I know my wife has written a review already, so this is just piling on. From the very beginning of dealing with the broker for Villa de Conchiglia, the ease of the financial transaction, the welcome upon arrival, the comforting feeling one gets from seeing first hand that you have received exactly what was promised and what you paid for - all I can say is that this was a first rate VRBO experience. It was a special occasion for me. I was joined by my family so there were three couples in the house. There were good bedrooms and baths to spare. Without reservation, I would tell anyone considering Villa de la Conchiglia to go forward and book it. You will have a delightful time on Capri, close to the square, away from the crowds, etc.
We just spent 5 days together with our family of 6 at Villa LaConchiglia , and we all had a fabulous holiday . The villa is beautiful , well appointed , spacious and gracious as are the pool , roof deck and lovely gardens . There were so many different spots to relax in and just hang out together or alone . Laura and Mary were so sweet and accommodating They made everything so pleasant . Gianni , our consciege , was a tremendous help with all restaurant reservations . a boat excursion and arranging at home beauty appointments .He seems to know everyone on Capri . Our stay was carefree , flawless and throughly enjoyable !
The home and experience easily surpassed our expectations.
The photo gallery does not really do the property justice.Feels larger when you are on site.
The pool set up is very charming in a beautiful garden and believe me very useful after busy hot summer days on Capri.
The home's staff felt like family. They were helpful ,warm and handled themselves professionally.
If you are looking to be close to all the action in Capri but completely removed from it in a tranquil beautiful private setting. this villa is for you!!
hOLA!
Volveremos, ¡seguro!
The island of Capri is one of the most picturesque and most visited of Campania. Its beauty and fame are known from ancient times when the ancients had tied to the myths of Ulysses and the Sirens and still attracts many visitors who make its breathtaking views, the ultimate destination. The island is karstic, separated from the mainland by a narrow, and has a number of reliefs including that of Anacapri, which is its principal. Actually it's called Piazza Umberto I, the '30s, however, was called the square, the tiny island as a center of social life, so as to deserve the nickname' Living World '. It has always been the center of life of Capri, but was once simply the square of the fish market.
It can be reached from the terrace of the funicular which offers a picturesque view. The tables of the four bars, all famous, which overlook the square are the furniture, while the curtain of palaces, all remodeled in the seventeenth century, it is the set design. The Palazzo Cerio, a construction of the Anjou, from the second half of 1300.
Next to the Clock Tower, in fact originally bell tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral, inside of which were reused for the floor materials belonging to the Villa Jovis of Tiberius.
The sea from which emerges is particularly deep, the coasts are rugged, jagged and rich in caves among which the most famous is the Blue Grotto, but what is most striking, overlooking the sea, are the famous cliffs, small rocky islets from the most varied, that seem to emerge from the deep blue waters and pointed toward the sky. The bradyseism, that is the continuous rise and fall of the tides, also present in the Blue Grotto, makes Roman ruins once on land, now almost completely submerged, you can check to see the water. Capri for the Greeks and the Romans was the island of goats, this explains its name. The Greeks colonized and became a possession of Naples, then the Emperor Augustus, who was visiting the island, flourished a dry branch and did everything to get it to Naples in exchange for Ischia. Even the emperor Tiberius fell in love and made his refuge by building more houses, not twelve, according to the Latin authors; in fact, evidence of its presence remains today its luxurious villa dedicated to Jupiter, a delightful self-imposed exile, which continued to rule the empire.
The tourist fame of Capri began the middle of 800, with the rediscovery of the fascinating Blue Grotto; became the Mecca in the Grand Tour of writers and artists of international renown who described the effects of light and the play of light shimmering in the cave.
