Hi! Were Phil and Jan. We have lived in Guam for 25 years but we really love our time back in Idaho where activities are endless. Flying is our passion and Idaho is perfect for back country flying adventures. We enjoy biking, kayaking, hiking, fishing and everything Idaho has to offer. We especially enjoy the friendly people of Coeur d' Alene.
Philip McCormick purchased this house in 2006
If ever the saying 'location, location, location' ever applied to a home this would be that situation. With close proximity to the beach, Tubbs Hill, and downtown this wonderful home is perfectly located. The Sanders Beach area is one of the finest neighborhoods in Coeur d’ Alene. This is a beautiful neighborhood with tall old trees lining the streets and families of quail running through the yard.
This is a “roomy” home on 3 levels so even with large groups one can find a place to relax. There is a great den with toys, video games, and flat panel on the lower level. The kids can do their thing while the adults can relax upstairs on the large patio outside the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen – every detail has been considered. If there is something missing let us know and we will provide it. See our guest comments to see what a fine experience they have had at the Ash home.
Wow! BDT (Boys on Tour) could not have found a better location and home to visit for five days. The Ash home is the perfect location for everything – lake, hikes, golf, shopping, etc. Our favorite place is on the screened-in porch. We began each day and ended each day there. Thanks for sharing your place! – From Guestbook -
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. We were in town for our family Thanksgiving gathering. Your home provided us with a great place to spend time together. Whether it was enjoying coffee in the kitchen or playing cards/chess in living room. . . . . our family had a fabulous time. We spotted bald eagles while enjoying the lake view from kitchen, wild turkeys gathering on the neighbors lawn one afternoon and deer meandering slowly down the front street. These sightings were appreciated by all! Your well appointed home and kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, including our holiday meal, all the while relaxing as a family in a beautiful location. I will also mention the beds, linens and pillows were very comfortable. This house had everything we needed and more for grandparents, young adults and grand kids. The owners and property manager were great to work with and answered all our questions. We hope to visit again!
We spent a week enjoying all the summer activities in CDA. With a group ranging from 6 to 65 years we found exciting adventures for all. We loved the Ash home especially the kitchen and screened in porch. The kitchen was equipped with every imaginable tool, dish, pan or appliance. Bedding and towels were luxurious. Our evenings on the porch doing puzzles and playing cards was a perfect way to end a busy day. We walked downtown for shopping, boating and jet skiing. We loved our Tour of Hiawatha bike tour which was a bit adventurous and the zip lining. Would love to make a return visit!
The downstairs area was very damp and could use a dehumidifier down there to help with the moisture. The upstairs shower head was positioned poorly, it was too close to the door and could not be moved. A soap dish in the down stairs shower. The house was clean and well kept, we were very comfortable there.
We rented this house for 6 days over the 4th of July weekend to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had three generations with a variety of interests helping us celebrate and we were concerned about being "stranded" too far from town. We thought the Ash House was perfect. It was a block from the lake and an easy walk to downtown Coeur d'Alene. What a great decision! We swam and played at Sanders Beach a block away. We rode our bikes almost daily along the Idaho Centennial Trail. We hiked Tubbs Hill and walked or rode our bikes downtown daily for lattes or to go to the park or shopping. We went to the 4th of July parade, the concerts in the park, and the 4th of July fireworks all with out getting in our car. And of course, we walked into town to get the famous Hudson's hamburgers. The Ash House was perfect...very nicely appointed with beautifully decorated spaces, an amazingly stocked kitchen, plenty of beach toys and accessories and the screened porch which was so relaxing. Everything about the house met our needs to a "T". The grandkids also want to thank you for sending over the neighborhood cat to say hello. Very friendly. Thanks Phil and Jan for sharing your home. We recommend it highly!
thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home over the weekend. it was perfect for our family and we spent most of our time on the porch...loved it. beds were very comfortable and great for beach access and downtown .. we would come back again .
This is a lovely home! Has everything for cooking/baking you could possibly want. Games for adults and children Toys for children!. Super clean and taken care of. The layout was great for our needs given that we had grandparents with us - group of 6 with 2 children. Grandparents were more than comfortable downstairs and really like having a den to themselves. When we come back to CDA we definitely will stay there again. Phil was very easy to work with and super responsive. Barb the manager was wonderful and answered any and all questions. Very helpful! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Great location relative to downtown, Lake Coeur d'Alene, and Tubbs Hills.
The charming downtown area is less than a 5 minute drive from the house. Here you will find great shopping, cafes and restaurants.
The Ash home is next to Lake Coeur d'Alene. Public access is a 3 block walk out the back door. Pack along our beach supplies and enjoy the sun and watch all the water activities.
