Sitting directly on a small skiff of sandy beach, our place offers ocean views as far as the eye can see. But the beachfront location is just one of the many desirable features. The place offers 2 stories and over 1,900 sq. ft. of comfortable, modern, and elegant living space with a tasteful Hawaiian décor.

Upstairs features vaulted ceilings, two bedrooms, two full baths, big great room, gourmet kitchen, dining room, and two large ocean-facing lanais. Downstairs features an additional bedroom, living room and full bath.

Outside, the large beachfront lanai is the perfect place to hang out and relax, and its gate leads directly onto the sand. Tables, chairs, chaise lounges, two-person hammock and a BBQ grill make it a tough place to leave!

Notable amenities: W/D, WiFi, A/C in all three bedrooms, 40" flat-panels TVs in all three bedrooms and both living areas, two tandem kayaks, snorkel gear, boogie boards, Graco Pack 'n Play.

Two of us are from Nova Scotia, two from Florida and one from Lake Louise, Canada. Love the laidback life on the north shore - wind, waves, mountains, turtles, ohana - nothing better than that. The windward side is the place for us. Some of us here many times since 1965, some of us here for the first time. All would come back. Truly an aloha house.

Just next to Heaven

The Listing was accurate and very clean. I can not imagine staying any were else. There were 5 adults all family and we had plenty room to either hang together or find some space. Used the washer and dryer and out side shower after a swim.Most of the time we never knew if there were other people on the island till we visited some of the tourist attractions. Small issues was the road traffic at night from the front bedroom but not that big deal. The wind never blew and we enjoyed the water the kayaks and had two Seals laying on the beach just short distance from the house. We cooked a lot of our meals thanks to the store just up the road and this location is truly in a great place close to PCC and turtle bay. It was so wonderful to sit out on the deck at night listening to the waves. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Sad to leave but if we come back to this island this is the place for us you can't go wrong.

Awesome"

We had a fantastic time and having two monk seals just down the beach which could be seen from the house was nothing short of spectacular. The house was perfect for 6 people and very well kept with new kitchen and bathrooms. Being to watch the sunrise from the living room lani was great having coffee and listening to the surf. We recommend this property to anyone and we will be back.

OMG!!!!!

What an incredible place! It was so beautiful! Loved having coffee in the morning on the Lanai, listening to the waves. Loved playing on our own beach with all the provided snorkels, boogie board and kayaks. Loved all the space. Loved the sunrises. My family hated to leave. This will be the only place we look to rent when we come back!

Perfect Paradise

Beautiful home. Comfortable, has everything you would want in a beach home. Step out onto the beach with soft sand and waves lapping onto your feet. Go boogie boarding, kayaking (weather permitting), eating at all the original trucks, shopping for souvenirs. But make sure you take time to just sit and relax.

We plan on coming back.

Wonderful place in Ohau

We were a group of three couples. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. We were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, we enjoyed having the use of the kayaks and other beach toys. We got groceries in Laie, which was very close, and snorkeled at Turtle Bay. The Polynesian Cultural Center is also very close. Our favorite thing, though, was having the beach literally in our backyard. Seeing and hearing the ocean so close was fantastic. We loved eating outside on the patio. Sitting on the patio at night with the lights and ocean was almost "magical." Shawn was great to work with. We contacted him once during our stay and he responded quickly and went over and above to help us enjoy our stay. I can highly recommend this property and hope we can come back some time.

Hau'ula and the surrounding area is often likened to 'old Hawaii,' still representing what Hawaii once was. Instead of large malls and chain restaurants (i.e. Waikiki), the area has family-owned gift shops, unique little restaurants, and a pace of life that many envision when planning their Hawaii trips.

Highlights of the area:

(1) five minute drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii's #1 tourist attraction

(2) many great hikes (some with waterfalls) in the mountains directly behind the place

(3) lush green foliage and mountainsides, drawing comparisons with Maui

(4) good, local people offering a glimpse into 'true' Hawaii living: a truly authentic Hawaiian experience

(5) twelve minute drive to Turtle Bay Resort, and their golf courses, restaurants, bars, massages, helicopter rides, etc.

(6) minutes to good surfing spots, and only about 20 minutes to famous big-wave spots like Pipeline and Sunset Beach

(7) quiet, tranquil, peaceful...the best way to describe Hau'ula!

Other Activities: Island's best hiking in the mountains adjacent to the house.
