About Dennis Kelleher

My wife and I purchased this beautiful home several years ago, and look forward to spending a great deal of our retirement years here. We hope our guests enjoy our home as well as the town of Belfast and the surrounding areas as much as we do!

Dennis Kelleher purchased this house in 2007

Why Dennis Kelleher chose Belfast

The property is set up nicely for either one couple to enjoy or up to six guests. The large deck, which several Adirondack chairs that face the harbor make it for a very relaxing time. The house has been decorated by award winning interior designer Janis Stone.

What makes this house unique

The house is located near the footbridge, which provides access to the Main Street and the Belfast water front. The short walk over the footbridge provides spectacular views of the harbor. On the west side of the footbridge, the new rail to trail providers walkers, runners, bike riders a peaceful venue to enjoy views of the harbor as well. Belfast is located very close to the towns of Camden, Northport, Lincolnville, Searsport. There is a beautiful maritime museum in Searsport. Moosepoint State Park is a 3 minute drive to the north, and Fort Know and the Penobscot Observatory is a 15 minute drive to the north.

The town has such a quaint feel to it. There are several restaurants to visit, some on the waterfront and a few on Main Street. All very casual and perfect for a couple or families.

We have a good collection of books and movies for our guests to enjoy during their down time.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage - it is lovely - the weather was beautiful. We left about 9:00 on Sat, and everything was as we found it. A table on the deck would be nice because it would be great to eat breakfast outside - the mornings were just beautiful.

Note from Owner: After Marianna and her family's departure we purchased a nice picnic table for the deck. The table compliments the adirondack chairs that are located on the lower deck.

Rented this property off season in November and December to provide medical services in the Belfast area. Great place to come home and relax after a day of toil--wish I had had more time and better weather to partake of the class A view of the Harbor from upper and lower decks and to make use of the footbridge to easily access all of the restaurants and attractions of Belfast across the Bay---I'm sure during peak season that this, also, would be my choice of homes to rent----close enough to hit all the attractions across the Bay but with no crowds teaming around the premises. Owners very accessible by phone, if needed, and local friends of owner responsive to any needs. Thanks Dennis!

Great stay in Belfast!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the cottage in Belfast was great! It was the ideal location to stay to explore coastal Maine. The footbridge into Belfast made it very easy to walk into town each day to explore as well. The cottage had all of the amenities needed for our stay. We spent many mornings and evenings on the porch enjoying the view. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had the good fortune to stay for 2 weeks in August at Dennis and Kerry's very sweet cottage in Belfast. Having stayed in many VRBO type accommodations, I must say theirs was at the top. Any question we had Dennis was available very quickly to answer. The amenities they provided was beyond what is usually found on arrival. We enjoyed many hours sitting on the deck. The view is just great and so relaxing. Walking across the footbridge was a daily activity we loved, not to mention the great exercise benefit. All to say thank you very much to the Kellehers.

Prime location and cozy home! Very attentive owners.

We loved our stay here and hope to return. Such attention to detail and cleanliness… right down to chilled water bottles in the fridge! We were so close to town, enjoyed the walking bridge and trails, and even got to experience fireworks while sitting on the deck during the Maine Celtic Festival. We have stayed in a number of private lodgings and would highly recommend this location to everyone❤. You simply can't beat the convenience and charm. And the deck…wow! We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view of beautiful Belfast. One week is simply not enough.

Truly a home away in Belfast Maine!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! For a family of five (2 adults, 3 teens ages 14, 17, 18) it was a perfect fit - great location, super clean, wonderful amenities, and very comfortable! The kitchen is new and stocked with all the essentials including coffee filters/dish soap/towels, the dining room is a great place for a family meal or after dinner board games, the living room furniture is cozy with plenty of movies, games, books, and travel brochures to enjoy, the bathrooms are nicely stocked with fuzzy towels/soaps/toiletries, and the bedrooms are just lovely - beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds, soft sheets/blankets, lots of pillows, and books!! We all appreciated the AC and the technology - wi-fi/satellite/dvd player. This house is more than a homerun - it's a grand slam!!

Great location does not even begin to describe Belfast Maine. This is a beautiful harbor town within a short walking distance down the street and over a delightful footbridge. We kayaked alongside all of the beautiful sail boats and fishing vessels that fill the harbor and enjoyed the wonderful views from the walking path that meanders along the waterfront. There are numerous restaurants and shops to explore - we enjoyed dinner at the Nautilus Seafood & Grill, coffee at the Co-Op, croissants & yummy cookies at MoonBat City Baking Company, and movies at the Colonial Theater. We also loved the Museum in the Street signs that explain the interesting history that helped shape the architecture, economy, and culture of Belfast today.

The location for this home in midcoast Maine makes it ideal for exploring the surrounding area. We spent a day hiking in Acadia up to Bubble Rock and then headed into Bar Harbor for a yummy meal at Geddy's, shopping, and a nice stroll along the harbor. We also enjoyed Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge - the Observatory is really fun! We spent time in Bucksport to walk along the waterfront and stopped at antique shops along the way including Mainley Pottery where we picked up some beautiful keepsakes. This is the place - run don't walk to Belfast Maine!
