Tired of City life, are you looking for a relaxing week away? Then why not treat yourselves!! Enjoy Sea views from your living room after a long soak in the Jacuzzi bath, following by dinner and drinks in the local village or why not dance the night away in Irelands only 'Beach Bar'!
This Luxurious Cottage with seaviews is set on the Ring of Kerry in Castlecove, only 2 miles from the panoramic beaches of Derrynane and Caherdaniel. The bungalow is only 10 minute walk from the golden sandy beaches of O' Carrolls Cove and the White Strand in Castlecove.
Traditional in style with timber floors and open marble fire place. This beautiful cottage has an elegant, warm, cozy atmosphere with panoramic views of the surrounding sea and countryside.
Hi my name is Caoimhe age 9. We had a great time this cozy cottage. We did the kayaking, knee boarding and water skiing in Derrynane harbour. One night we raosted marshmallows on the open fire, that was great fun. Thank you so much!
We had a great two week holiday in Siobhans beautiful house. We are a family of 5 and had more than enough room - the rooms are spacious and there is plenty if storage. The kitchen and living room was well laid out and had every mod con needed - wifi was great for wet days. Siobhans parents next door were very helpful and supplied lots of clean towels and local advice. Great location with fantastic beaches and lots of sea sports for all ages. All in all we had a great holiday and would definately return to this lovely house and this beautiful area again.
Up a wee side road less than half a mile from the main Ring of Kerry we came to this gorgeous house, looking slightly different from the photo. It now has a wooden patio on the left, plus a large picnic table. If it had been warmer, I know where our meals would have been.
The kitchen was well laid out, modern, with all the mod-cons you could require. The living room has a stunning view across to the Cove of Castle Cove. You could see breakers on the rocks in the daytime. At night we lit a turf fire (remember to bring a bag of sticks and firelighters) in the hearth and this readily warmed the room. The giant TV meant there was plenty of opportunity to occupy the dark evenings. And the wifi (that wasn't mentioned in the documentation) worked well with our chromecast.
The utility room was well laid out and there was ample space to dry out gear used in our kayak or on our cycle rides. The heating system is amazing and heats the house promptly if required but we couldn't quite work out how to get it to come on at our choice of time.
We just stayed as a couple, rattling around in this very spacious 4 bedroomed house with massive hallway. We wasted valuable time in our planning desperately trying to find a cottage for 2, but Siobhan was glad to have a couple staying there. The bedroom we had had lovely views across the bay and the sun in the morning - it was idyllic. The bed was very comfortable and wardrobe/drawer space well more than adequate. The ensuite shower was a strange design for us, where the floor merged into the ensuite toilet floor, ensuring that the shower water often went further than intended.
We're not great cyclists but we could invent easy, short routes for ourselves in the locality - ideas like the roads near Abbey Island and Derrynane House spring to mind. Further afield you can ride in or near Killarney National Park for free. If you fancy bringing a kayak with you (you may be able to rent at Abbey Island) you could put it into the water at Westcove beach and view the many local seals on the multitude of rocks in the sheltered waters of the cove. Or just relax with a book on the lovely white Westcove beach and watch someone else take the kayak out. Then look at the photos afterwards!
We also had a lovely meal at the local Blind Piper pub which was as good as it was made out to be.
The owner's parents were a short distance down the road so were always on hand and very helpful if we needed any help, local advice and even turf!
We stayed at Coad cottage for two weeks in August 2015 and had a great time. Accommodation was top-class, cottage was spacious and very well appointed. I stayed with one adult and three kids, but we had several visitors staying with us over the two weeks. The four double bedrooms provided lots of space and the kitchen was plenty big enough for entertaining. The deck is a great bonus - we watched the shooting stars lying on it one night! Kids favourite was the huge rotating seat in the sitting room. The cottage has fab views over Kenmare Bay and is off the beaten track - my old Land Rover Defender was perfect for getting up the hill and over the gravel path, but our visitors had no problems getting to the cottage, even a 911 made it! There are several fab beaches and piers for pier diving nearby. We swam and kayaked every day, walked some of the Kerry Way and went surfing. There even is a lovely little bakery and lunch room within walking distance.
We had a problem with water pressure at some point, but this was resolved quickly - probably a teething issue as the cottage is brand new. All in all a fab place to stay in a great area!
