My husband, 2.5 yr old and I rented this charming cabin for a few weeks in June/July 2014. We could not have asked for a more charming, easy and conveniently located space.
The Bonnet Shores Cabin is clean, well appointed and in a very quiet neighborhood close to the beach.
Traveling with little ones is never easy - but, I have to say having the cabin made it much easier. My husband was able to work while my child and I played in the beautiful yard (filled with bunnies) or in what he called the "toy loft." What a treat for a little one! I was also able to relax. Moms almost never get a break, even on vacation. However, the convenience of having our own space, with a kitchen and laundry, and a source of sesame street (when required) made my life easy. Simple pleasures!
I would highly recommend this rental to a couple or a small family like mine. It is a very cozy and relaxing space. Sitting in the yard at night was a romantic treat. This cabin is in walking distance to the beach which is always a plus. There is an adorable market on Boston Neck that you may get to by bike, feet or car. Narragansett pier area is approx. 5 miles south down Boston Neck. There you will find great casual restaurants like Monahan's Clam Shack, and finer dining options such as Turtle Soup, Trios and Basil's. The Picnic Basket is a great spot for sandwiches. Along the way are various spots for ice-cream (Brickley's), coffee, gas, manis/pedis, and even kayak rental. You can bike/walk to Narragansett Pier.
And as a side bar - driving to Providence, Newport or Mystic is EASY from Bonnet Shores.
The owners were kind and helpful. This was a peaceful and relaxing trip in spite of a small child. Again, we highly recommend this cabin and we will be back!
We just returned from a stay at this perfectly wonderful cottage. We are able to enthusiastically recommend this as the perfect getaway. The cottage itself is full of thoughtful appointments and uniquely charming touches. For us, on our honeymoon, it offered the perfect romantic retreat for two. It could easily become crowded - so be mindful of that. While being cozy and charming, it also is clean, very nicely furnished and offers many modern touches and conveniences. It is apparent that the owners take great pride in this property and have spared nothing to make it comfortable for their guests. We love it and hope to return...if we do not, it will be forever a treasured memory of a lovely time.
We enjoyed the area quite a bit...loved the beaches. Mainly went to the town beaches (a very short drive) because we wanted big waves - and did we ever find them. Newport is just a short drive and a lot of fun for shopping and touring.
Highly recommend visiting the fishing port of Galilee...Great restaurants and we purchased lobsters off the docks for a crazy-reasonable price...lots of fun.
The owners are amazingly nice, hospitable and accommodating. They have created a beautiful place that we called home from the moment we saw it...We must mention the bunnies...there where three on the property who peacefully munched on the grass and seemed to enjoy our company. They greeted us every day.
We do not have a negative thing to report to you...what you see in the photos is delivered and more in a quaint and delightful cottage for two (or three).
Cozy log cabin in Bonnet that is nicely decorated. Great for 2 or 3 people. Bike to Kelly Beach. Dinner at Twin Willows. Short trip to Narragansett. Owners are very helpful. Has air conditioning. We would certainly recommend it.
My daughter and I loved our stay in this little cabin. I grew up in the area and come back to this lovely beach community every summer. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The owners were so helpful and made me feel that I could call about any concern that I had... but, we had no problems at all. There were even toys in the loft and a great big yard with bunnies to entertain my three year old. We would certainly come back again next year. Thanks! Don't forget to go to Brickley's Ice Cream and Kingston Pizza while you are there just up on Boston Neck Rd.
We enjoyed this property when we stayed here in 2008 & 2009. The home and property are well-maintained with a grassy yard and colorful flowers planted all around the house. Our young daughter enjoyed exploring and playing in the yard. Although the cabin is small, the living room has a tall A-frame ceiling with skylights and many windows. This gives it an open and airy feel. The living room is sunny and cheerful in the morning and cool and breezy at night. We never used the AC when we stayed there. The bedrooms are small, but they have ample storage space. The kitchen is fully equipped. The owners are very nice and easy to work with.
We didn't visit the Bonnet Shores Beach but we thoroughly enjoyed Roger Williams State Beach, about a 20 minute dtive. The beach is huge with ample parking, nice facilities and a nice playground for the kids. The narraganset Town Beach is closer and it's beautiful, but we found the parking there to be pricey and inconvenient. The parking area is across the street from the beach entrance so you have to lug all of your gear a pretty long way to reach the beach. Do visit Aunt Carrie's Clam Shack and the wonderful ice cream shop on the road headed toward Narraganset (wish I could remember the name!) I would also recommend the zoo and surrounding area in Roger Williams Park in Providence. It's worth the ride.
We enjoyed our visits to Narraganset with it's beautiful beaches, small communities and friendly people. We visited other places the past 2 years, but we may be back this year.
My family has enjoyed this rental for 3 summers. It is a beautiful vacation spot. Outdoor area with grill and 2 tables in a large grassy yard. Indoors is cozy, clean and comfortable. Walk to Bonnet Shores Beach on Narragansett Bay.(This beach is especially good for children) Or, it's a 10 minute drive to Narragansett town beach. Restaurants and entertainment nearby. Owners accomadating and easy to work with. A real log cabin, grab it!
