My daughter got married across the lake, in planning my wife and I were concerned what to do with our other kids(2 dogs). Found this place and Terry and our worries were gone. Everything went perfect. The house was 100% what we had hoped. Terry communicates great through the whole process. There is a point down the street with great lake access. Definitely worth it!
My group really enjoyed their stay. While it was blisteringly hot outside the cabin remained remarkably cool. We just wished that there was WiFi and that the boat slip would be closer, however you can drive to where the docks are and leave your vehicle there. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would love to use the cabin again in the future. Terry was also easily accessible and called to make sure everything was okay and to check that we were enjoying our stay.
This house is good for 9 people. I and my friends spent a weekend at the house and all my friends liked it. What I liked about the house are an outdoor grill fueled by gas, a large bathroom, and its cleanness. I have a very bad dust allergy but didn't have any problem at the house.
The house owner is very kind. It was my first time renting a vacation house so I had many questions and concerns. I and Terry were talking through an email and a phone. He replied fast and answered all my questions. One of my friend lost his wallet around the house and next day, Terry found it sent it to my address. I was very impressed. I got all my deposit money back too.
Terry's house is perfect for a week vacation. I stayed for 10 days and it was wonderful. The house was as advertised, and Terry was great at communicating back and forth. I was there for a girls weekend and they were all impressed with the house and the large bathrooms.
One night the grill was acting up so we had to cook our food inside. However, Terry came the next day with a brand new grill for us to use. I had emailed him to let him know that the grill was on the fritz and he was very responsive. Blew away my expectations!
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
We had a great 2 night stay in this home near the lake. The house is really beautiful. We loved the look of the log home and it felt like a real mountain house. We were able to fit 2 mid-sized SUVs in the driveway. The house is across the street from the lake, so you can see the lake through the house and trees. There is public access to the lake in walking distance a few houses down to the right. The area is small but includes a dock, picnic table, fire pit and some chairs. The boat slip that comes with the house is a few minutes drive at the end of the community. There is a place to park and you have to walk down steps that are bit steep, but it is a nice place to just sit on the dock, fish and obviously if you have a boat.. They have a fire pit in the yard which we enjoyed at night. The loft and one of the 2 bedrooms have window unit ACs, however the bedroom one was a bit noisy. I got used to it the second night with earplugs, but I would recommend bringing a fan to cover up the noise. Also, bring a fan for the other bedroom without the AC in the summer because the ceiling fan did not work. Both bedrooms have doors with screens to the deck, so you can get air from there. The deck stretches all across the front of the house. There were chairs and it was a very relaxing place to sit and look at the lake. One of the twin beds in the loft was broken, but we informed the owner and it wasn't as issue for us because we only had one person sleeping up there. The place was clean, but we did bring our own comforters for the beds, which I would recommend. The downstairs has a TV with DVD player and a foosball table. The community is very cute and quiet. The houses are not that far apart but it still felt very private. There are plenty of boat rentals about 20 minutes away, so we went out on the lake one day on a boat. The grill was a good addition for an easy dinner prep, however we had to buy a grill brush because we could not find one in the house. There are grocery stores and restaurants about 15-20 minutes away. We booked this house on a Tuesday for that weekend's stay which was great. The owner was very quick with e-mailing me back. There was a mis-communication with getting the security deposit, but a quick phone call resolved that and I received the payment later that day. I would recommend this house. We were able to bring our dog, who loved it. It fit 5 adults very comfortably.
We stayed at this house over President's Day weekend & booked about a week before. The owner was extremely responsive to my questions and the transactions were easy and timely. Very easy to deal and would definitely recommend for this.
The house was well-maintained and very clean. Everything was exactly as in the photos and it was a nice cabin. Furniture was basic but comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked with most things you would need for cooking. The house is perched above a lake in a nice, quiet community. We actually only saw 1 other person the entire time we were there. We were mostly snowed in while we were there, so did not do much exploring in the area, but did ski for half a day in Scranton (~45mins away) on our last day. I would recommend this for a peaceful respite in the winter and assume it is much more of a summer destination with the lake.
Minus a star only for not shovelling/having driveway plowed prior to arrival. A large snowstorm had occurred the day prior to our arrival and we arrived late at night to ~3 feet of snow to be shovelled before we could access a path to door to obtain the key and then also to be able to use the driveway. Granted the owner warned us that he had only shovelled earlier in the week, but we were unaware that a full 3 ft awaited us & had no easy way to access the shovel awaiting us in the garage. I understand it was a large snowstorm & only the day prior so we did not complain, but just recommending it as more of a courtesy for future bookers.
Helpful to note: if reserving in winter when snowing, we found a 4WD vehicle to be absolutely necessary due to a hilly location. We had AWD and still ended up spending a good deal of time pushing our car up the hill out to the main road.
