got some good tips from the locals, who are so friendly and willing to talk.

We enjoyed Pierport Beach, which was completely empty and beautiful. The boys loved the beach in Frankfort, where you can jump off concrete piers into the freezing water. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is cool (crowded when we went, but the views are amazing!) and the pizza place in Empire has a great vibe. I would totally recommend this place!

Exactly what we needed

  • 4 of 5

Several close friends, my husband and I stayed in this lovely cabin for the weekend. While we knew there was room for trailers, it was tough as the hill was not only steep, but had 2-3 turns. Space at the top was decent; however, difficult to turn around a trailer. We loved the cabin overall, it had everything we needed (linens, towels, number of beds, kitchen appliances and utensils). We had plenty of room for a couple extra air mattresses, the bunk beds were bigger than normal and appreciated having two full bathrooms and plenty of space to eat breakfast and dinner as a group.

Family roadtrip

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our children (16, 6 & 11 months) on a road trip around lake Michigan this summer and this was our first stop along the way. The house was spacious, clean and very beautiful. The furniture was comfortable and accommodating. It was dark enough at night where we were able to take pictures of the meteor shower and the property was so beautiful I took advantage for some early morning landscape painting as well! Our little guy became mobile a week before we left so keeping him away from the staircase was a bit challenging, just a heads up if you have crawlers! We highly recommend going to Frankfort beach, Sleeping Bear Dunes, watching the sunset at Arcadia and going on the art walk at Crystal mountain. We also were able to see loads of wild life, which the kids loved! Thank you, Ted, for going above and beyond and making this stay so seamless!
