Lovely place!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is just perfect!

When we arrived on Saturday (later than planned), we were welcomed by the lovely and helpful manager Renate, who helped us settle and gave a lot of useful information about Palamos and its surroundings. During our stay she was promptly answering all our questions about the neighbours and the household.

The house is located on a private terrain with 7 other houses, sharing the small walking area and the swimming pool. It has a private garage and a near-private entrance (shared with one neighbour). Description on the site is accurate.

The house was clean; all appliances were in good condition, everything worked fine.

Distance to the sea is about 50 meters, across a local road with minor traffic. Distance to the city centrum (Palamos) is a couple of kilometres. We preferred to walk.

There are big supermarkets (Aldi, Mercadona) at a few kilometre distance - a car is very useful to have.

The gorgeous swimming pool is being cleaned every morning. It has a place for small children and a much deeper section where adults would not be bored. The water was generally warmer in the swimming pool than in the sea in June.

There’s a nice garden around the house.

The sea-view from terrace is magnificent.

The place is very quiet and beautiful. We quickly felt at home and did not want to leave.

Thanks Irene and Renate for this holiday! We would definitely consider going there again.

The description of the property was accurate and the communication with the owner worked well. Also the local contact was really pleasent. The house is located close to the beach and the small villa community was very quiet and well taken care of. The own garage is really convenient. The house is appropriately equipped with all you may need during your stay, unfortunately no Wifi. As the pool is directly in front of the house, it is possible to sit on the terrace and watch the kids swim at the same time. We really liked the beach of La Fosca which is nice to swim and the sand is great. Palamos is the nearby town and offers a lot of shops and restaurants. It is easy to reach, especially by car. A little bit more sophisticated barbecue would be nice. Another thing would be the stairs from the terrace to the garage. These are really steep and long, but unfortunately there is no door to secure the stairs from smaller children. That was not a problem for us, but kids smaller then 3 years should be watched.

We would like to come back maybe even for a longer time, we enjoyed our time there.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

  • 5 of 5

Very pleasant place

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lot our stay in La Fosca (2 weeks : August 20 to September 3, 2016). The house is very closed to the beach and the sea is full of many fishes. This was the opportunity to make beautiful divings. The house is very pleasant, spacious and confortable. We enjoyed the terrace just in front of the swimming pool of the residence. The residence is quiet. The opportunity to park one car in the garage was very convenient. Furthermore the area is beautiful, allowing numerous visits. The exchanges with the owner were very pleasant. She sent us lots of practical informations. The check-in and the check-out of our stay were well organised.

Super vakantie in La Fosca!

  • 5 of 5

El Galleo tapasbar in Palamos. El Gallo tapasbar in Sant Feliu en in Callela de Parafrugell ijsroom L'Enyaneta. Zeker doen!

Family with 2 children

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time in this apartment. The kitchen was well equipped, good mattresses (not often in Spain), great location for those who would like a quiet holiday. We appreciated the short way to the beach and that the children could swim in the pool while we could sit on the terrace. We will definitely consider this apartment for our next holiday.

Palamós

Palamós was originally founded in 1277 and is in the heart of the Costa Brava. The old town is washed by the crystal sea and close to the coastal mountains. Enjoy Palamós' beautiful beaches and creeks, where the locals are friendly and welcoming, and where the diving is good. There are plenty of quiet roads for cyclists to enjoy. Walkers and runners will enjoy the miles of spectacular coastline.

There is a good choice of restaurants in both the old and new parts of the town. For traditional Mediterranean fare try some of the fish restaurants close to the main harbor. Nightlife is fairly low-key, although there are some establishments where locals and tourists alike enjoy music and dancing until the early hours.

Culture and Fiestas

The old town has some fine churches, and in the local area there are several castles. The Fishing museum in the old fishing port is also very interesting.

There are colorful and exciting fiestas in Palamós. The festival of San Juan in June fills the streets, and the festival of Carmen fills the sea with a procession of boats in August.

Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is the sum of amazing sensations from Blanes to Portbou. Nature plays a starring role in the form of three natural parks (Cap de Creus, Aiguamolls de l'Empordà and Montgrí, the Medes Islands and the Baix Ter area): three distinctive settings, three areas of great biological importance. The coastline will also take your breath away with the beauty of its superb beaches and heavenly coves nestled among cliffs, not to mention typical Mediterranean towns such as Cadaqués or Calella de Palafrugell, and unique beauty spots such as the bay of Roses, Banyoles lake, and the botanical gardens of Santa Clotilde, Pinya de Rosa, Marimurtra and Cap Roig.

The Costa Brava also boasts an array of cultural assets: sites that display the wonderful legacy of Salvador Dalí in Empordà; the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes or the castle of Peratallada; mediaeval towns such as Tossa de Mar, Púbol or Pals; the ruins of Empúries, a major archaeological site providing a fascinating insight into how the ancient Greeks and Romans lived; the traditional ceramics of La Bisbal; and Girona's old quarter, featuring a superb historical gem, the call (Jewish quarter).

There's much more to the Girona Pyrenees than you imagine. There's a landscape of contrasts with peaks of 3,000 metres, peaceful valleys (Cerdanya or Camprodon), and magical beauty spots such as Vall de Núria. There are white winters in top ski resorts (Vallter 2000, Vall de Núria, La Molina and Masella), with many other mountain and adventure sports to enjoy. There's the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, with almost 40 volcanoes blanketed in greenery and Fageda d'en Jordà, an impressive beech forest.

There are picturesque high-mountain towns such as Oix and Beget, and municipalities located in charming natural settings, such as Santa Pau. There are historical and cultural jewels of Romanesque architecture, such as the monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll and small rural churches scattered throughout the area. There's the mediaeval town of Besalú, a must-see tourist attraction, the cliff-top town of Castellfollit de la Roca and lively county capitals such as Ripoll, Olot and Puigcerdà, along with many other towns offering plenty to explore.

Walk, ski, run, pedal, play, sail, jump, swim and, above all, experience the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees while doing what you like the most. Everything is in place for you to come and enjoy your favourite sports at any time, thanks to a great climate suitable for activities all year round and the most fantastic natural settings that you can imagine, from the high mountains down to the sea. The only missing ingredient is you.

The Costa Brava offers you more than 200 kilometres of coastline, 17 marinas, over 30 diving centres, sailing and windsurfing schools, and three natural parks, including the important MedesIslands marine reserve. Do you need any more reasons to dive in head first?

If there were a ranking for points of cultural interest per square kilometre, the counties of Girona would surely be right near the top. Cultural experiences await you at every turn, starting with the historical legacy of the area: Palaeolithic and Neolithic settlements, remains of Iberian villages, Greek and Roman ruins, exceptional mediaeval heritage (with the noteworthy presence of Romanesque art and an outstanding and well-preserved Jewish legacy), and major modernist works.

Do not forget to explore the work of Salvador Dalí and other illustrious painters, such as those of the Olot school. As for popular culture, there is so much to discover, with ancient festivals and traditions that are deeply ingrained in the people of this region.

One day you find yourself screaming with excitement as you whiz down a slide in a water park. The next day you spend some time in Camp Nou watching FC Barcelona. Costa brava: leasure options to suit everyone!
