Holiday home can accommodate 14 with the use of a double sofa bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms (which, if required, would be at an additional cost).

A delightful detached barn conversion set within 70 acres of land where families can enjoy making wonderful memories - not to mention the chickens, fresh eggs and farm lifestyle. With nearby walks, a cosy pub and a relaxed charmed feeling, this is the perfect spot for a family event or a chance to get away from it all.

Converted to a high standard, this detached barn conversion offers friendly self-catering accommodation for up to 14 people across 6 bedrooms, nestled in the peace and tranquillity of the Somerset countryside.

Ground floor:

The magic starts the moment you walk in through the front door of this stunning barn conversion. The comfortable and relaxing sitting room encourages you to rest and socialise with a range of chairs and sofas - enough for everyone to sit around the lovely and cosy log fire nestled into its red brick surround. The wooden floors are accented by rugs while the open beams add to the charm.

Of course cosy nights in are helped along by the large TV, DVD and video player to keep everyone entertained.

Also on this level is the well-appointed rustic country style kitchen with a large range electric cooker and American style fridge/freezer to give you all the cooking and storage you need for your entire stay. There will be no arguments over the washing up due to the full size dishwasher, while the washing machine ensures that everyone is looking their best. The open plan kitchen and spacious newly built conservatory style dining room featuring a lofted ceiling, a seating area at the far end and a long farmhouse table seating up to 13 guests who can all gather round to enjoy magical & memorable family meals! While enjoying an afternoon glass of wine in the sunny conservatory dining area you have lovely, very private panoramic views of the terrace patio, the grassy lawn and catch glimpses of chickens from afar.

Close to the kitchen is the utility room with a tumble drier and all the equipment you need to make your stay simple and fuss free.

On the ground floor are a further 2 double bedrooms - one with direct access to the garden. These bedrooms have easy access off the same shared corridor, to the downstairs shower room with WC, while there is also an additional separate WC next to the utility room.

With wooden or tiled flooring throughout, the ground floor offers accessibility for all.

First floor:

The wooden staircase takes you up to a spacious landing where you will find 4 more bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

You will appreciate the spacious 4-bedroom accommodation on this level, with two king size bedrooms and two double bedrooms, one of which has an additional double sofa bed. (which, if required, would be at an extra cost). The master bedroom with a king size bed is a lovely light room overlooking the sunny back garden. Two of the bedrooms feature corner shower units and sinks - although all bedrooms do have access to the full family bathroom and separate WC on the first floor.

Once again stripped wooden flooring adds to the charm and elegance of this lovely characterful property.

Outside:

All the family is well catered for outside the property too with an enclosed garden featuring a trampoline and swing set. In the summer the outdoor eating area, BBQ and picnic tables offer a warm, sunny spot for alfresco get-togethers.

Beyond the house, the true joy of country living can be experienced with a variety of friendly chickens and ducks that love to be hand fed. The fresh eggs add to the perfect farm holiday experience. When the time comes to rest in the outdoors, a simple gazebo is the perfect spot amongst the trees.

Parking:

From the private entrance that is shared with the owners nearby house, this private dwelling has enough parking for several cars to the front.

Location:

The house is set in the beautiful Spaxton countryside, but is still within walking distance of the local pub, The Lamb Inn and just 3.5 miles from the local shop.

Things to do:

The location makes this an ideal base for touring the area and visiting many popular attractions, such as Clarks Village, Dunster Castle, Somerset World, Cheddar Gorge, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, The Walled Gardens of Cannington, Cannington Golf Course, Glastonbury (15 miles), Burnham-on-Sea and Western-Super-Mare.

With the Quantocks and Exmoor so close by, you will be spoilt for choice for long walks, with scenic views in every direction.

Lots of beaches are also very close by, such as Kilve Beach on the Jurassic Coast (9 miles) - perfect for fossil hunting. Beyond that lies Watchett, Blue Anchor, Dunster and then Minehead itself; all sandy.

In the evenings you can enjoy a stroll to the family pub, or enjoy a BBQ and bonfire on the private enclosed land to the rear of the property. We recommend you bring a torch for evening strolls.

Spacious and well equipped

We were a three generation family party of twelve with ages ranging from 1 to 61 and a dog. The accommodation divided up nicely to give everyone some privacy and space. The kitchen was very well equipped and the dining area was spacious although newly built and not quite finished. We had regular deliveries of fresh farm eggs which were very welcome. The owners were friendly and helpful with local information. We could take the dog on walks across open fields without having to cross any roads and were accompanied by Bruce, the farm dog, on one occasion. The children enjoyed the trampoline although it didn't have side walls and so we had to supervise. The house provided a good base for exploring the area and just spending time together.

Fantastiskt hus i en underbar omgivning. Saknade man sina egna djur kunde man låna både katt och hund. Trevlig värd, Peter som fixade och såg till att allt var i ordning. Vi kommer att åka tillbaka i framtiden!
