A beautiful villa set just above a lovely sandy beach with shallow sloping gradient perfect for children. The bedrooms are arranged so that 2 families sharing works really well with a different floor each. The roof terrace Ian panoramic while there's other secret corners of the garden to find a quiet spot. Then there is the scent I feel jasmine to greet you every time you walk down from the car parking area.
Chantal the host is extremely kind and accommodating to specific needs or requests such as finding a high chair or cot.
This villa is a spot of paradise!
Thanks for your nice words. I' m very glad and happy you had a good time in my house. I think too it is very suitable for children, in fact I spent many vacations with my children there.
I hope to see you next year.
Even nicer than in the pictures
We (parents with three children aged 2, 4 and 6 and one pair of grandparents) spent ten days in early June 2015 in the villa. The setting of the villa on a cliff above the sea is really beautiful, as the pictures show. The villa is immersed in green with an aged bougainvillea growing up to the upper terrace.
There are a little more than hundred stairs, which you have to go down to the sea. However, the stairs are pretty comfortable and our two years old son as well as his grandparents had no trouble to go up and down to the sea twice a day. A nice surprise was the possibility to use the owner's sun umbrella and beach chairs located in a shed near the stairs to the sea.
Another nice thing is the private sandy beach bellow the villa. Part of the beach is used by the neighbouring hotel, the part of the beach which gets the longest hours of sunshine is used by the villa and its neighbours. The water in the sea is shallow for several dozens of meters allowing for walks in the water to the neighbouring beaches.
Our only concern were the mosquitoes, this is, however, a problem we had in all the villas we stayed so far in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Compared with our previous experience with rented villas, the kitchen was fully equipped – e.g. also with kitchen towels. An unexpected perk we found out by coincidence, was the possibility to use the WIFI of the neighbouring hotel (which was not protected by a password) for free internet access.
Thanks so much for your nice words and how well you have described the place and the house.
I'm very happy you had a nice stay and I hope you will come back.
The villa is located 150 km from Rome and 100 from Naples on the Lazio coast. The closest towns are Sperlonga at 7 km, which looks like a Greek village with its white houses and narrow paths. Here are the remains of the Roman Villa of Tiberius. Then there is Gaeta, 6 km away, a very interesting town from a historical and artistic point of view. There are various ancient churches and palaces, a castle, a Roman mausoleum and a monastery of the Montagna Spaccata.
Nearby there are, to the north at 20 Km Terracina then Sermoneta and Fossanova with its splendid Abbey (about 40/50 Km). To the south there is the monastery of Montecassino and towards the hinterland the Caves of Pastena.
In Sperlonga and Gaeta there are shops, groceries and various restaurants, pizzerias, bars and outdoor places where you can enjoy aperitifs and drinks. There are a couple of discos.
The area is famous for buffalo mozzarella, tiella (pizza stuffed with octopus or vegetables), fish, fresh vegetables and fruit, Gaeta olives and olive oil.
