The exceptional apartment location, 10 place Saint Sulpice, is in the historical center of Paris. Excellent bus and subway facilities around.
The sunny and cosy apartment is located on the fifth and top floor (with elevator), with a superb view on the large St Sulpice square.
The living room includes a TV corner, a meal corner and an open kitchen. The spacious bedroom includes a queen-size bed, a desk and a washbasin corner. The shower opens on the room.
The apartment provides a very complete set of amenities, including free unlimited phone calls to 103 countries in the world.
We are a retired couple, puting up his pension by renting out the apartment occupied by one of our sons before his wedding ; and we like making friends from all origins.
Before retirement, Claude was a top juge in the french Cour des comptes (equivalent of US General Accounting Office). He has been seconded very often to become project leader of lots of projects financed by World Bank and European community and located in 61 countries all over the world, dealing mainly with Institution building and fight against corruption.
Lucile has been executive manager of a real estate agency.
We have been rather perfectionist in our professional life, and we are still keen to help our guests having a memorable stay in Paris.
We are crazy about out very young grand-children, and our life is still very active. Welcome !
Cornuau Claude purchased this apartment in 1812
Bought by our ancestors when built during french revolution, always occupied by Claude's family (he was even born in the house).
By far the best location in Paris (proof : highest price in Paris for dwelling units). A location together central and quiet, superb environment, easiest access to every point of interest in Paris. Extremely clean and warm apartment, Lucile is crazy about cleanliness... See reviews !
My husband and I spent a week in this very comfortable, clean and perfectly located apartment. The owners are wonderful to work with and extremely helpful and full of excellent recommendations for restaurants, bakeries and the "how to's" of navigating Paris. We had such a fantastic time here! The apartment is spotless and very quiet even though it is right in St. Sulpice Square which is, in our opinion, the best place to stay because of it's central location on the Left Bank. You can walk everywhere from here and we did. We wholeheartedly recommend this lovely apartment and we also think Claude, the owner should be the official spokesperson for Paris. He really is a national treasure:-)
We just returned from our Paris trip. What a GREAT time!! Owners are MOST helpful with itinerary/travel arrangements etc. The apartment was spotless! It's very conveniently located and fulfilled all our needs and more! We would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment.
We have travelled to Paris for Christmas and New Years for the past four years and have stayed in Claude and Lucile's apartment . They are wonderful hosts, non-intrusive but always available. The apartment is comfortable and well supplied (e.g. coffee, tea, kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, toiletries). The apartment also gets great light. The location in Paris could not be better. The apartment is a block from the Luxembourg Gardens, close to the Metro, museums and great shopping and restaurants. The apartment overlooks Place St. Sulpice and the view never gets old. It's one of the nicest and most convenient neighborhoods in Paris.
Just finished our 2nd stay at this apartment in 3 years. Spent 2 weeks here and as all the previous reviews, it is fantastic, and in one of the best locations.
Claude and Lucile take care of everything; all the amenities one needs, as well as endless suggestions on things to do and excellent recommendations. They even keep a 3 ring binder of activities within Paris, as well as day trips outside of Paris, with detailed instructions and directions. He also is quick with restaurant suggestions based on your tastes. Claude was also very helpful during an unplanned power outage. He was right there, looking for the cause of the outage, and corrected it immediately.
The neighborhood is also wonderful. Full of shops and restaurants, very safe, always brimming with activity. It is also a very short walk to Luxembourg Gardens. For those using the Velib bike sharing service, there is a station just a block away.
This is the perfect apartment for two travelers in Paris. The location (center of Paris) and view -- looking out at St. Sulpice church and square from one of the four windows and a short walk to Luxemburg garden (nice, safe neighborhood) -- is superb.
The owners and managers of the rental are the kindest and most considerate people I have ever met. They have gone over the top in providing many amenities such as blow-dryer, iron, TV, radio, CD player, free international calls phone, coffee maker (Nespresso, easy and delicious coffee), etc. They also live downstairs so if you need some help with something they are right there and more than willing to be of assistance (Claude printed our boarding passes for our return flight saving us from airport check-in). Of note: They make it clear that they will not bother you during your stay unless you call on them first.
Other notes: The elevator is very welcome after a long day of walking and hiking up and down Metro stairs.
The combination washer/dryer is effective but just a few tips if you stay here: Don't use a lot of soap, wash on "mixed" and dry on "delicate" with the dryness setting set on the picture of the iron. Your clothes will be slightly damp (dry in about 20 minutes) but it only takes one and a half hours as opposed to the three and a half hours on the regular setting which causes impossible wrinkles on cotton clothes.
The only slightly negative thing I could say about the entire apartment and our stay is that the bed needs a new mattress (slightly deformed in the middle). However, despite the slight deformity it is still very comfortable and my wife and I slept very well on it.
I would heartily recommend this apartment to anyone considering a stay in Paris. My wife and I are already planning on coming back and staying in this apartment (if it is available). Book way ahead as this is, understandably, one of the most desirable apartments in Paris.
What a wonderful treat it was to spend 10 days in this apartment. There is nothing better than opening your windows in the morning to Saint Sulpice Square with its fountain and the view over the roofs of Paris. Even better, the apartment was superb: amazingly quiet, filled with light, roomy, spotless (and I do mean spotless), lots of storage, a well stocked and equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great shower and thoughtful little touches throughout that show that the owners really give consideration to their guests... (It was so perfect in fact that before we left we booked it again for our next trip!).
The location could not be better - the 6th arrondissment is very special and this apartment is right in the heart of it. Step out of the door and Luxembourg Gardens are literally down the street as are incredible restaurants, world famous bakeries, shopping - you name it... All close enough to access on foot but without having the headache and noise of more "touristy" areas. You feel like you are part of a neighborhood, a local rather than just a visitor.
The owners Claude and Lucile live in the same building and are most gracious hosts. They are people of honor and integrity and treated us kindly and with great courtesy. Their assistance is available should you require anything - from tea to recommendations for day trips to taxi reservations - yet they are very respectful of renters' privacy. We are frequent travelors to Paris and have not had a better experience. We recommend this apartment without any hesitation.
The exceptional apartment location, 10 place Saint Sulpice, is at the center of Paris, close to Saint-Germain-des-Pres and Luxembourg gardens.
Around is a network of small and picturesque historical streets connected with well-known Boulevard Saint-Germain, with antique shops and galleries, top fashion shops, lots of restaurants and fashion cafés. Every Parisian flocks into this area on Saturdays and holidays.
The highest number of bus lines cross in this area and split into every directions, going to any place of interest in Paris. Subway stations of two different lines are also less than two hundred meters distance.
