About Caroline McCormick
Your hosts, Caroline and Charles, recently purchased this old homestead. Charles is a retired Natural Sciences teacher. He taught high school Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. His family has been in Arizona four generations. When Charles was a small boy, his family moved to Bisbee, AZ where he graduated high school. Caroline came to Arizona in 1985 to work at Grand Canyon National Park and subsequently moved to Flagstaff, AZ and worked at Sunset Crater National Monument and Walnut Canyon National Monument. It was at Walnut Canyon that Charles and Caroline first met while they were employed as seasonal Park Rangers.

Why Caroline McCormick chose Saint David
This old ranch house on ten acres, has unique charm for the area. The mature Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and pine trees provide lots of shade. Anecdotal history and county records show it was first settled in 1915 and like most ranch houses it has been added to and remodeled as the family needs changed. The mature fruit and pecan trees along with ornamental flowers and garden plots are hard to find in this area and to us are a real bonus. There are 41 flower beds incorporated into the landscaping. We love the panoramic views which are enhanced each night with beautiful sunsets. We wanted a place where we could raise a garden. In addition to the basic vegetables, Charles has started a fruit orchard. We also wanted a property where we could ride and train our horses. Caroline occasionally shows her horses in ranch horse competitions. There is currently a 120' x 240' arena with good sandy footing and a natural trail obstacle course on the property. We plan to add a round-pen for training horses, and improved bridle trail, and shades/corrals for more horses. Since we recently purchased the property you will see subtle changes made to the property as we go about making these improvements.

Five Star Experience
It was a total pleasure staying at this property. The owners, Caroline and Charles, are absolutely delightful. They have achieved that balance between being kind and friendly hosts to offering guests the serenity and beauty their property has to offer. We will absolutely stay with them again. Don't hesitate to book this. This place is a gem! Offers all amenities and then some.
Beautiful and thoughtful guesthouse.
The property is ideal for two people to enjoy a little bit, or a lot, of relaxation and is rather equidistantly located from many of the interesting and beautiful things to do in the area.
Everything was SPOTLESS, truly. It is very well equipped in every aspect and many cozy, yet functional touches have been added.
A thorough and helpful local attractions booklet was so nice to have available to assist with getting oriented. There was nothing extra that we could have even thought to ask for.
There are areas outside to sit, relax, and watch the birds. We were even lucky to hear owl hoots right above us in the trees on the property, albeit you need to be a true night owl or very light sleeper.
There is even a BBQ we used for a proper steak dinner one evening. All the touches of home!
A lot of care has clearly been put into the house. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next chance to stay here.
What we liked: This place is secluded, yet convenient to the local small towns and attractions. It's well furnished; you can sit comfortably, sleep comfortably. The kitchen is simply equipped, all we needed. The back yard was a hub of activity for a variety of birds. The place is well kept inside and out. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable. They were wonderful about being available when we needed them, and giving us our space otherwise. We can absolutely picture ourselves staying here anytime we're in the area.
What we didn't like - all these great reviews are going to force us to share this wonderful place with others.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback on your stay. We truly enjoyed meeting you and genuinely hope that you will come back and stay longer next time.
Peaceful and relaxing
This was a perfect place to relax and get away. I really loved the back porch and watching listening to the many birds in the morning.
Caroline and Charles were wonderful hosts and I really enjoyed hearing some of the local history.
Cindy and Robert Pouliot

Beautifull Cozy house
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hosts were kind, & respectful. Beautiful area with great views. Would recommend to couples looking for a nice getaway.
Thank you Carlos and Maria. You are the guests that every owner hopes to have. Since we are new to VRBO hosting, you have set a high-bar. Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the 4V and we look forward to your next visit.
San Pedro Conservation Area is a birders paradise, Kartchner Caverns State Park (caverns) is a local treasure. Town of Tombstone, Cochise County is gaining recognition for the local wineries ( several that make a good day trip), Historic mining town of Bisbee and Queen Mine tours, Benson Historic Museum, Amerind Foundation Museum and Art Gallery. If you are traveling with horses and like to trail ride, there are many places within a resonable distance to trailer your horse and ride for the day.
