Fox Shelter, a chic ground floor flat located only one block from the Marina of Horta. This flat is located in an area dotted with cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and stylish boutiques., near the headquarters of Norberto Diver, whale watching kiosks, Peters Sport Café, beaches, the Port of Horta, tourist offices and the Natural Parks of Faial.

A sense of calm occurs when you first enter Fox Shelter; Enter first into the den, a welcoming character-style sitting room with two tailored club chairs which invites one to lounge in. This space flows into the office area where one can stay connected with the World via the unlimited internet connection that is provided. Just beyond the den is a living room that beckons one to linger longer in with complete relaxation. Led lighted console and candles creates an impressive dramatic effective with an intelligent conversation circle that naturally flows towards the dining area. European fine china sets the stage for a memorable dining experience suited for all occasion.The traditionally fully equipped kitchen comes complete with a chef-size stove and all the modern new appliances. Carefully decorated in keeping with the era of the house in character and charm even the original wood cabinetry was preserved. A special feature of the kitchen is the double French doors when open reveals a lovely shared- garden lined with Roses and citrus trees. The Fox Shelter is all about comfort with the using a subdued colour pallet which evokes a quiet tasteful style. As seen in the three exclusive bedrooms. The first bedroom has one large couple’s bed, with privacy blinds and curtains ensuring peaceful night’s sleep. The second bedroom is the largest bedroom and is a retreat of its own with two large single beds, expansive closet complete with luggage rack, and views to the garden. The third bedroom has a large single bed. All the beds are outfitted with local hand crochet bedcovers, duvets, and cotton sheets. Ce réez de chaussé de maison placé en centre-ville est un lieu urbain qui appelle au repos : Il est à au cœur des  commerces, de la Marina et il  reste proche des plages d’Horta  à 15 minutes à pieds.

 

L’appartement de plein pied, en réez de chaussée est agréablement distribué, la circulation dans les pièces reste simple, les décors intérieurs sont clairs, chaleureux : les dégradés de blancs beige entre les  murs,  dessus de lits, jetés de canapés sans oublier les tomettes et boiseries. Les nombreux rangements en font un lieu de vacances pratique et toujours soigné.

 

Le jardin intérieur organisé en carré est splendide de verdure, il est aéré et très relaxant, nous y avons déjeunés et dînés avec beaucoup de plaisir durant notre séjour presque tous les jours.

Le parking disponible pour garer la voiture de location facilite les excursions dans l’île.

 

Les habitants de l’archipel  apparaissent très disponibles gentils et tranquilles.

 Nous avons été touchés de l’accueil et du suivi très régulier du charmant propriétaire Monsieur Luis et de Mme Zelda Melo chargé de la relation clientèle, ils ont été présents pour répondre à nos questions  nous transmettre  leurs nombreux conseils.

Nous gardons un très beau souvenir de ces vacances dans la tanière du renard de Horta.

This ground floor House placed in the city center is an urban location that calls to rest: it is in the town of shopping and of the Marina and it remains close to the beaches of Horta to 15 minutes walk.



Ground floor flat is pleasantly distributed, circulation in rooms remains simple; the interiors are warm, clear: gradients beige white, between the walls painting, bedspreads, discarded sofas without forgetting the tiles and woodwork.

The cupboards are quite in number, convenient and made the holiday location always neat

The square garden is splendid of greeneries, it is airy and very relaxing, and we had lunch and dinner times with lots of fun during our stay almost every day.

The parking in front of the house to park the car rental facilitates excursions on the island



The inhabitants of the archipelago appear very available nice and quiet.

We were touched in the very regular meetings with Mr Luis the owner and with Ms. Zelda Melo in charge of the customer relationship, they were present to answer our questions and send us their many tips.

We keep a very beautiful memory of these holidays in the Horta Fox’shelter.

Grosszügig, Familienfreundlich, an bester Lage

Die Wohnung befindet sich an bester Lage in der Nähe des Hafens von Horta. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, der Strand, der Hafen, Restaurants sowie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich in Gehdistanz.

