About Teresa A Taylor
My husband and I have owned this house since our boys were in High School here in Seaside. We are now retired and travel extensively and I couldn't bear to see my home empty without others enjoying the beach house, 1940's style. We have added modern amenities such as large TVs in both the family room and living room, Wireless internet, and Hot Tub. We have not remodeled the 1940 charm out of our house which was remodeled last in 1938 by a prominent Dentist in Seaside. The remodel was well done in the period and has withstood the time well. The house still has the pink Bakelite tile in the upstairs bathroom Mrs. Miller put in when they remodeled in 1938. Enjoy our quirky beach house on the river.

Sweet ocean getaway!
This was the perfect getaway for our family!! Very cute house that is close to the ocean and everything else you would need.
Thank you for staying at Summerplace and enjoying our home away from home. Teresa
Cute cottage with an incredible view of the river
We spent five days in the cottage and it worked well for our group. Would recommend this for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway, the setting is just beautiful.
Beautiful views and house
Truly a kid friendly house, there are plenty of toys to share and a great little area for the kids to play in the upstairs toy area. An extra sitting room was perfect for our 4 year old to play with the provided puzzles. The house is exactly as described and the paper discussing the history of the house was nice to read. Very good location in a quiet part of Seaside, yet close enough you were downtown in under 5 minutes. Looking forward to spending more time in Seaside and renting this house again.
My family and I really enjoyed our time in Seaside and this beautiful home. This house felt like home. We walked along the river in the back when tide was low... we canoed... got our crabbing license and caught crabs. The locals were very helpful on giving us pointers. Oh... the hot tub was amazing! All in all I would recommend this home. It was roomy... well cared for... and clean, which is very important for our family.
Thank you for staying at Summerplace Melissa. I'm glad you enjoyed our house and Seaside, come back and stay with us again next year.
Taylors, thanks so much for the opportunity to stay in your lovely cottage! It was as pictured but more! Very homey. There was room for everyone to spread out although we tended to be in the sunroom so we could see the river. The weather was lovely for us and we got to visit Ecola Park, Haystack Rock, Canon Beach, and the estuary. We didn't get a chance to use the canoes because we were so busy. The hot tub was wonderful too. Beds nice and comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The shower head didn't work when we arrived but they came and fixed it very quickly. Wonderful experience and we would recommend it to others. We were 5 adults but it would be a great place for little ones too.
Great place to stay!
The house is nicely furnished, the view is gorgeous, the owner is kind and responsive to questions, and the location is great and quiet (away from the main tourist hubbub of Seaside, but close enough for a nice walk to town). Two eagles nesting nearby ... had fun watching them. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
