About Teri

I love our home in the mountains. It's a great house for entertaining family and friends and so close to Asheville, Hendersonville and Tryon and all of their great festivals! We love our dogs and the house is pet-friendly (with pet fee/agreement).

Teri purchased this house in 2006

Why Teri chose Saluda

Saluda is a fantastic town. You can walk around and shop, eat, listen to music, play at the playground - you can zip-line at The Gorge, go tubing & kayaking, fly fish or go to several waterfalls close by...there's no end to the activities.

Saluda is only minutes from the new Tryon Equestrian Facilities (TIEC & FENCE), Hendersonville Apple Festival, the Biltmore House, Grand Bohemian & Grove Park Inn in Asheville.

What makes this house unique

Best of all, I bought this house from the former Mayor and it is in the heart of downtown. You can enjoy all of the activities by walking out your front door.

I love to fly fish and the fishing is just minutes away and is really great yearound. Let me know if you need a recommendation for a Guide!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a great time here. Our "Camp Mimi-Ga" with my 3 grand children (Aubrey Ella, 15; Claire, 14; and Cooper, 13). and Sheila, the grandmother. Zip lines and walks, and great meals in town, and hikes and just a great place for us all to be together. Looked for the Sh_____ Falls but had lots of fun & adventures on the way. Loved Saluda , the friendly town, great restaurants, etc. etc. Thanks!

Wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. There were 10 of us (5 adults, 3 college kids and 2 children) and we all had a bed and plenty of room! The kitchen is spacious and the outside deck is a great place to read a book. The bed rooms are all large (with the downstairs bedrooms being ex-large). Someone had commented that the downstairs was musty but we had no problem with it. My daughter who has allergies stayed downstairs and didn't have any issue. The town of Saluda is adorable. We hiked, visited the Biltmore house, visited Hendersonville and strolled through Saluda. I recommend this house 100%!

Memory-filled weekend

  • 5 of 5

There were 9 of us who rented this beautiful home for a weekend family gathering - 5 adults and 4 children (ages 1-4). Teri, the owner, was easy to communicate with by phone and email. There was plenty of space for everyone, especially the kids who loved running around on the spacious wrap around deck ( latched gates on either end made it safe). There was more than enough room for everyone to eat breakfast together in the morning and pizza together in the evening (the Wildflour Bakery, which is a very short walk from the house, has delicious pizza on Friday nights). The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds and linens and plenty of space for luggage and other belongings. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and large refrigerator. The entire home was nicely decorated and very clean, with comfortable furnishings. Saluda is only about a 35 minute drive in to Asheville and a short drive to area apple orchards (if you're there during peak season in the fall, be sure to go to the orchards early or face long lines and bus loads of people). Downtown Saluda is an easy walk and there are lots of great shops and restaurants. Because we had small children with us, we appreciated having the school playground just across the street. We had a wonderful, memory-filled weekend where cousins got to spend time together and tired grandmas could relax with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day. Thank you, Teri, for sharing your home with us.

Great house

Lots of perks, the kids loved it. Great little town full of art and antiques. Walking distance to food and stores, also a playground within walking distance.

The Saluda house was okay.

  • 3 of 5

We had a group of 7 ladies for our family girls trip. We had booked a house in downtown Hendersonville and they sold the property so we had to find something else. I was glad we found this house, but it wasn't exactly perfect. The outside porch and family room were a good size, I'll grant that. But there were 2 doors (one up and one down) that were sealed or nailed shut. They were main entrances off the family room and stairs. That was disconcerting, to say the least. And the central staircase was very steep. We were worried about my 87 year old mother going up and down them. If the baby in our group had been walking age, we would have been worried. And there were a few annoying things - like the bar stools around the table had legs that kept falling out; plus I think every door in the house squeaked. The two beds in my bedroom downstairs were so loud and creaky you could never sneak out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom without waking up your roommate. Also, the directions to the house - if there's a house number we never saw it. Maybe some more precise directions would help, plus a house number or mailbox somewhere. Maybe we are too picky, but I don't think we would stay there again.
