What a wonderful time we had in Oxforshire! Beatiful landscapes, manors and cities. We loved Waddesdon, the shopping in Bicester Village and the Colleges in Oxford. Great way to go! We lived a week in a so called barn: a former garage (2001) transformed (2015) into a cosy barn, sharing the grounds with a traditional cottage. The grouds were beautiful gardens, partly formal and partly roundshaped as in an English Park style.
Why we had to think about mrs. Bucket? Well, check "Hyacint in the Country". The "concealed entrance to the en-suite through the wardrobe" - as stated in the webtext about the Barn - means you really have to open the wardrobe-closet (one door, the other is fixed), hold your head if you are over 6 ft, move under the topshelf and an even lower doorpost to get in the "compact showr and WC room". And yes, the gardes were very beautiful in their better days. Now the weeds are overgrowing even the old mowing machines. Please, give the garden a little extra to show it again as it was in its former state!
But: we had a great time and we find Amanda a great, very friendly hostess.
