'What a great spot! Thanks for such wonderful hospitality and the notes were so helpful…………………..Thanks again for everything. Next time we'll have to stay longer. There's so much to do and great places to explore in the area.'

'Just wanted to send a note that we’ve arrived home safe and sound after a wonderful week up at your cottage. We didn’t have the best weather until the last two days, but we enjoyed watching movies when it rained and just relaxing. It was exactly what the Doctor ordered.

Thanks for all the notes around the cottage to help out!'

Ashley

'It was a beautiful cottage; the screened-in porch was a dream come true. We had a wonderful week listening to the loons and watching the flycatchers do their work. We'd happily recommend your place to any of our friends looking for a week away.

Thanks again,

Kirk'

'On the front porch off the kitchen we had morning coffee and ended our day there with afternoon cocktails, all the while taking in the incredible view; we ate every meal in the beautiful room beside the kitchen – it was amazing with the morning’s fresh air and cool evening breezes sweeping through the screens………….. Irene.

'I just want to thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful cottage, it was beyond our expectations! Five days was just not enough. Here are a couple of pics of our family enjoying your cottage. Thanks for the tips re: fishing, we had great success!

Thank you'. Charlena

'We're back! We had a wonderful time. It was soooo relaxing, it felt like we were away for a week. The cottage is on such a nice lake and it was incredibly quiet. We ended up sleeping on the futon, which was surprisingly comfortable.....we seriously slept so deelpy, and so much, because it was super quiet. It was just what we needed.

We really enjoyed sitting on the screened porch every morning for breakfast and lunch, but spent most of our days lying on one of the floating docks sunbathing and reading,or our evenings with Greg fishing, and me reading in the boat. It was so peaceful. Thanks for all your help and letting us rent your home. We'll definately be back again....we were so sad to leave. Once I get my pictures on the computer, I'll email you some.

Talk to you soon'. Lorian

'we LOVED staying at your cottage. As soon as we walked in the front door, we were struck by how homey everything felt and really looked forward to unwinding there for the week. We also marvelled at how you obviously put so much time and effort into the Victorian cottage decor. The views from the kitchen and screened porch were really beautiful -- it was nice seeing just row boats, canoes, and paddle boats go by rather than the constant zooming of motor boats. Although the shallow part was too silty for our young children to stand, they enjoyed going out to the swim docks and accessing the water from there. The easy access to Haliburton and other nearby beaches was also a nice plus. We put the information you left in your detailed orientation binder to good use. Thanks again for a really lovely week. We would love to come back again!

Dianne'

'Just wanted to thank you for letting us enjoy your cottage for a week. We had a great time!

It was the first time for me to try out fishing and I was happy that I actually caught a fish. We also enjoyed two rounds of golf at Blairhampton golf course and enjoyed the scenery as much as the golf. Haliburton is a great little place and we enjoyed the arts and crafts fair there on Friday. Of course enjoying our meals overlooking the lake was just fabulous! To top off the day with a fire at the lake's edge was perfect. I enjoyed the lovely garden and the sun in the afternoon at the front of the cottage.'

*Lakefront cottage with a beautiful tranquil view.

*Enjoy your morning coffee, the sounds of nature and beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the balcony or screened porch.

*Lake Negaunee is a small, quiet, and clear, NO MOTOR boat lake.

*A very safe lake to swim and play in.

Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Kelly's cottage for the Thanksgiving weekend. The view from the cottage is to die for and the fall colours were beautiful. We especially loved the large screened-in porch during meals with its cosy seating.

Kelly was easy to communicate with over email and very accommodating. If you are looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, this is it!

Perfect cottage for nature loving family

  • 4 of 5

That was a real pleasure to stay at your cottage. All my family enjoyed there and the fishing was awesome!!!! The interior met exactly cottage life atmosphere for a perfect stay; just a bit stuffy. The owner was very responsive to all our inquiries before and during our stay at the cottage.

Definately would recommend this cottage.

Thank you very much,

Ann.

Basking in the fall splendour

  • 4 of 5

My 4th stay at the cottage. The fall colours were spectacular. Wonderfully peaceful walks surrounded by towering autumn coloured trees. I was lucky enough to witness the complete process until all of the leaves were gone. No matter. The white birch everywhere are just as beautiful bare. If you're looking for a simple, warm and welcoming cottage with no fancy frills, this is it, spring, summer or fall. 2 bathrooms are nice to have... water pressure is not as strong as in the city but you'll always enjoy the hot showers. If you want a quiet, no nonsense and simple retreat, this it. I was fortunate this time to enjoy two deer who spent an afternoon on the steps down to the lake and around the cottage. Find your favourite reading spot and you're good for hours. Beautiful views from all windows. Very quiet and private.

Fall Fun

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fabulous fall weekend at Kelly's Haliburton hideaway.

In October the surroundings are still lush wile the smell of the fall permeates the air. From the wild woodland garden to the wood finished interior...from the beautiful eat-in kitchen to the Parisian motif bath...this getaway was perfect. The screened in porch with forest views was clearly the finest feature of this cottage and the view from the floor to ceiling windows facing the lake are not to be missed. Thanks for the great visuals and the R&R!

Quiet peaceful getaway in a cozy, inviting cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 (plus dog) just returned from a week away at Kelly's cottage. This is a perfect cottage for those seeking a quiet getaway. Everything you need is there, so all you really have to pack are your clothes, towels and linens. We ended up picking up our groceries on the way in...just an easy 20 minute drive from the cottage.

We watched the lake every morning from the back deck before we headed out for a ride on their boat to fish/swim. We read books, watched movies, enjoyed small bonfires, played boardgames, relaxed....if you are looking to steer away from the busy lakes filled with noisy water crafts, then consider this lovely cottage. It's an ideal living space for family wishing to reconnect, unwind and escape.

For those with dogs...hang on to your pup until you get him into the boat and onto the wooded rafts (otherwise they"ll get pretty mucky from the shoreline)...on day one, our dog bolted for the water before we had a chance to notice. It wasn't a big deal, but it'll save you having to scrub him down the first day you get there:)

Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cottage, we had such a great time!

Perfect for a simple, quiet, private retreat

  • 4 of 5

Had a very relaxing couple of weeks here. Ideal for quiet reading, meditation, catching up on movies and dvds. Cabin is situated on the top of a hill so it's a bit of a hike to get up and down to the lake. There is no beach or swimming at the property. You will need to paddle out to one of the swimming platforms. Fairly quick drive to town to get any supplies you need. No issues with the cabin. It's very rustic and charming but surprisingly large. The very large screened-in room was a favourite spot to read. Only quibble would be that the mattresses were somewhat uncomfortable but that is often the charm of roughing it in the woods. I expect I'll be back again.
