About Michelle

I was raised in Yosemite N.P. Our home is one of the first homes ever built in Yosemite West. My parents ran it as a former B&B and we have had people from all over the world stay w/ us. I love sharing our home w/ people and families.

Michelle purchased this house in 1973

Why Michelle chose Yosemite Area

It is one of the largest homes inside Yosemite National Park. It is centrally located and has a lot of space for families and friends to gather and there is plenty of parking.

What makes this house unique

It is a one of a kind home w/ a sunken game room and Saloon. We are the only home in Yosemite West that owns all 7 lots that surround it, giving it more privacy.

On one of the lots we have a outdoor campfire ring. It is like your camping since it is set away from the home and you can view the stars and make s'mores and tell stories around the fire. Our kitchen table can sit up to 16 people and is the heart of the home to gather families and friends around.

Amazing house, amazing experience.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for 2 night with 8 people. Nothing bad to say! Location is great, right in the middle of the park. Everything was very well made when we got there (beds, everything was neat), and everything was very clear. Notes were left to let us know exactly how to work the TV and such, and the kitchen has all the utensils one could need. All the appliances worked very well. Really, the little things is what made this house most enjoyable; the fire pit in the backyard, the amazing decorations, the atmosphere, the pool room, the air fresheners, everything was beautiful. Would definitely 100% recommend.

All previous reviews accurately described this large home! We really enjoyed the home, its spacious kitchen/dining area and also the outdoor fire pit to roast marshmallows!

Spacious and Serene

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a spacious and full of character house this is the one for you! It's a perfect house for a couple of families. It's fully stocked with board games for kids and families and cassette tapes of charming old movies that will make you feel nostalgic. Though the house is spacious it felt perfectly cozy, great to come back to after a long days worth of hiking.

There's also an amazing bar area which makes you feel as if you're part of a movie. The kitchen area is lovely and roomy and the back lot outside the house is wonderfully serene- surrounded by Yosemite's signature pine trees. Overall it's a great place to stay in and you'll be sure to create amazing memories!

Michelle is very prompt and very helpful in answering any of our questions. We would love to come back and stay in this house again.

The perfect place to stay on a family trip! Like staying at a friend's vacation home.

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to entertain our family visiting from out of state. We had more things to do and see and more space to be together than we would have had in our own home. Our kids enjoyed pool tournaments against their dad and organized a game of Risk at the large family style table with their dad, cousin, and Uncle the last night of our stay. They're still talking about that! It might have been the highlight of their trip! After our trip, when asked what their favorite parts of Yosemite were they answered 1) Yosemite Falls (which was amazing this year after a phenomenal snowfall this season) and 2) the vacation home we stayed in! It's a great setting for family together time. I loved the kitchen setup that was big enough that we were all able to participate in the meal prep and it didn't have to be one person prepping alone. We used the outdoor grill 2 of the three nights we were there. When we return to Yosemite with family we will definitely look for availability at the Yosemite Lodge!

Great house for large families!

  • 5 of 5

As you will read in all the reviews, the house is very comfortable to accommodate a large group. We had 7 adults and 2 kids and it was perfect size. I was surprised on how much the family enjoyed playing pool and hanging out in the saloon (we have a pool table and bar at home and the family never uses it ). When I asked why, everyone said no wifi, so they decided to play pool, ha! So that's a plus as there is no point in hovering over your phone as there is no reception.

The kitchen was large and the table was perfect for dining and game night. The fire pit is a bonus as well. Great location and the home was very clean inside. The outside could benefit from a pressure wash of all the cobwebs during the summer and a new set of screen doors would be my recommendation. Its an old home but has a lot of charm. My family said they would certainly want to come back and stay there our next trip to Yosemite.

Michelle was very nice to work with, although she should change the check out time on the listing to 10am during the summer so there are no surprises. Other then that, it was a great weekend and we were grateful that the house was available for my size family.

Outstanding Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

This vacation home is well-located inside Yosemite National Park, spacious, with a lot of beds and bathrooms. It has a lot amenities, including a very awesome in-built bar. Excellent vacation home for large groups. The owner is very fair, pleasant, and approachable based on my conversations with her through e-mail and phone. I highly recommend it, and from now on, this would be my go-to vacation home to check out the next time I return to Yosemite.
