The Coconut Condo vacation rental is located on the sunny western Kona coast on the “Big Island” of Hawaii and features numerous luxurious amenities! From this spectacular tropical location you can watch sunsets or passing whales & dolphins. Or stroll across Ali'i Drive to Honl’s Beach and watch the boogie boarders showing off in the blue Pacific waves. The Coconut Condo is situated in a new gated complex which hosts a large natural outdoor pool, jacuzzi and workout facility. The grounds are smartly landscaped around several ancient Hawaiian archaeological sites with native tropical flowers, palms and vegetation. The Coconut Condo is beautifully decorated and has three spacious bedrooms, 2 baths, bar and dining room, living room, flat screen cable TVs, high speed internet access, central air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and a covered lanai (patio).

The Big Island of Hawaii offers a tropical vacation with spectacular sunsets, waterfalls and dramatic views of the snow covered Mauna Kea volcano. Enjoy beautiful snorkel beaches, off shore diving, quaint places to shop and world class ocean front dining along Kona's prestigious Alii Drive. Tropical weather year round and located only fifteen minutes from Kona International Airport, the Kona Coast is famous for it’s fishing and has been called the “sports fishing capital” of the Pacific. Five huge mountain masses protect the Kona coast from the winds resulting in sea conditions that are usually as calm as a lake. The steep slope of the ocean bottom puts the deep sea sport fishing within a short distance from the shoreline. Just three miles straight out of the harbor, it's over 6000' deep. If you’re interested in discovering what’s below the surface of the Pacific you are able to snorkel or scuba dive at a multitude of coral reefs or for some real excitement do a night dive with giant Manta Rays off the Kohala Coast.
Play a round at one of the dozen award winning golf courses found along the Kona Coast. In October some of the fittest athletes from around the globe descend on Kailua-Kona for the annual Ironman Triathlon. From the Coconut Condo you can walk into town to watch the start and finish of this awesome event. Other seasonal events include outrigger canoe races, as well as food and cultural festivals. Nighttime fun is only steps away at the Beachcomber Bar or Huggo’s on the Rocks with the sensational sound of the all girl band Hot Lava (808) every Friday night.
A wide variety of restaurants and food vendors are located in the Coconut Grove market place where you can eat everything from sushi to burgers, top sirloin to salads, and ice cream to subs plus buy items such as elegant jewelry, clothing, locally created artwork and crafts, and children's fashions and toys.
This was our second visit to this lovely condo and again had a great time! We stayed for a month and it felt like coming home! It is located within walking distance to restaurants and the ocean but far enough away from downtown for peace and quiet! The unit is a little far to the pool but we spent most of our time at a new beach everyday so early morning was a good time to use the exercise room and the pool and the walk was exercise as well! Lots of water equipment , coolers, chairs and a big umbrella at the condo! The kitchen was well equipped and we ate most of meals in and had everything we needed!
We enjoyed our extended stay at the Coconut Condo this summer. It was comfortable and the condo complex pool and exercise room were nice. The condo is very convenient to the village of Kailua-Kona, and we walked to the village almost every evening. (We have fitbits and had to get our steps in!) Family loved the nearby beaches!
The appliances worked well and the beds were comfortable. The art is really interesting. The lanai is a good place to sit at the end of the day and watch the sunsets.
No complaints! We've stayed at Ali'i Cove for the last three Christmas holidays and have never been disappointed. Great location for walking or running along Ali'i Drive. There are tennis courts at the Royal Kona Resort across the street and we were able to play for free by signing up for the morning round robins. Close to shops and restaurants. Great snorkelling beaches to the south and awesome body surfing ones to the north. The condo had everything we needed.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Coconut Condo for two glorious months. By the time we left it was beginning to feel like home to us. We enjoyed watching the day begin whilst sipping our morning coffee on the verandah. In the evenings we enjoyed watching the sun setting over Kona Bay hoping to see the elusive green flash...well next time. On those evenings we wanted to dine out we could choose from many good restaurants that were just a short walk to town. For those nights we dined in we found the kitchen to well kitted out for our needs. Though we had a car, we did not need to use it every day. We did, however, need it for the grocery shops, Safeway and KTA. Costco is about 10 or so minutes a bit further out.
There is a garden market in town where we could obtain our vegetables and bouquets of flowers, as needed. Again, it is a short walk to town.
The owners could not have been nicer and more responsive to our questions. We truly were sad to leave and we look forward to returning in the future.
My children and I stayed at the condo for seven weeks, in the summer of 2013 and my husband came to visit us for two of those weeks. I could say it was home away from home; however, there were some things which where better than home, namely the beds!!! Loved getting into bed after spending yet another amazing day on the Big Island.
I can only agree full heartily with all the other reviews in regard to the condo is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your daily trips out and about, to everything you need for eating in and relaxing on the balcony with a beer or a gin and tonic.
The owners of the condo, Jae and John where amazing. Being a single parent for most of the summer, I never felt like I was truly by myself. Jae on several occasions spend the day with us at the beach, invited me out for dinner with a couple of friends of hers and John even called to informed me that I should stay close to home when the Island was expecting a storm. I do recommend the condo to friends and I personally would be back there in a heartbeat. Thank you!! Jae and John for one of the best summers I have ever had.
We spent 14days at the coconut condo over xmas and New Years. Our three adult children shared a large bathroom situated between their bedrooms. Both guest bedrooms had lots of room. Our master bedroom with ensuite and walk in closet was beautiful. Our Lanai was well used as we dined outdoors most evenings. The kitchen was well equipped and had many essentials including spices were already there. We just had to replenish what we used so it was nice knowing someone would benefit from our purchases as well. We thought we would have to buy lawn chairs, coolers etc for our beach days but delighted to find them already there for our use. We also used the pool barbecues as well but it was a little far to cart everything done to eat there so most nights we used the barbecue and came back to our condo to dine. The condo was in great location for going downtown and for the beach. Our hosts were so very nice to work with and everything was exactly as advertised. Definitely recommend this rental!
With 17 Micro climates the Big Island offers a variety of recreational and entertainment possibilities. Ski Mauna Kea or snorkel in the blue Pacific Ocean. Hike the ancient Hawaiian pathways or Horseback ride in beautiful Waipio Valley. So much to do or just relax near the pool with your favorite book.
