About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

This large 2-story home is on a beautiful and tranquil tidal creek located in a quiet and serene neighborhood near Darien on the Georgia coast. It is convenient to I-95, Savannah, Brunswick, St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, and Jacksonville, FL and is surrounded by majestic oaks draped with Spanish moss. The house has large windows and doors allowing beautiful views of the river and marshes. There is a screened porch and large deck overlooking the river from the main level and a large deck and lanai overlooking the river downstairs.

The Kitchen has Jenn-Air and Bosch appliances and overlooks the dining area and a large family room with fireplace. The Master Suite, which is almost as large as the kitchen, dining, and family area, has a king Select Comfort (sleep number) bed, sitting area, fireplace, mini-office, and spacious bathroom with large soaking tub and private shower and toilet. The other bedrooms are large with private vanities and beautiful views of the outdoors. Open the casement windows to enjoy the coastal breezes or take advantage of ceiling fans in every room.

There are 2 single person kayaks, 1 double kayak, and a canoe that can be enjoyed during your stay. There are also paddles for the canoe and kayaks, life jackets, and adult and kids bicycles in the 2-car garage. The biking is relaxed and beautiful while winding through the live oaks and wildlife that cover the peninsula. There is also great bird-watching with a nature trail that allows you access to rare and exotic wildlife.

There is a marina with a lift and boat ramp only minutes away where you can put your boat in the water and purchase bait. Bring your boat, tie it to the dock, and enjoy it for fishing, water skiing, tubing, and access to the nearby islands. But please note, no personal water craft (PWCs) are allowed and idle speed (no wake) is required near docks and boats.

If your goal is to find quiet and spacious relaxation, you'll find that here. And if you're looking for activities that connect you with the outdoors and renew your spirit, it's here and within your reach. Either way, the tranquility and variety of Coastal Georgia is only a click and a phone call away.

About Cindy Irwin

We love the relaxing atmosphere of our home and the appeal of the Darien area. We also enjoy bringing the kids down with their friends to fish, swim, ride bikes, and canoe.

Our favorite places to go and eat are B&J's in Darien, which have the best fried shrimp around, and Willie's Weenie Wagon in Brunswick for their fish sandwich, fries, and sweet tea.

Cindy Irwin/Owner/Agent-Licensed Realtor in state of Georgia for Solid Source Realty.

Cindy Irwin purchased this house in 2007

Why Cindy Irwin chose Darien

Jeff is from this area and in 1989 we were married in the old Presbyterian Church in Darien. This was my Mother's home and is where we had our wedding reception. We wanted to keep the home in our family to be able to enjoy the beauty and fun of this community and area. We also wanted our children to experience this special part of Georgia.

What makes this house unique

There is a deep hole right below the dock where the fishing is often tremendous! In fact, it's common for folks to travel some distance by boat to fish here. In addition, porpoise feed here on most low tides and manatees are sometimes seen during the summer.

A beautiful and relaxing home.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing time here during the month of January. The home is beautiful and the views from the deck and screen porch are gorgeous. We really enjoyed watching for the dolphins, river otters and marsh birds. The road leading to the house is very quiet and we took our dog for a long walk nearly every day.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much Diane for your review. You guys were such a pleasure to have. Not sure what we would've done with the freezing weather which you so graciously handled with no problem. Thanks for everything you did to keep pipes safe etc.. We wish you all the best in your travels and hope to hear from you again in the future. Cindy and Jeff

Couldn't ask for more!

  • 5 of 5

Our family recently enjoyed a week at this wonderful home. The views are just stunning and the house and all of its accommodations were more than we ever expected. The house has lots of room to spread out if you have several guests, so you never feel like you are on top of one another. Not to mention all of the things to do outside!

Cindy and Jeff thought of everything and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. They were quick to respond to any of our questions and had lots of knowledge about the local waters.

If you want a peaceful retreat, this is the place!

Owner's Response: I'm actually glad I got behind with things over the holidays and just found I didn't respond back to you. Why am I glad? Well, because I wouldn't have been able to comment on your adorable Christmas card with a picture of your puppy on our dock. What a beautiful picture and we were so tickled that you sent it to us so thank-you so much for sharing that with us. Thanks also for your sweet review we really appreciate it. Come back soon! Go Dawgs! What a season!

Wonderful home on a beautiful tidal creek!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace of the Georgia salt marshes. The home is well equipped with everything you need from kitchen, to canoe and kayak. Cindy and Jeff, the owners, went out of their way to be sure we had what we needed to have a great stay. Very responsive to questions about the home and the area from our first contact through our last day,

We spent a month fishing off the dock (fish for lunch!), exploring in our own boat and the owner’s canoe, and just watching the marsh and the tides from the screened porch, deck, and dock!

Thanks for an amazing “sabbatical” in a magical place!

Owner's Response: Wow what a nice review. Thank you so much! You guys are quite the anglers catching as much fish as you did. I never have luck like that. ( I think it's because I'm a night crawler/bobber girl and that doesn't exactly work for salt water and tidal creeks. :) Anyway, we are so happy you enjoyed your sabbatical. I wanted to let you know you have won the award for the cleanest guest we've ever had according to my cleaning lady. She asked me if we really had a guest at the house because it didn't look like anyone had been staying for the month. She wanted me to tell you thank you! I hope we hear from you again soon. Until then we wish you much joy and happiness.
