Hi, we are Chris and Christine the owners of Haus Linhard.
We purchased Haus Linhard in 2009 and have enjoyed renovating the property in our spare time. We are both retired teachers from the UK and are keen to spend more of our time in the beautiful Salzkammergut area of Austria. We chose this area, so we can follow our passions of skiing, summer walking , landscape photography and bird watching as well as the occasional strudel & coffee tasting expeditions!
As well as enjoying stunning views of the GosauKamm mountains from our house, we are fortunate enough to have the Gosausee only a few minutes drive away. This lake has spectacular views of the Dachstein Glacier. There are many walks through the mountains from our house, which will appeal to both the casual walker and the hiking expert!
The historic towns of Hallstatt and Bad Ischl are within easy reach and offer a wealth of history & heritage. When the weather is fine, you can enjoy a relaxing boat ride across the lake at Hallstatt or if you're feeling adventurous you can take a trip to the giant ice caves in nearby Obertraun. Other places we enjoy visiting are St Gilgen, the Schwarzen See and the birth place of Mozart, Salzburg.
As we still spend some of our time in the UK, our daughter, Elle, manages the property and will look after you during your stay. She speaks English as well as some German and is only too pleased to help out with any needs you may have.
We hope you will come and stay and we are sure you will enjoy this beautiful part of the world as much as we do. We wish you a warm welcome at Haus Linhard.
