About Russell Gillespie

My family and I fell in love with these Lodges when we first came to stay here in May 2014.

Little did we know that such a holiday would turn into such a wonderful life changing experience - that we would end up taking over this established business from the previous owners and continue in their footsteps, all in under a year!

As a family we have always loved the idea of getting away to an idyllic retreat by a lake in the mountains, and we found it here.

As new owners we had to start a new listing with HomeAway. The previous owners had many wonderful reviews from guests who loved their holiday at Glengoulandie.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Lodges, and hope you enjoy the experience just as much as we do!

Had a lovely week long break over Xmas in the beautiful Rainbow Lodge. It was so comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

On our arrival Russell and Sandy had made the lodge so welcoming with a lovely Xmas tree all lit up and an amazing gift pack full of lovely goodies. On entering the lodge we were met with a stunning view over the loch and hills where we could watch the deer roaming around. The lodge is so spacious and very well equipped. It was our first Xmas away from home and it exceeded our expectations. We hope to return in the summer months and explore more of the beautiful countryside. We would highly recommend a stay in this lovely lodge. Thanks again Russell and Sandy for making us so welcome.

Regards,

The McKenzie family & friends

The Perfect Family Holiday 5*****

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were joined by our daughter and her husband and baby for a fantastic stay at this beautiful Lodge. We were delighted with the accommodation and the setting was exceptional. We arrived to find a welcoming starter pack which was most appreciated Thank You! The Lodge is sheer quality, the bedrooms are all very well presented with all linen and towels provided. The open-plan living room looks out at spectacular scenery and small loch, with swans, ducks, herons. The booking process was effortless and both Russell and Sandy were very helpful, especially concerning our extra requirements for our six month old Granddaughter and nothing was ever a problem. We found the Lodge's own website excellent with a comprehensive set of links to local places of interest and this helped us to plan our days out. This is a five star holiday property with a five star all round service! Thank you both!

Fantastic accommodation in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

These lodges are very well maintained and in general a very high standard. A great open plan living, dining and kitchen area with balcony over hanging the private loch. Bedrooms with ensuite and free wifi just give exceptional comfort for a great break away, only down side is that I left it too late to book this for another family getaway for the Christmas holiday but it did remind me to leave that review I said I would. Will defo be back here.

Fabulous lodge, extremely comfortable, well appointed,

  • 5 of 5

Our recent stay at Glengoulandie was to celebrate my Father in Laws 70th birthday, originally being from Scotland the location couldn't of been better. The lodge was fabulous, lots of space, well appointed, extremely comfortable. Waking up to the view of the loch with the hills behind watching the stag with the deer was a real treat, . I would not hesitate to recommend a stay to anyone. The scenery in the surrounding area was beautiful. Visited lots of great places, Pitlochry, Aberfeldy (walked the birks) a highlight was watching the salmon leap at Soldiers Leap. The Simes

Wonderful Lodge - peaceful and great location

  • 5 of 5

The lodge is cosy, tidy and clean, a wonderful place to stay, so much so our son wanted to stay in all day to watch the deer and birds. Russell and Sandy were great hosts providing welcome information before arrival and recommendations for places to eat.

With so much to see and do, we ran out of time to see everything we wanted. We found a few remote places with a cafe and a warm welcome. A lovely few autumnal walks in the surrounding areas.
