Royal View "SWEET DREAMS" Princeville Condo
"We stayed at the Hale Moi condos in Princeville, specifically unit #213. Excellent value, and beautiful accomodations. The units (sides A+B) have been profesionally decorated and provide great amenities. (Snorkle gear, boogie boards, tons of local info) The unit (213) is owned/managed by a local woman that lives in Kapaa. The website is www.kauaicalls.com. If you go through (other agency), you will probably pay a ton more, for a more run down unit. My advice is to rent from the above mentioned site." JM

Looking back at four different holiday home rentals on two islands during our long vacation, this one was the best: wonderful location with nice view into the mountains, hidden beach in walking distance, the only flat that we didn't have to share with insects (which speaks for the good maintenance). All the equipment is there for cooking as well as for beaching- a wonderful vacation place! Mahalo
The royal view sweet dreams condo was just what we needed in Kauai. We loved the area of Princeville and Hanalei! This condo was a great place to stay to quickly access both of those areas and many more attractions on the North Shore. This condo was spacious and the kitchen and laundry convenient. The property seemed a little outdated but was clean. It was nice that the beach towels and equipment (chairs, umbrellas, cooler, etc.) were provided. Very nice place to stay with many activities, attractions, and restaurants near by (within 5 minutes drive time, some walking distance). Neighborhood of Princeville is extremely nice!
We had a 70 to 90% chance of rain... and got the best of this fabulous place. Beaches and waterfalls, rain forest and sunsets.
We were a little skeptical about staying here with the $99/night price compared to others that seemed similar that all cost around $130/night. But after reading through the details carefully, decided to take a chance on it. It was just what we hoped for! It was comfortable with plenty space for us (couple and 8 yr old kid.)
Why is it less expensive than the others? Our guess is that it is a little older, with less upgrades than some other units. (i.e. bits of peeling paint, old cracked plastic in bathroom, bad shower nozzle, etc.) Also, there is no outside area to enjoy beyond the balcony, which is shared with the neighbor. The mountain view from the balcony is amazing! We read reviews of other units that say the views were unimpressive, but this is not the case here.
We were impressed by how clean the place was. Even though the fixtures were old, the place was spotless. All appliances like toaster, coffee maker, washer/dryer were on the new side and worked perfectly. The closet is stocked with boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler, beach chairs, and much more - all in good shape.
The description says it sleeps 6, which would be possible with the fold out sofa, but squeezing everyone in would probably make for pretty close quarters. There is a double bed in the living room area, along with a king sized up in the loft. It does get very warm up in the loft, so in the summer months it could be rough. Also, the loft has no door, which means there are no private sleeping areas in the unit. The walls are thin - you can hear voices of those staying on the other side of the wall. Luckily we had quiet neighbors.
We wrote the property manager in advance with simple questions, and received a response almost immediately. We arrived on a Sunday with additional email/text questions, and they were right there to welcome us and respond.
All and all, we enjoyed staying here. It is a great spot for someone who wants a nice, clean, comfortable place, but doesn't have the big $$ to stay somewhere fancier.
We had a wonderful stay at Candace's condo. Property was exactly as described. The location was perfect, and the condo was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Kitchen had adequate equipment; although sharper knives would have been appreciated. Plenty of beach gear and towels for all of us. We would definitely return!
