My sons and I really enjoyed all the amenities this beautiful cabin home had to offer! Everything was perfect.
The hot tub and pool table were a big hit! The great scenery and mountains are a wonderful get away! We saw five deer on our way in the first evening and even a wild turkey the next day! I would recommend this property to anyone! Thanks for letting us enjoy your mountain home!
My family had a great week at this cabin for spring break! Like other reviews have said, this cabin has a great layout, private location and is surrounded by wildlife. We had the pleasure of watching deer while eating breakfast and saw more everyday while traveling to and from the resort pool. Also, the weather was wonderful all week with temps in the upper 60's while it was cold and snowing at home in Michigan. We will absolutely be coming back to stay in this cabin again!
We had an Amazing Weekend Getaway at the Lonesome Pine! It was an absolutely beautiful cabin! It was very nice, quiet, and fun weekend. The pool table and hot tub was a hit. We enjoyed all the wildlife. We seen over twenty (20) deer in the resort. The owner, Carol, was GREAT to work with! We hope to go back very soon! Thanks for a wonderful family weekend!
This home was perfect for our family. We spent 2 days with 5 girls (pre-teens) and it couldn't have been better. We were able to "unplug" for a while and enjoy some beautiful nature. We hiked up the ridge behind the house and found all sorts of signs of wildlife. The arcade at the rec center was a hit too. Can't say enough. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and disconnect from the world for a second...this is the place for you.
Our stay at The Lonesome Pine was a wonderful week of true Thanksgiving! The home is everything I expected and more! Beautiful, clean, fully functional! Probably the best part was the wildlife that we saw EVERY DAY! From the time we entered the gates of Coosawatee River Resort, we saw deer everywhere! One day during the week, we watched a doe and numerous bucks all day long, RIGHT IN OUR BACK YARD!! We did have a little miscommunication at the end of the week, but the owner was great and the issue was resolved very quickly. The drive in is steep and winding, but, hey, you're in the mountains! It is so worth it!!
Very clean and well equipped to handle my family of 4 with grandma as well. All the instructions were provided either before in emails or in the cabin itself. The general location was good for access to the Blueridge railway, Delonega gold mine, Helen, BJ Reece orchard and of course the Ellijay apple festival.
I only gave it 4 stars because the location is remote within the development and there are a lot of steep and winding roads to get there. Directions to the cabin were poor, there were no maps available and we got turned around a few times. Cell phone service is poor so the phone maps would freeze up, so we bought a car GPS. the mountains and trees would cause that to freeze as well. By the 4th day I had learned the route so it wasn't a problem after that.
The recreation center is nice but not close to the cabin at all. We took the kids to swim for about an hour, but there is mini golf, tennis, arcade and a gym there too.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone, just be aware of the location and plan for a 10 to 15 minute drive from the gate to the cabin.
My family and I loved it!
Ellijay, GA is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northeast Georgia. The downtown area has many antique stores and restaurants. The area is surrounded by natural beauty. Carter's Lake is only a few miles from the cabin. The Coosawatee and Cartecay rivers are renowned for fishing, and Gilmer County hosts the Apple Festival each October. Other activities in the area include horseback riding, and a scenic railroad. Ellijay is even home to a Starbucks!
