COUNTRY LODGE GETAWAY
If you like tin roofs, porch swings, rocking chairs, country quiet and long walks among stately oaks and Loblolly pines, you will love Echeconnee Plantation Lodge, a beautiful six bedroom lodge nestled in the middle of two thousand acres of natural beauty. Enjoy the use of one hundred acres surrounding the lodge as you bike or hike the numerous trails in this prime quail, turkey, and deer habitat. Catch your limit of bream, bass and catfish or simply canoe across the eleven acre lake to check out the other shore. Try an old-fashioned game of horseshoes, a lively game of pool or simply sit on the screened porch and watch the sun go down—or come up—as you enjoy a setting of complete serenity.
Enjoy the comfort of this warm and welcoming lodge as you dine family style around a large harvest table and then sink into the leather chairs and enjoy a roaring fire in the stone fireplace on cool evenings. You will find that Echeconnee Plantation lodge is suitable for corporate retreats or just for retreating from the world. The lodge is perfect for family vacations, reunions or weekend getaways. A short drive from everything you need yet a world away from the things you don’t, this destination is a treasure to its owners and, hopefully, it will be the same to you.
With Wide Open Spaces both inside and outside the house, this was a most relaxing place to spend our Sibling reunion. You could chose lounging in the comfort of the Lodge, walking through the quiet woods, or fishing in the lake. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of pillows, and room for ten at the dining table. The open plan allowed for lots of conversation between the kitchen and seating areas. We were there in time to see the first peach blossoms at the nearby Lane Farms Peach Festival but spent most of our time on property, simply enjoying the water and the woods. I can certainly see returning to enjoy these abundant wide open spaces.
My brother's family and mine get together every year between Christmas and New Year's to celebrate life, with a getaway. We lost our other brother in 2003 and since that time we have gone to different areas, mostly in the Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee regions.
We found this place in 2014, but it was being used by family for the holidays. But, we were fortunate enough to be able to get it for 2015. This place is amazing! With the layout of the house and the architecture, you can tell someone planned this home with family in mind. I call it a home, because it seems much more than a cabin. It has 4 bedrooms downstairs and 2 upstairs with a game room that includes a pool table. The downstairs bedrooms are separated by a large living area, that is very comfortable and welcomes you to sit and visit. The screened in back porch is also inviting with plenty of sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking, and we did quite a bit of that, since the weather didn't allow us to be outside, too much. But, we did venture down to the lake, which is very large and a wonderful place to sit on the dock and enjoy nature. My son-in-law caught a very nice bass and some bream, but they were not injured, so he threw them back for the next guest. Although, there was a very nice fish cleaning area, had we chose to keep them.
The owner was easy to reach and ready to answer any questions we might have had, but we did not need to call her for any extra's, because everything you could possibly need was provided.
There were 10 adults and 5 children, ranging from 15 - 2, and a good time was had by all. We have not stayed at the same place twice, but I think, we all agree this is definitely a place we would like to stay at again.
Our Thanksgiving family gathering was great. We had 8 adults and 7 kids for three days and nights and we had plenty of room. We had a few extra family members in for Thanksgiving day and still had plenty of room. The outdoor space was just as accommodating. Everything that you could possible need or want (for adults and kids) was provided.
The grandchildren (range in age from 1 year to 6 years) are already asking when we can go back. The son-in-laws are interested in going back for the hunting and fishing. My daughters and I enjoyed the peacefulness of the porches and the dock.
Thanks again for a wonderful gathering. We would definitely recommend this property.
It is hard to review the lodge within the standards applied to most rentals, because this place is in a category of its own. It is outstanding in every aspect. We felt as if it were our own home, complete with books, decor, furnishings, kitchen and outdoor supplies. There is much more than described - how about a whole-hog roasting pit, corn-hole set, or skeet shoots? In short, I whole-hardheartedly recommend this place to anyone who needs a close yet remote break from the hustle.
Had an amazing 4th of July weekend with my husband and 2 children. As soon as we pulled up the kids ran straight out to the lake. Walking in the front door you feel at home. All you need to bring is food and your swim suits. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and any type of dish you need. Bathrooms are stocked with all the towels you will need. We had plenty of room since it was the 4 of us, but the way the house is designed we could have had 10 more people and their would still be room. We stayed 3 days and caught 12 bass. Our kids spent the mornings and evenings floating around the lake in the canoe and fishing. Husband and I sat on the dock listening to the birds and relaxing. Once it got too dark, we enjoyed a family pool tournament in the game room. It was nice to get unplugged for our electronic devises (cell service is spotty) and reconnect as a family. Even though you are out in the middle of no where, we felt very safe. It was a short drive into town if we needed to run out and grab anything. Mrs Vicky was very helpful and answered our million and one questions we had before heading out. She even gave us a list of restaurants to try. We went to Pig n Fish, food was great and it was right on the water. Good place for the kids or if you went on a date. We can not wait to go back to the lodge for another getaway weekend. All of our friends and family loved the pictures we took and will be coming out for a visit as well.
Ten adults from 5 states flew into GA for my daughters Mercer Graduation. Our ages ranged from 35-85 and everyone was comfortable and impressed with the warm charming accommodations. This lovely scenic plantation Lodge provided an atmosphere to enjoy family and friends in a spacious home that in turn also allowed everyone their own personal space. The Lodge and Vicki exceeded far beyond my expectations! We even decided not to drive to Savannah our last day so as to spend more time enjoying all the property offered such as fishing, hitting golf balls, canoeing, playing pool, BBQ & playing board games. Seemingly magical, the
Lodge location offered us quality time shared together resulting in memories we will always hold dear! The photos on the VRBO site does not do the place justice! It is absolutely gorgeous and much larger than it appears in the photo! From the kitchen to the canoe, it's spotless! I called Vicki several times asking 101 questions and every time she promptly called me back. This is Southern Charm and Hospitality in its finest form! Thank you for a vacation of a lifetime Vicki!
