The House : We are letting out the top floor apartment in our home. It is bright and spacious and fully refurbished this year to a high standard. The house is based on the Wirral peninsula. The apartment has 3 large double bedrooms and a futon in the sitting room, which all has a large television and uninterrupted views over Wales and the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. It has a decent size kitchen (with all essential amenities) and a large bathroom with shower / bath facilities.

The Neighbourhood :A quiet road in a beautiful part of the Wirral.
The Wirral has picturesque villages, sandy beaches, large areas of land owned by the National Trust as well as views across the two estuaries and out into the Irish Sea. Among the areas of open land are Bidston Hill, Caldy Hill, Eastham Country Park, including the Victorian Pleasure Gardens, Hilbre Island, North Wirral Coastal Park, Thurstaston Common and the Wirral Way. Ness Botanical Gardens are part of the University of Liverpool and have won many awards. The visitor centre at RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands provides birdwatching facilities in the Dee Estuary nature reserve.
Places of architectural interest include Hamilton Square and Port Sunlight. The view of the buildings on Liverpool's Pier Head when crossing on the Mersey Ferry is famous. Many villages of Wirral such as Burton also well preserved with their characteristic red sandstone buildings and walls. The old port of Parkgate also attracts many visitors. The arts are well represented by the Lady Lever Art Gallery at Port Sunlight and the Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead. The historical sites include Birkenhead Priory.
The private entrance is a little misleading in the description. Although there is a private entrance to the unit itself you must enter through the main house. While it did not present too much of a problem it was a bit disconcerting to feel like we were invading the owners home by walking through the house past their private living space. The owners are very trusting and seem like wonderful people. They were quite accommodating, helpful and pleasant. The unit itself was very comfortable and spacious and has wonderful views.
My family loved staying in Clare's appartment. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We arranged our stay at quite short notice and Clare was very quick replying to messages and made us feel welcome. The flat has nice big rooms and provided comfortable sleeping arrangements for our family of 6. The food and drink that Clare had left for us included thoughtful treats as well as great breakfast supplies. Everything in the flat is of good quality. We enjoyed perfect privacy on the top floor of the house, but also felt that Clare and Henry were helpful and generous hosts.
The host family was extremely accommodating to all our needs and welcomed us with a generous food pack. The apartment is at the top of a large, elegant house; access is through the house, up 27 steps (not for the faint-hearted or infirm!).
Any questions we had before and during our stay were answered and sorted very efficiently. The apartment was clean, and perfectly fine for 6 adults. There are three large bedrooms, each with a double bed. However a futon was provided as we have two teenagers, so they did not have to share a bed! The furnishing is sparse but adequate. Sitting 6 round the table to eat (4 on stools) is interesting. We did quite a lot of cooking and a couple of larger pans and a mixing bowl or two would be helpful. I imagine we are unusual as we tend to eat a family meal every evening in the accommodation.
There is only one bathroom, and the toilet is in there, but plenty of hot water for showers and bath. the hot water takes a long time to reach the kitchen, and the drains are slow. Bins for rubbish and recycling are at the back of the house, access via the garden.
Klare Empfehlung.
