Overview

North Hatley House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 7(+3)

LeBaron Manor is a fully restored turn of the century house located in the centre of North Hatley, only a few minutes walk from the main street. Situated on a beautiful 1 acre lot, the Manor has over 250 feet of waterfront (with boat dock) on the Massawippi River, and provides an excellent base for family vacations, romantic get-aways, and business meetings. The fully furnished, 4-season house sleeps up to 10 people, has excellent views of the river and forested hills to the north, and has a home office (pc, internet, desk). A covered veranda extends along three sides of the house and provides a great location to relax. The orchard in the manor’s grounds offers a great place to picnic or play.

The Manor is an excellent venue all year. In the summer enjoy canoeing the river Massiwippi, cycling the traffic free Route Verte, or just relaxing on our 1 acre waterfront property. In winter there are multiple downhill ski runs within a short drive away, while fall colours are breathtaking.

Why Murielle Pelletier chose Quebec

We bought the house in 2007 and have operated it for year round vacation rentals ever since. Whenever it's not being rented we love spending time there. Before purchasing the house we had looked at many properties but knew when we first set eyes on LeBaron Manor that we had to buy it. It's a beautiful house that has been used for vacations for over a century, and we've maintained its period charm while ensuring it has all the modern necessities. The Manor is located only a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants of one of the Eastern Townships most beautiful villages - North Hatley - yet is also very peaceful and secluded, located on the Massawippi River. We just recently added a new boathouse which can take 2 canoes, or one small boat, and landscaped the waterfront with the addition of a split rail wood fence.

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location. We have 1 acre in the heart of North Hatley only a stones throw from the village centre. In the summer you can canoe across the river to go to the weekend farmers market, which is a favourite with out guests. Kids love the garden, and parents will love relaxing in the hammock or enjoying a beer on the veranda.

We highly recommend it!

This "manor" was just right for our brief vacation in North Hatley. The location is great, and the house is well appointed, well stocked, and very clean. We especially enjoyed the fireplace, since the weather was cold and damp. We only wish there had been some snow!

North Hatley was described by the Lonely Planet as the 'the cutest of all the cute Eastern township towns.' The village is a 90 minute drive southeast of Montreal and approximately 20 min from the Vermont border. Nearby towns include Sherbrooke and Magog. Long a vacation spot, the village of 800 people is nestled at the north end of the beautiful Lake Massawippi. Vacationers have included former French president Jacques Chirac, while the current Quebec premier Jean Charest regularly spends his vacation here. The beautiful setting has inspired a strong artistic and literary tradition among community residents: village authors have scooped eleven literary awards including a Pulitzer Prize. Shops in the village centre display local artwork along with a wide selection of Quebec antiques, with cafes, pubs and well-known restaurants providing relaxation for those looking to get away from it all.

Other Activities: kayaking, sleigh rides, fine dining, festivals, local pub, coffee shops, farmers market
