Stay inside of Yosemite National Park, this home is located in the development of Yosemite West which provides the closest accommodations to Yosemite’s three main attractions, the waterfalls in Yosemite Valley, the Glacier Point overlook and Badger Pass Ski area, and the Giant Redwoods in the Mariposa groove of big trees.
Previously known as the Yosemite Falls Bed & Breakfast, Yosemite Mountain Lodge is now a private vacation rental and offers amenities designed for entertaining family and friends.
The home features three master bedrooms and four full baths. The interior living space is 4000+ sqft and includes: a game room with sunken bar and pool table, 1000sqft kitchen and dining room, a large dining room table that seats 18 comfortably, two living rooms, one with view of the Sierras and the other with a 65”' flat screen TV (surround sound and satellite equipped), front patio with fire ring and canyon view.
I was raised in Yosemite N.P. Our home is one of the first homes ever built in Yosemite West. My parents ran it as a former B&B and we have had people from all over the world stay w/ us. I love sharing our home w/ people and families.
Michelle purchased this house in 1973
It is one of the largest homes inside Yosemite National Park. It is centrally located and has a lot of space for families and friends to gather and there is plenty of parking.
It is a one of a kind home w/ a sunken game room and Saloon. We are the only home in Yosemite West that owns all 7 lots that surround it, giving it more privacy.
On one of the lots we have a outdoor campfire ring. It is like your camping since it is set away from the home and you can view the stars and make s'mores and tell stories around the fire. Our kitchen table can sit up to 16 people and is the heart of the home to gather families and friends around.
Our three-generation family just returned from spending a long winter weekend in this fabulous home. It was perfect for us—from the 7-and 9-year olds, to the older teens, the parents, and to us grandparents! From the very beginning, Michelle displayed graciousness and patience as she answered our many questions. A few days before we were to arrive, she emailed us, letting us know a heavy snowstorm was predicted, and what we might expect. After we arrived, Michelle even called us to make certain we’d all arrived safely and found everything ok.
It was much better than ok! The long driveway had been completely cleared of snow; Betty, the housekeeper, had turned on the heat and a few lamps so that on arrival we felt warm and welcome. As others have said, the home is spacious and rambling, comfortable, and cozy. Everything in the kitchen works and there’s an ample supply of pots, pans, utensils, etc. The fridge and freezer are large enough to hold everything we brought and the counter space and cupboards are more than ample. We appreciated the little touches: lots of hand/dish towels, new sponges in plastic wrap, a basket of coffee filters, coffee, and tea, and a wide array of spices and seasonings. Everything was spotless. The bathrooms contained plenty of fresh towels, soap, and shampoo. The bedrooms had spotless linens and comfy blankets and comforters, with stacks of extra pillows (and plenty of hangars) in the closets.
We loved hanging out in the huge dining/kitchen area and made use of the firewood and wood stove. There are comfortable sofas everywhere—in the sitting rooms, the dining room and the game room. Each evening we gathered in the bar and game room—all of us, enjoyng the neighborhood pub type atmosphere and the unique wall décor and antiques the family had collected, playing pool, sipping our wine; we looked at the 100s of video titles—but never had time to put one in the player to watch on the large, flat-screen t.v. One morning the younger group had a hilarious time sledding down the hill on the property--using the array of sleds and saucers stacked on the porch.
We recommend this home highly. There’s no question: when we return to Yosemite, we’ll be contacting Michelle and renting this wonderful home-away-from home! As others have mentioned, the photos don't do the home justice--it's hard to capture. But, the description of the amenities, etc. is very accurate. Thank you, Michelle, for helping to make our weekend so special.
We had a wonderful time staying here. All the rooms were very large and comfortable. Plenty of space to either all gather together or go off and find some alone time. The kitchen is great. It had tons of space to cook and two sinks to make cleaning easier. There's also a great hiking trail near the top of Yosemite way. This was best hiking trail we found, no people and wonderful views. This place is excellent!
Stayed here for labor day weekend with family and friends. House was huge. The pictures are kind of deceiving because it was so much better and bigger then what I was expecting. Michelle, the owner?, was great and she replied with any questions we had including some recommendations on trails with our kids. Highly recommended, will stay here again. Thanks!
We just stayed here for 4 nights with a large group of extended family and friends and it was the perfect size. I agree that it feels like a hotel. I didn't feel overwhelmed by the quantity of stuff we all had because there's plenty of space for it all. The pool table and bar area were a total entertainment for the kids (ages 3-9) which I didn't even expect - thought it'd be used more by the adults, which it also was. The very large kitchen accommodated multiple cooks at once and the huge dining table with the comfy benches was a great socializing/eating/card playing/puzzle doing spot - it could literally all happen at once, it was so big, yet felt cozy. The rooms were huge, the bathrooms are all nicely remodeled, more so than the rest of the house, but it has a great homey overall feel. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the valley or Glacier Point or Wawona; very centrally located neighborhood. I would most definitely rent here again. Michelle was easy to work with too.
We stayed here with our friends and had a blast! It was close to the valley and had a some good times after the day was over. The kitchen is great for multiple people and functional. The washer and dryer were very convenient. The pictures do not do this place justice as the owners have upgraded the bathrooms, kitchen, and floors. There are plentiful of things to do around the house for both adults and kids. The bar and pool table kept us going every night....good times! The only complaints I have is one of the master bath upstairs (larger master) was not in full working condition, you will need to stagger for showers as there is not enough hot water, and the sliding door kept falling off the rail. However, the owner, Michelle was very accommodating to all these things. There is zero reception in this home, so you will not be able to contact anyone. I would reserve this home again for Yosemite.
We had so much fun staying at the beautiful home. It has the feel of a hotel!. The bar and pool table were such a hit. We stay with two families and it was a perfection fit for our families. First of all, the kitchen is amazing. I am a huge cook and everything I could think of was available. We fit 20 people for dinner around the table. What a blast. The bedrooms are enormous. Michelle was a great communicator and we have zero issues. I would book this home again in a heartbeat.
