Luxury Lakefront Pocono Retreat, Lake Ariel near Lake Wallenpaupack

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,310 sq. ft.
Property type chalet
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 formal bedrooms, 3 full baths, Sleeps 10

Beautiful lakefront chalet-style vacation home with spectacular views, fireplace and jacuzzi in a community with two outdoor pools and one indoor pool; it is located in the Wallenpaupack Lake area in beautiful Lake Ariel, PA which is about 2 hours from New York City. Unlike other lake fronts which place you up hills and long walking distances to the lake, we are Right On one of the smaller will wake up and look out your windows to beautiful close-up views of the beautiful lake. The door is literally steps to the dock and not down steep hills either! Unlike being on the 'big' lake (Wallenpaupack) which allows powerboats and jet skis, our lake is a non-power boating lake which means No waking up to noisy boat motors and the ZZZZ of jet skis!! We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards as payment, but not American Express, sorry.

Renter Requirements: Renters must be 30 years of age or older and we will require photocopies of drivers licenses to ensure compliance with this rule. Families with children are the only exceptions to this rule. There is NO smoking in the house. NO CATS are allowed, EVER.

Community: For summer renters, there are two outdoor pools....There is a nice lodge at the nearby pool which offers games for kids & teens. There are tennis courts at this pool area which must be reserved in advance at the main office. There is also an indoor pool which is about 5 minutes drive and there is schedule of times that it is open. All community amenities require badges which we will provide to renters.Fishing: there is ample opportunity to do so and the fishing is great in all three lakes (Lake Wallenpaupack is the BIG lake, and the two smaller lakes in our community are called Deer Lake & Beaver Lake, which are both NON-power-boating lakes). If you wish to fish, you MUST get fishing licenses to do so (adults). It is a simple process and it is very inexpensive, but it could cost a lot of money if you fail to have one and get caught fishing without it! Please contact owner for website where you can purchase your fishing license.

Children may only fish with a licensed adult present

There is a canoe, a kayak, and a paddle boat for renters to enjoy. There are Adirondack chairs by the lake as well as a chimney for cool nights and smores. On the deck, there are two tables and cushioned seating for 8 people and a gas grill. It is wheelchair accessible, but may not be in the winter if there is heavy snow. The driveway leads downhill from the road and usually the snowplow is able to clear the snow adequately, but sometimes they cannot get it all which would require renters to park at the top of the driveway (there is a parking spot right on the side of the road) and walk down, and this would make the home not wheelchair accessible.

Paradise in the Poconos

  • 5 of 5

Although this review is late, I had to share how wonderful our vacation was at Martin’s beautiful lake house. We went for a week in July 2017, and it was my husband and I, our dog and another couple. The home looks exactly like the photos; it was roomy and well decorated, bright from natural light, comfortable and clean. We loved that the huge deck facing the water was all enclosed so our dog could roam freely. We BBQ’d frequently on the gas grill located conveniently outside of the kitchen on the deck, and spent many hours there taking in the beauty of the lake with tea in the morning and cocktails at sunset (seeing occasional deer on the property even made it better!). We had fun in Martin’s pedal boat and fished every day. We enjoyed a nightly fire in the fire pit down by the lake, of which Martin kindly provided an abundance of wood that kept it blazing. We frequented the community pool closest to the home (a short walk), which was large, clean and a lot of fun (many tasty refreshments for a fee are available at the pool, as well). Although the homes are close to each other in the development, it was extremely quiet and peaceful, and at Martin’s home you still have a sense of privacy. We took walks with our dog, and everyone we met was friendly. There is a town close by that we shopped at and enjoyed the cuisine at some of the restaurants. This was exactly the kind of vacation we were looking for, and Martin’s house is a retreat from busy life that no one should go without. Martin was quick to answer our questions, and was always helpful and kind. Although we are unable to vacation there this year, we would highly recommend Martin’s home for your next peaceful vacation. It is paradise in the Poconos, and we hope to visit again soon! Thank you, Martin, for your hospitality!

great family time!

House felt just like home! Very clean and welcoming! Martin was very quick to respond with any questions and very helpful when the power went out. He immediately responded to help us reset tv codes. We loved the gated deck with the dog, and My son really enjoyed the fishing as well as our pingpong matches in the evening. We would love to return here with both our boys!. Unfortunately we only could bring one this time. Great relaxing vacation! Thank you So Much!

Second time even better!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at Martin's house, and we just recently booked our third trip there. Although I've already left a review, I thought I'd leave another because that's how much we loved the house. I stated in my first review that we had found a place to return to, and we in fact have returned.

Our second trip was just as relaxing however this time we noticed the driveway was paved and less tricky for my car. We also had more time to explore the area and found some amazing hiking places. Martin is wonderful to communicate with right down to the tiniest concern/detail. Once again we enjoyed the extreme cleanliness and coziness of the house. Our dogs love the gated deck, my dad loves the fishing, my mom loves all the stars and wildlife, and I love the overwhelming quiet. Thanks for a great week!

Sorry I'm so late writing a review. Had our long vacation in October once again at the Clarke's home, and we just can't say enough nice things about it!! Had an even better time the second time around, maybe because I caught a HUGE big mouth bass, all by myself!! (we left it go hoping it will get even bigger!! LOL) We went fishing almost everyday. Weather was perfect. Wish the Hot Tub was outside, but enjoyed it just the same. Played pool, took bike rides and walks. Just the most relaxing vacation ever. Hope to stay again this coming October!! Thanks again!!

We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two nights and we wish it had been for longer. We were a group of three couples, one toddler, and a small dog and the house was perfect. The only surprising moment was that one of the full baths is on the downstairs level below the bedrooms so two couples just ended up sharing a bathroom because it was easier than going up and down the steps. No big deal though. We spent the weekend cooking and enjoying the gorgeous fall weather. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
