Lovely top-floor apartment in a classic Alpine style lodge to rent in the beautiful village of Samoëns, in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps. Samoëns sits in the stunning Giffre Valley which lies in between the Morzine and Chamonix valleys. It was described as one of France's best resorts by an article in the Telegraph in 2012. From Samoëns, the whole of the Grand Massif ski area, which includes Flaine, can be explored. Samoëns is just a 50 minute drive from Geneva.
The apartment is located just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Samoëns and the free/frequent ski-bus stops just across the road. These buses run every 8 minutes to the Grand Massif Express ski lift during winter and the journey takes 5 minutes.
It's the only apartment on the top floor and has high ceilings which extend into the apex of the roof. The living room has a working stone fireplace and a large south-facing balcony with patio-style doors. The kitchen has been completely re-fitted to a high standard with oak furnishings, new appliances and additional work-surface space. There is an extendable oak table and chairs to seat 4/5 beside the kitchen.
The apartment has a double/twin bedroom at the back that includes a balcony with views to Le Criou mountain. The second, larger bedroom, with a double and a single bed (stored under the double), is accessed via steps from the living room up to a large private mezzanine level. There is a bathroom/shower room and a separate WC. In the living room, there is a large double sofa bed. Including the mezzanine level and balconies, 74m2 of living space is available.
Being the only apartment with lift access on the 3rd floor, the large hallway area outside the apartment can be used for additional storage. The apartment has its own private parking space in the underground garage and there are secure cupboards to store skis, boots and bikes there too. There is additional parking at the rear of the building.
If you prefer to walk to the slopes, there are lockers by the ski lifts and it's a 10–15 minute walk from the apartment, naturally stopping for some pain au chocolat on route!!
Samoëns is just as enjoyable in the summer with lots of things to do and see, including hiking, mountain biking (using the telecabine for access), swimming pools (10 minute walk), tennis, whitewater rafting, an outdoor adventure park, weekly markets and numerous summer festivals. It's a good size apartment for a family, has lots of character and the views are amazing.
The views, ski bus opposite and five minutes to the centre of Samoens.
We had a lovely half term ski holiday in this great apartment! Opposite the bus stop for free ski bus , five minutes to the Grand Massif express cable car. Only a five minute walk to the village with lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Lovely village square with entertainment and bars. The apartment was lovely and warm and had everything we needed for self catering. Nice clean bathroom lots of towels. DVDs tv etc. Lovely to sit on the two balconies with mountain views. Thankyou to Mark the owner who gave us lots of useful information via email about the area, transfers, ski lessons and basically everything I asked him! Thanks for the bottle of lovely red wine for our arrival. We would recommend this apartment for a family self catering ski holiday and imagine it would be beautiful in the summer too.
My family of 5 spent a delightful week here over Easter. It was wonderful to arrive after a long journey to find a decent bottle of red ready to be quaffed on the sunny balcony. The property is comfortable & cosy and perfectly positioned for wandering into Samoens for an evening meal or drink. The ski bus stops just outside the apartment but we found it easier just to throw the skis in the roof-box and drive to the GME. Parking was never an issue at either the apartment or the GME, despite some very "civilised" start times and the owner couldn't have been more helpful, both when planning our holiday and while we were there. Many thanks - we would very happily return.

Tout y est propre et pratique ! De la place de prkg en sous sol en passant par la cuisine, la salle de bain et la literie et la cheminée, vous y trouverez tout ce dont vous avez besoin !
Les vues sur la montagne du salon et celle de la chambre des enfants sont magnifiques.
Nous y avons séjourné cet hiver et espérons vraiment pouvoir y retourner rapidement.

Apartment is well furnished with everything you will need to self cater and has plenty of room for the family to relax after a long day on the piste.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The description was accurate and the views from the balconies amazing. Compared to other properties we have used, the kitchen was well equipped and we self-catered every day. We enjoyed making use of both the fondue set and the racklette! We were driving and this property is just off the main road, and so it would be easy to access even if there was lots of snow. It's only a short, flat walk into town and the supermarket is also convenient.
The owner was very helpful and let us be flexible with the change-over day. On arrival, the apartment was very clean and there was plenty of towels, tea-towels etc.
Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cet appartement. Nous pensons même y retourner. Tout était parfait. Le centre ville est a 5 minutes à pied. Nous avons fait plusieurs randonnées au départ de Samoëns.
Les propriétaires, bien qu'ils soient en Angleterre, répondent rapidement à vos mails.

Private car park and garage available. Samoens can be reached by transfer from Geneva airport. By car, it's an easy 50 minute drive.

There is an additional fee of £60 or €80 for cleaning. This should be left at the end of your stay.
