Three bedrooms, four bath beachfront duplex with splash pool. The house features 2 living areas, Granite Counter tops in the kitchen with stainless steal appliances, and hard wood floors throughout. Pool Size: 6' X 8'. The neighborhood also features a community pool. 5 TV's 5 VCR's 5 DVD's Sleeps 8

First Floor: Den with Queen Sleeper sofa, Full bath, and wet bar, Martini Pool on deck

Second Floor: Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, Queen bedroom, Full Hall Shared bath

*Add $35.00 per day to heat the pool (available Oct-April if needed).

Tents and canopies are not allowed on the beach. Large umbrellas can be rented through the onsite beach service.

Allotted parking for three cars at the house. Please ask a preservationist about additional parking.

The Frangista Homeowner Association requires special permitting and an event fee for all weddings. Please contact a representative for additional details if you plan to host an event.

woman next to us asked us what are we doing here..... ummm we are on vacation woman!!! She thought we were breaking in as we were walking back up to the house from the beach.

Nice to stay here for the inexpensive price in the winter compared to summer prices. One and done- too many stairs/ levels but we are now spoiled by the private beach!

Owner's Response: Heather thanks for staying with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful beaches. We apologize that the pool wasn't heated during your stay. We did not charge you for the pool to be heated. AS far as the Cockroaches that you saw those are more than likely palmetto bugs that are indigenous to our area. Due to the warm winter that we had they seem to have stuck around. Luckily they actually eat plant life. We have still had the property sprayed just in case. We are sorry to hear that you don't plan on returning to the property. Just give us a call as we do have other properties that might meet your needs.

Beach front heaven

This property sits on one of the best beaches on the panhandle. Perfectly situated between Destin on one side and the community of 30A on the other. Easy access to anything and everything from restaurants to outlet shopping. Private gated beaches keep you in walking distance of 3 restaurants and 1 excellent coffee shop. Stayed two weeks and had something new to do every day.

Our family vacation was full of great memories and a few not so good memories as well

I would first like to say that the property was stunning and well maintained. The townhouse was well equipped for our family of 4. The two complaints I have are big and should be addressed. The first was while my wife was taking a nap in the middle of the day a service man walked into the house (which was locked!!!) with a code given to him by property management. My wife was scared to say the least to hear someone walking up the stairs while see and my children were sleeping. My wife called Ocean Reef Resorts (management) and spoke to someone named Chris to explain the situation and her frustration with it. Chris didn't seem to care and asked "what do you want me to do about it." I guess we were most upset because nothing was offered and for the total lack of concern, finally my wife asked to please have the code changed so it doesn't happen again! The second thing that I feel compelled to mention is that the beds are awful to sleep on. They are hard and make noise with EVERY movement. It is not our intent to slam the property because we loved the location and general look the townhouse but I do think that the two issues mentioned need to be addressed before I would stay here again.

Also, if you are planning on staying, bring dish soap as there is none. They provide two packets for two dishwashing cycles, two small trash bags, and one roll of paper towels which was good for about 3 days for us.

Owner's Response: We are glad to hear you enjoyed your recent stay with us! Shangri-La has become a favorite home among our guests over the years. A majority of our guests that rent this home come back year after year! That said we always appreciate feedback so we can better our service. The mattresses in this home are newer and of the firmer variety (not everyone enjoys a cushy mattress). We have not to date had any other complaints about these mattresses in regards to firmness or noise. This appears to be a matter of personal preference, but we will look into the matter for the sake of being thorough. In regards to the guest services representative, it should be noted that he was only at the home at your request. He tried calling ahead and rang the doorbell several times before entering per standard protocol. In the event that a guest requesting service appears to be away from the property at the time of the service call, a onetime code is issued and tracked to ensure prompt service. We can monitor exactly when the guests service representative is the unit and for how long. This matter is most assuredly not a security issue. If a guest is sleeping on the 3rd floor I can see how the doorbell and phone call may have been missed. At any rate we do apologize if he startled you. That was of course not his intention. Our aim is to offer guest services upon request in a timely fashion. Thank you again for staying with us! We look forward to your next visit!

Christmas Break visitor 2010

We loved the location. We loved that the pool was a little larger than some of the gulf front homes and that the balcony extends out a little further than the roof, however, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the pool temperature ourselves and not have to call everyday to have it reset. There were several locked cabinets and the garage was locked. I can understand that because the owners should be able to lock up personal items. The queen bed on the 2nd floor was very uncomfortable and the living room couch was uncomfortable also. I could not sleep on the bedroom mattress and tried the couch which was terrible to sleep on as well as to just sit on as the cushions were very flat. The kitchen was very well furnished with all the cooking items we could wish for. We had a wonderful time except for sleeping.
