Breakwater Village Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, sun room w/ double bed, sleeps 6 (4 ADULTS MAX PLEASE)

Our beautiful home has access to a private beach and has recently been entirely renovated, including hardwood & tile flooring, new wrap-around porch & roof deck, and an all new bath. With lots of windows & skylights, it has an open, airy feel and gets great ocean breezes. The gas fireplace in the living area provides ample warmth & coziness to the entire home in the colder months. From the roof deck, enjoy panoramic views of open ocean, Pt. Judith Lighthouse, Block Island, and Pt. Judith Harbor of Refuge where the Block Island Ferry comes and goes. Located in the lovely community of Breakwater Village, which appeals to people of all ages, our home is a mere 2 minute walk to our private beach. It is also conveniently located to many restaurants, all within a few miles and many within walking distance - like Charlie O's, Aunt Carries, Aunt Carries Ice Cream, Iggy's, Hammerhead Grill and more. Also walk to surfing and fishing near the Light House.

* Possible weekly and weekend off-season rentals:

AMAZING HOME AND OWNERS

  • 5 of 5

Beth and John are fantastic to work with. I dealt mostly with Beth and she was very responsive and provided the details I needed to make my visit one to remember.

To say their house is perfect is an understatement. The house has all the accommodations of home. It is nicely furnished and extremely clean (actually it is spotless). Beth and John provide you with the bed linens and bath towels. They have thought of the fundamental kitchen tools, dishes, utensils and cooking needs so that you do not have to take too many things with you. My favorite room to sleep in was the front room, it has windows on three sides which provides a nice breeze throughout the night and the smell of fresh ocean air is so refreshing. The larger bedroom (with queen bed) has an amazing breeze so that it almost feels air conditioned in there. The house was so open that we actually needed to put on a sweatshirt a few nights but that was such a refreshing change from the city heat (we opted for sweatshirts rather than closing any of the many windows). The house is on a corner lot which provides you with a significant amount of room, lots of privacy and more than enough parking spots (a number of the other houses in this area are very close together and do not provide you with this luxury). There is a short walk to a beautiful private beach, to a small public beach (the dog beach) and to the lighthouse (all of which I would suggest). The rooftop deck is great for watching the beautiful sunsets and for star gazing at night. The front deck is a nice place for you to eat lunch or dinner or to just relax and read a book (watching the sun come up from there is a treat also). At least once during your visit you must take an outdoor shower. It feels great and they have both hot and cold running water. The private beach is a very short walk away. It is nice to be able to get up in the morning and walk to a beach which is NEVER over crowded or noisy. Regardless of the time you decide to make your way down to the beach there is always a spot available for you to lay your blanket down. The water was warm on my visit and I spent a significant amount of time sitting in a tube just soaking up the sun.

If I could provide more than a 5 star rating I would. This was certainly a trip to remember. Very relaxing and their home felt like home the minute we walked through the front door! Thank you John and Beth for a trip for the record books.

Great cosy cottage...fantstic owners

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few days at this property and were pleasantly surprised because we got much more than what we expected. The beach is really close and so is the lighthouse. The view is lovely and the surroundings very quiet. The home is very well equipped with good electronics (television, washer/dryer, home audio, etc.) and the kitchen was very well provided for. Although we were travelling with a 20-month old, we did not miss anything. The owners are extremely cognizant of our comfort and did several small things that made our stay pleasant. For example, there was a restaurant in the neighbor which may not have been ideal for families and they indicated that on a map (of the area).

I would be really happy to visit again.

Thank you

One of the best beach homes we've ever visited!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely beach cottage with all the amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay relaxing on the upper and lower decks. The views of the ocean and area from the upper deck were great! Also, enjoyed the private beach with wonderful water views. Narragansett is an ideal vacation get-away and this cottage on Point Judith just made us feel at home. We will be returning!!

Lovely, clean and spacious.

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay and my kids want to stay in this same house next year. I brought all my own linens, but you don't have to if you prefer not as they provide everything. Towels, pillows, sheets & blankets and the kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots & pans etc. Loved the washer and dryer... Was very helpful!

Best part of my summer!

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure of staying at this beach house for one week in the summer of 2010 and the summer of 2011. Unfortunately, last year I was in the process of moving at the time I would have had to book our stay at the cottage, so we were unable to vacation at this beautiful location for our third summer. I didn't realize how much I would miss it! The owners, Beth and John, are absolutely wonderful! The home is beautifully decorated, clean, convenient, VERY close walk to private beach and just absolutely perfect for a vacation! Iggy's is also a short distance from the home and had the most delicious clam cakes I have ever had! We also went to Scarborough Beach for a day ( few miles from the home ) which was amazing! CLEAN and clear water, clean sand, awesome waves and overall a great time! We also went kayaking ( the owners leave a binder on the counter full of fun things to do in area, places to eat, etc, it is VERY helpful! ) for our first time! Both vacations made for a wonderful vacation and wonderful memories! We are going to do everything we can to ensure we book another week for this summer and every summer after :)

Living and vacationing on the coast of beautiful Rhode Island Sound is truly wonderful! In addition to our private beach, Roger Wheeler & Scarborough State Beaches are also only 1.5 and 2 miles away. Our home is conveniently located to many wonderful restaurants - from small, casual chowder houses and places geared to families, like Aunt Carrie's, Iggy's & George's - to upscale, romantic dining at Spain - to the laid back sports bar at Charlie O's ...and many more! Block Island is so beautiful and offers more beaches and dining choices and the Ferry is only 2 miles away. There is now high-speed ferry service for those of you who just can't wait to get there! Oceanside Narragansett Pier is only minutes away and offers further dining & entertainment options. Newport, a 30 min drive, has so much to offer for everyone; fabulous shopping, fantastic dining, the Cliff Walk, Mansion tours, theaters, & more. And if you're looking to take a chance and play some golf, visit nearby Foxwoods!
