About Chris Kurowski

If you like a quiet place where you can relax, listen to the waves hitting the shoreline, enjoy a breeze off the water, have a refreshment on the deck over looking Lake Huron and explore the shores of Michigan you have found the right place.

Chris Kurowski purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Chris Kurowski chose Rogers City

I purchase this cottage in 1998 for my family to enjoy and get away from our busy schedule. In 2006 my wife passed away and my kids moved to a new life thereafter on the west coast. The cottage rather than be an vacant nice place is now a year round home to anyone interested in wanting to enjoy the outdoors or just relax to their own schedule. Most guests return the following year for they have confirmed Relaxation on Lake Huron is just what says it is.

What makes this cottage unique

The great view of the water is unbeatable. Just terrific. You will be awed. If you like walks down the beach you will always remember this one. The 40 Mile Point light house is just 3/4 of a mile north and it will entertain your interest. Bicycling, walking, running, or just loafing will be energized with the possibilities presented. A 10 mile paved path that boarders the water and winds through some of the forests will open your mind to the beauty of Michigan.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I received this review from a long time customer who does NOT book through VRBO but books directly with myself. I thought I would share this for everyone to see.

Thank you again for the use of your cottage. We received the returned deposit before we even returned home. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. It isn’t often you can get into Lake Huron and stay in it as long as you like.

The bed was nice. Anna slept on it and Sarah on the futon. It was so warm/humid a few nights that we kept them apart. It worked out just fine.

We were thinking this was the eighth time we have stayed at the cottage in August. Sarah, now 7, was only a little over five months old when we first stayed. Anna is 11 years old now. Our family loves R.C. and your cottage is definitely a part of some of our best family memories.

Thank you again!

Comfortable home on Lake Huron to relax and explore

  • 5 of 5

This is the third visit we have made to this house. The accommodations feel like we have come home when we arrive. Comfortable couches and chairs to relax in, comfortable beds/mattresses and all linens are provided, kitchen ready to cook in and a washer and dryer! There are more bikes every time we visit and the gas bbq grill available for the delicious brats from both PLATHS and RYGWELSKI's in downtown Roger's City. Local grocery store for supplies. Local apple orchards. Farmer's markets open different day's of the week in surrounding towns we toured (we were there late September) . Antiques in Cheboygan, Artist's Co-op shop in Rogers City, Lighthouses everywhere and many small museums about the Lake industry. (and while heading north to Rogers City a stop in Bay City to sample the beer from Lumber Barons Brewery and stock up on chocolate and peanut butter from St Laurent Brothers). Love the property's decks and the beach of Lake Huron- both sand and rocks. Lots of seating outside to relax and a beautiful sky at night with the Milky Way above and the lighted freighters crossing the lake. Thanks again!

The property is very private, cozy & well maintained. Amazing view of Lake Huron!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second stay at the property. We enjoyed it so much this past June that we returned again at the beginning of September. We enjoyed riding the bikes available and visited the local parks. Such a beautiful area...and Lake Huron is awesome!! Will probably return again next summer!

Wonderful location and cozy cottage for our family Up North getaway!

  • 4 of 5

The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that the queen bed is a bit past its prime for 2 adults and could use replacement.

Owner's Response: I discussed this opinion with my wife too. She agrees. I plan on replacing the mattress soon. (within the month) No other guests seemed to care or were not so critical but there is always room for improvement to keep guests happy.

Secluded Cottage on Waterfront

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was lovely, actually better than most up-north cottages by having a little more updated feel. It was clean and tidy, uncluttered and inviting. The spacious lot had serene woods plus of course a great stairway to the private beach on beautiful Lake Huron. One of my dogs wouldn't let the cold October water keep him out. We had a great, relaxing time enjoying Michigan Autumn. We didn't see the bald eagles, but my brave dog did get acquainted with a porcupine! It could've been a lot worse, but he survived with just a few quills as souvenirs. I guess the stay wasn't all completely relaxing ;) It was an interesting experience!
