This was our 5th summer vacation week in LG and we've finally found a place to stay that suits us completely. The Boardwalk Cottage really has it all.
First impression was that the cottage is so well maintained and so clean. Terri obviously cares about providing a quality place for vacationers. The bathrooms were recently updated and clean. Bedrooms have very comfortable beds and the air conditioners keep everything comfortable. My family slept so well all week. The kitchen was fully stocked with all that we needed. A gas grill on the patio (which is also very nice) allowed us to stay put for dinner most nights.
The location is another plus. Right within walking distance to the beach (307 "little" steps according to my daughter), Shepard Park, the grocery store, the heart of the village, restaurants, shopping and just about everything you need.
The Cottage was just the right place for our family of 4, but I believe that a family of 5-7 would be just as comfortable.
Terri is great to work with and the staff at the Marina really makes you feel like you are at home. Needless to say, I highly recommend that you consider staying at the Cottage. We'll be returning again next summer.
The cottage was clean , well equipped & close to town. The owner was great to work with. But.. It was not on the water as pictured & the patio set in the picture belonged to another house. It did not have lake views unless you stood in the driveway. I wanted to sit at that patio set & watch the lake but our porch looked at another house. Very disappointed in the price when we didnt get what we thought we paid for. Will not stay again.
What a wonderful surprise this cottage is! My cousin stayed here a year ago and it was her recommendation that we stayed this year. This cottage is well maintained with just about everything you need. There is new furniture and beds this year with updated bathrooms. Cooking utensils and pots, dishes, cups, etc are provided. The air conditioners keep you cool day and night. It is close to the lake, Canada Street and lots of attractions, very convenient. Not too far from the thruway as well. The best: the hostess Terri. She is accommodating, helpful and just a great person. There's a surprise for you as well. We were able to bring our dog with us, another great extra. All of us enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
Great dog friendly rental!! Very clean with all the essentials you need for a nice quiet vacation. Owner was very accommodating and was easy to reach if necessary. House was extremely well maintained and great location to all the attractions in town. My husband and I loved our stay this weekend and would recommend this to friends and family!! Hope to stay again next year!! 😃
My husband and I just got back from our second stay at The Boardwalk Cottage and we could not have had a better, more relaxing time. The cottage is open, airy and bright with a high ceiling on the first floor. Everything was exceptionally clean and the kitchen is well-equipped. We had 90+ degree days throughout our stay and the wall AC's kept the cottage wonderfully cool. The spacious new full bath on the first floor and the newly remodeled bath on the second floor are the perfect additions to this already lovely space. Many dog-friendly rentals are not nearly as nice. The best feature, though, is the cottage's location--set back on a private, tree-lined property off Canada street and within a short walk of most major Lake George attractions, the grocery store and a wonderful coffee shop. We are already looking forward to our next stay here.
Our week stay at the cottage was really great, and I couldn't have picked a better spot if I tried. We really were in walking distance (even for the out of shape amongst us) to every possible worthwhile place in Lake George. This included Fort William Henry, the lakeside beach (great for bathing during the day and for viewing the fireworks on Thursday nights), Shepard's park (with nightly events), taking a three hour cruise on the Mohican, and all sorts of shopping and dining on the strip. The two bedrooms upstairs, along with the twin bed on the landing, worked well for our party of five, and the downstairs space with sofa, chairs, a dining table and kitchenette, were clean and well equipped. We grilled outside using the available grill, and the outdoor patio was a great spot to relax. We used both bathrooms, and having two parking spaces worked very well. We were able to bring our Scottish terrier with us, and that made the vacation even better. All told, we were very comfortably situated, and I was praised for my astute choice by everyone.
The Boardwalk Cottage is only 2 miles from The Factory Outlets (L.L. Bean Under Armor, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Nine West, Bass, Van Heusen, Polo, Coach, Chico's to name a few). Also only 3 miles from Six Flags Great Escape, The Fun Spot and tons of mini golf! The Boardwalk Cottage is 20 minutes from Saratoga with the Performing Arts Center, the Saratoga Race Track, and Saratoga Gaming and Racing. Several Golf courses are nearby, as are museums such as Blue Mountain Museum, The Wild Center, Hyde Museum, and the Dance Museum in Saratoga. The Cottage is a 2 hour drive from Lake Placid and the Olympic facilities, and from the High Peaks in the Adirondacks which offer spectacular hiking.
