Overview

Wallenpaupauk Lake Estates Chalet Rental Photos and Description

3 formal bedrooms, 3 full baths, Sleeps 10

Beautiful lakefront chalet-style vacation home with spectacular views, fireplace and jacuzzi in a community with two outdoor pools and one indoor pool; it is located in the Wallenpaupack Lake area in beautiful Lake Ariel, PA which is about 2 hours from New York City. Unlike other lake fronts which place you up hills and long walking distances to the lake, we are Right On one of the smaller lakes....you will wake up and look out your windows to beautiful close-up views of the beautiful lake. The door is literally steps to the dock and not down steep hills either! Unlike being on the 'big' lake (Wallenpaupack) which allows powerboats and jet skis, our lake is a non-power boating lake which means No waking up to noisy boat motors and the ZZZZ of jet skis!! We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards as payment, but not American Express, sorry.

Renter Requirements: Renters must be 30 years of age or older and we will require photocopies of drivers licenses to ensure compliance with this rule. Families with children are the only exceptions to this rule. There is NO smoking in the house. NO CATS are allowed, EVER.

Community: For summer renters, there are two outdoor pools....There is a nice lodge at the nearby pool which offers games for kids & teens. There are tennis courts at this pool area which must be reserved in advance at the main office. There is also an indoor pool which is about 5 minutes drive and there is schedule of times that it is open. All community amenities require badges which we will provide to renters.Fishing: there is ample opportunity to do so and the fishing is great in all three lakes (Lake Wallenpaupack is the BIG lake, and the two smaller lakes in our community are called Deer Lake & Beaver Lake, which are both NON-power-boating lakes). If you wish to fish, you MUST get fishing licenses to do so (adults). It is a simple process and it is very inexpensive, but it could cost a lot of money if you fail to have one and get caught fishing without it! Please contact owner for website where you can purchase your fishing license.

Children may only fish with a licensed adult present

its a wonderful life!!

  • 5 of 5

This was an absolutely wonderful weekend. We took three couples with children and we had a spectacular time. The snow, the lake, the views, the deer etc. Most importantly John and Eileen were the kindest people before during and after. I will do this again and again and looking forward to bonding with family and friends. I urge people to take the time to do something like this just to get some peace and calm and put the everything behind them for a few days.

Thank you again

Precious Memories

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house with a beautiful view! The house had more than expected. Everything I packed for the family, grandkids and our pet dog was there. From fishing rods, dog cage, crayons, games, books, movies, shampoo and laundry detergent and too many too list. All you really need is your clothes. We had one incident that we had to contact the owner and he was just a phone call away and he took care of it right away. We saw a bear, raccoons, deer, skunk and a snapping turtle that stalks the lake. We had a great time with our children and grandkids. We recommend any to rent this house and we are working on next years week!

Had a weekend getaway with a few friends and this place was perfect. Plenty of room, a great location and a beautiful view. The owners were on point as well and easy to work with. Thanks again for the great memories.

Delightful Lakehouse

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I plus our little dog stayed for 5 days during the week leading up to Labor Day. The house was as beautiful and accommodating as the photo implies. Clean, well stocked, air conditioned and quiet, the house has a generous deck with a beautiful view of the lake. We appreciated having access to the kyacks and the grill. There is lots to do in the area and we took a hike through the nearby, lovely Lacawac Sanctuary with its natural, preserved lake. It's probably best, to stock up on groceries at the top of your stay because the nearest market is in Hamlin a few miles away. All in all, we loved every minute and look forward to returning!

Wonderful Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, this was such a great experience! My first house rental and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our family had experienced so much lose in the past year and a half.. we really needed a place to get away where we could also bring our baby (Havanese) Misha. From the moment we stepped in the door we felt so at home, it is hard to explain. The view is amazing, better than the pictures!!! We can't wait to do it again. The Martin's are terrific! Thank you for opening up your home to us, it was perfect!

Our new Pocono Retreat

  • 5 of 5

After many years of searching for a lakefront property for our fall vacations, we have finally settled on this beautiful home. It is the perfect combination of all the things my family and I have been searching for. I travel with my retired parents and our dogs. I have one and they have one and traveling with our dogs is a priority.

However, my mother has other high expectations for vacation homes/hotel/lodges and this house met them all. It was super clean with zero smells - good or bad. The house is updated and modern without losing that quaint cabin feel that my parents love. The porch is a perfect size and has gates so our dogs can't get out. It also has to options of entry so my mother and her sometimes bad knees could take a route with less steps to the lake which was nice. The property is well maintained with lovely landscaping and no remnants of previous guests. The steep driveway was a bit tricky for my little city car, but my parents had less trouble than I did.

Our beds were comfy, the bathrooms shiny and clean, the living room cozy - my mom was super happy with the place and told me to stop looking for other homes to stay in for our Fall vacation. Finally!

The neighborhood was quiet and lovely, the lake is small but very pretty. We were there just after Labor Day so I bet this is a super fun hopping place for families depending on the time of year. We liked seeing both the bustle of Labor Day and the overwhelming still after. No distant traffic noises to hear, loads of stars, and plenty of wildlife. (deer, chipmunks, turkey)

My parents and I didn't have the desire to check out to much of the surrounding area as we have had a hectic year and really just needed to relax, but this house was the perfect retreat for our needs! We could hang out together if we wanted, or spread out to be alone as there was more than enough room for the three of us. If my sister and her 4 kids had been able to join us there would have been PLENTY of room! In fact I was the only one to even use the downstairs and that was for the hot tub. The hot tub was the cleanest I have ever seen at any home/hotel ever and I did take time to enjoy that. My father enjoyed fishing, my parents enjoyed their canoe, and our dogs enjoyed plenty of walks around the neighborhood.

Our only problem now is figuring out which week to go next fall! Thanks for everything Martin!!

Our community has a marina on the 'big lake', Lake Wallenpaupack, and owners have lake rights to the big lake. Our house is on one of the two smaller lakes in our community.

Ski: There are is a nearby ski area: Sno Mountain. Sno Mountain is fairly new, used to be called Montage Mountain but was purchased and they changed the name. It's an outstanding mountain which has a great ski instruction program which is wonderful for children. It is about 20 minute drive from the house. You can check out the slopes, conditions, amenities they offer, etc. at their websites:

Notes:
There is a canoe, a kayak, and a paddle boat for renters to enjoy. There are Adirondack chairs by the lake as well as a chimney for cool nights and smores. On the deck, there are two tables and cushioned seating for 8 people and a gas grill. It is wheelchair accessible, but may not be in the winter if there is heavy snow. The driveway leads downhill from the road and usually the snowplow is able to clear the snow adequately, but sometimes they cannot get it all which would require renters to park at the top of the driveway (there is a parking spot right on the side of the road) and walk down, and this would make the home not wheelchair accessible.
