About Mayra Irigoyen

I have been a Realtor in South Florida for 30 years. I am committed to my clients and my guests. Good communication is the cornerstone of any successful relationship. You can count on me to provide you with the information you need on a schedule and timely manner that suits you best.

Mayra Irigoyen purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Mayra Irigoyen chose Georgia

It all started when a Real Estate Company came to South Florida to introduce us Floridians the beauty of owning a piece of land in the mountains. As they showed us the videos and pictures I decided to take a trip to Northern Georgia Mountains and see it for myself. I went in the most magical time of the year, the fall. The changing of the leaves was amazing. As I fell in love with every scenery and natural beauty I couldn't resist and I purchased a lot in a cul-de-sac which has more privacy and mountain views.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin was built with every comfort in mind. My husband and I took extra consideration in building this cabin. We wanted space and privacy for each room so we added a bathroom to each bedroom; we also wanted entertainment so we built a finished basement and added pool table, foosball, basketball hoop and other games. This cabin is great for family gatherings, retreats as well as a romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay.

  • 4 of 5

This place fit our family well with lots of activities and plenty of space. The downstairs never got cool at night and the wifi was very spotty(only noticed this because our daughter that's in college was trying to submit a paper and had a hard time) but other than that really relaxing place to be.

It was fun to get away from work and enjoying the mountain

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice place to be able to get away from work for the weekend, and spend time at the cabin, go swimming, spend time with the family. We will be doing this again next year.

Great place to stay if you want to get away from it all!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is a nice one and if you are looking for a cabin in the middle of the woods with no neighbors around, this is the cabin for you.

Pros: cabin is all by itself with no neighbors for at least a 1/4 mile in every direction. There is a really nice back porch overlooking the woods with a grill and a table and chairs. The interior of the cabin was super clean and it is really nice with nice appliances, etc. The owner is super responsive and you can usually always get her on the phone or email within a few minutes to an hour.

Cons: Internet is terrible. It is technically high speed, but while we were there download speed was never higher than .76 mbs! That is faster than dial up but not high speed by any stretch of the imagination. If you just want to check emails or do some light web surfing, it will work fine. If you want to do Netflix or anything more intensive, it will just lead to frustration.

The Satellite TV reception is terrible as well. It has a couple of nice TVs in the house, it has Dish Network, but about 75% to 80% of the time, it says there is no signal. The house does have a couple of DVD players and they do have DVDs available, so that is what you are going to be mostly watching. The DVD selection is what you would find in the bargain bin at Walmart, so if you want to quality movies or shows you might want to bring your own stuff.

Access to the cabin. The gated resort is nice, but the roads inside the resort are super narrow, steep, and winding. If you have a normal car or SUV it is fine although getting in and out of there is not something you want to do more than once a day. If you are going there, stock up on food, and then just hibernate at the cabin for a week. That would be the best way to do it.

So overall, my opinion of the cabin is good. If it was just myself and my wife, and we could have just hibernated here for a week, I would have loved it. But I brought four kids that love watching videos and playing games on line or watching TV, that was frustrating. It may not be an issue for you, but I just wanted to make the next person aware of the situation.

Owner's Response: Dear guest, thank you for your candied feedback and for choosing our cabin for your stay.. Our main goal is to have our guests feel as comfortable and welcome in our cabin as they do in their own home. I'm happy to hear that your overalls stay was good. I do apologize you had issues with the Internet and dish. I had management company come in to check the dish TV and found it working with no interruptions. The remote control however can be tricky, if the wrong button is pressed then you will get no signal. I know this because it has happened to me also. In reference to the Internet if all parties are using their electronics at the same time unfortunately it will slow down. I myself have the fastest speed in our home and when my daughter and husband are watching Netflix and YouTube at the same time it slows down for me as well. We love our guests and we try our best to accommodate each and everyone. Thank you for being our guest.
