Penthouse of exceptional quality and size, comprising 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 4 terraces and a private swimming pool. With skyline views, the apartment overlooks the Alhambra to the south and the Cathedral to the west. It is on the top-floor of a recently restored, traditional building with a lovely arcaded courtyard in the Albaicín. Suitable for up to 10 guests.

The interiors are decorated in an uncluttered, contemporary style, where neutral colours and original artwork combine with the rustic effect of the wooden finishes. The high ceilings provide a great sense of light and space.

The living room has a set of double-glazed windows overlooking the Alhambra. Furnishes include an ample corner sofa, coffee table and TV. The living area has direct access to the first terrace - with a dining table and chairs. Views from the terrace include the Alhambra and the Cathedral. There is a further sitting-room on a higher level, with 2 sofa-beds and TV.

The dining space features a large table with seating for 10 and is next to the kitchen, which is fully equipped with all main utensils and high-quality appliances. With oven, washer-dryer, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer.

Three bedrooms. There are two double-bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Each of the double bedrooms features a king size double bed (180 x 200cm - U.S. Queen size). The single beds in the twin room measure 90x200cm. All rooms have fitted wardrobes, and give access to 2 terraces with outdoor furniture and Alhambra views.

Three bathrooms. Two en-suite bathrooms with a hydro-massage, and a family bathroom with a bathtub.

The apartment has central air conditioning (hot/cold), double-glazing and under-floor heating. Free WIFI internet access. There is direct access into the apartment by elevator.

To the right of the apartment entrance door is the main terrace, with a private swimming pool - which can be used year-round (unheated). Terrace pool furnished with garden furniture: table, chairs, parasol and 2 deck-chairs - a perfect spot for a refreshing dip, sunbathing and enjoying the views.

Garage parking is also available in the apartment building (see conditions) - an important service for guests arriving by car as many areas in the old Albaicín quarter are restricted to car traffic.

San José Penthouse is located in the heart of the Albaicín quarter.

The Albaicín is a colourful and charming traditional neighbourhood. Made up of a network of winding streets and small squares rising up on a hill facing the Alhambra, the area is bordered by the Darro River and by the commercial centre of the city.

Once the site of the Moorish citadel, the Alcazaba, the area still retains a sense of its past in its architecture - many of the churches were built on the foundations of mosques. Today, parts of the Albaicín have taken on a distinctly North African feel with many tearooms and small shops selling Morroccan goods.

Wander through the streets and you'll find wonderful views, a wide variety of restaurants and many terrace bars - where you get a free tapa with your drink as is the custom in Granada. For the best view in town, head for the lively Mirador de San Nicolás where you can contemplate the whole of the Alhambra with the peaks of Sierra Nevada as a backdrop. As the poet said, 'Give him charity, girl, as there is nothing worse in life than being blind in Granada'!
