Fowey is a picture-postcard seaside town on the South Cornwall coast with a proud maritime heritage and considered by many to be one of Cornwall s most idyllic year round holiday spots. Rows of pastel-coloured houses cling to the steep hillside that looks out over the bay. The neighbouring town Polruan is situated across the estuary. Fowey plays host to a number of major events including the Royal Regatta and the Daphne Du Maurier Literary Festival both take place during the summer drawing people from far and wide. The river offers a wide range of activities the surrounding countryside some idyllic walks beaches nearby whilst the town has some of the finest restaurants and bistros along with many individual shops and delicatessens all within walking distance.