Die Wohnung verfügt über einen Garagenvorplatz, auf dem das ggf. gemietete Auto abgestellt werden kann. Der Eigentümer (Luis) und die Managerin (Zelda) sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bereits vor der Ankunft haben wir detaillierte Informationen zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants erhalten.

Die Wohnung ist grosszügig, gepflegt und sauber. Wir (Eltern und 2 Kinder) haben uns ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet; Gasherd, Mikrowelle, Backofen und ausreichend Geschirr, damit man sich zwischendurch mal Spaghetti kochen kann. Ein grosser Kühlschrank mit Eisfach für die Einkäufe sowie eine Waschmaschine und ein Tumbler für eine schnelle Wäsche zwischendurch.

Das Wohnzimmer ist grosszügig, das Bad sauber und die 3 Schlafzimmer komfortabel. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich ein grosser, gepflegter Garten mit einem Tisch und Stühlen, der vor allem am Abend zum Verweilen einlädt.

Wir können die Wohnung sehr empfehlen und würden sie jederzeit wieder beziehen. Die Managerin, Zelda Melo ist sehr liebenswürdig und unkompliziert. Wir bedanken uns für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Horta, zu dem nicht zuletzt diese tolle Location beigetragen hat.

Cosy home, perfectly located

Together with our two kids we spent our holidays on Faial staying at the lovely Fox Shelter.

A cozy home, equipped with everything required to feel comfortable and very clean. The private garden invites to relax after a day exploring the island.

The bedroom located towards the street could be a little bit noisy. For light sleepers earplugs might be useful. Other than that, a great place to be.

Fox Shelter is centrally located in Horta. The harbor, cafes, restaurants and shops are just around the corner. Our favorite for breakfast, the bakery Bico Doce which offers fantastic Pastel de Nata, is a few meters away. To Porto Pim beach it´s a short 10 minute walk. Easy to get around in the city without needing a car.

Zelda and Luis are wonderful hosts and made us feel like being at home.

We enjoyed every day of our time on Faial and hope to come back soon.

Excellent

We were a family of four- 2 adults, and 2 teenagers

Fox hole was perfectly positioned for restaurants and bars ( we stayed during Semano de Mar)

The third bedroom has no windows so can get quite hot at night - other than that perfect

Also reccomend Sub Horta for diving and cycling and Naturalist for whale watching

Comfortable home with a peaceful garden

Our family of 6 was warmly welcomed to Fox Shelter by Zelda and Luis. They were both very gracious hosts and provided us with many great suggestions for our stay on Faial. The house was tastefully decorated, well taken care of and had comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen was nicely equipped with necessities including a washing machine and dryer. Some of our favorite times of each day were spent sitting in the garden surrounded by colorful rose bushes while we enjoyed daily cups of coffee (wine) and played cards. We visited Faial at a warm time of the summer and weren't used to being without air conditioning, but Luis had a couple of fans that helped. The house is in a great location; within walking distance to most everything in town - with that comes some extra noise at night. Our family would definitely stay at Fox Shelter again...we hope to be back sooner rather than later!

Spectacular!

The Fox Shelter is truly a treasure! Very clean and spacious well maintained with beautiful furniture as well as being equipped with everything you would need to feel at home, the lovely garden where we spent many evenings relaxing is a bonus. Zelda and Luis the property manager and owner were amazing very friendly always willing to help we thank both for their kindness during our stay.

Owner's Response: Guest Reviews are so important to us because only those who stay at the Fox Shelter can truly see the true value in our accommodation. This is evident from its decoration to the practicality of the equipment offered like the clothes drying machine, a must have feature of any high quality accommodation in our temperate climate. Thank you also for highlighting the openness of the flat which starts with 50 meters square of private parking that leads directly into the spacious 100 meters square interior living space, leading to an enchanting 200 meters square garden. Our guests can utilize over 3,500 square feet all on the ground level.
